  1. Nice Rig you have coming there. For what purpose did you buy it? Arma alone or for other games too?

What kind of monitor will you use on those Graphiccards? 24" or 30" monitor? Or will you go for a triple screen setup?

I am getting ready for Crysis 2. We all know what happened last time when the first one was released. The most powerful systems were brought to thier knees.

Additionally I need more power for Photoshop, Illustrator, 3DS Max and Solidworks.

I am using a dual screen set up ATM. The second screen (while in game) acts as my system monitor. I have Catalyst Control Center - ATi Overdrive up along with Task Manager under the Perfomance Tab. I also have my CPU meter widget running too. Main screen is 23" LED and the secondary is 22" LCD.

This way I can see how hard and how hot my system is getting while playing.

Im guessing you'll have more than just an ssd for media storage? Nice specs!

Yeah, I have a 1TB Segate external HDD soley for storage. The SSD with hold my OS, Games and Art/Modelling programs. Files/Music/Movies ect... will be stored on the external.

  2. I hope I am posting this in the right area.

My Issue: The 'PrtScrn' key will not give me a screen capture of my game.

Instead I get a capture of my desktop?

Is there a screen shot command in ArmA 2?

  4. Here's my little contribution:

    U.S. Navy Term: "Sea Donkey"

    Definition: Sea Donkey (See-Donk-ee)

    1. A female sailor, who under any other circumstances you would not copulate with. Normally over weight and highly likely to be unattractive.

    2. Female sailor with whom you secretly have sexual intercorse or activities of a sexual nature in secret due to peer scrutiny and humiliation ,and spousal disapproval and future litigation..

  5. I voted yes at first but now that I think about the immense talent pool we have here, it would be easier for 'us' just to make something like that.

In fact you can do it already. They already have Force Recon and Delta Force in the game. Just create a 'Special Forces' character and then choose creat 'Operator Silenced'.

I f you really wanted to get crazy you can just paint some textures in PS and then map them.

  6. You can choose before you start, on the briefing screen. Select Units, your player then click Gear to select (only a few choices and some missions only)

Oh yeah I know that brother. What I mean I don't want to be 'limited' to just what they want me to use. I may like to have a Mk.17 CCO with suppressor, Holo and EGLM (Mk.13) or make a DMR out of a Mk.17 or a machine gun by adding 100 round C-Mag. You know stuff like that, like how Ghost Recon AW has their weapon load outs menus.

    Fixed faction designations.

  7. In the next instalment or even in an update I'd like to be able to choose exactly what weapon(s) I'd like to carry. For example when ever I go on a mission I want to be able to pick my rifle, smg or whatever and then add attachments to it. I am and always have been a stealth oriented player. And therefore I would always use a suppressor. Additionally I'd like to see some new weapons added to the next installment (or in an update as previously stated) and they are:

    1. Heckler & Koch...............................HK45 Pistol......................................US Army/USMC
    2. Sig Sauer......................................P226R Pistol (NSWC, Crane Division).....US Army/USMC
    3. NSWC, Crane Division......................Mk.18 Mod 0....................................US Army/USMC
    4. Barrett.........................................MRAD (.338 Lapua)...........................US Army/USMC

  8. Okay so, I droped in behind the base. I made it through the wall past the perimeter guard walking around the tanks undetected. I laid both satchel charges. I made a 180 and proceeded back under the wall undetected. I climed up the hill and and went south west to the highest peak overlooking the fuel truck and helicopter. Then I blew the charges.

My question is: What do I do now? I have received no indication of what to do next. No more waypoints are shown other than the one which would lead back into the lions den. It sure was a fun mission though! I really love the Mk.17 with the night scope!

  9. Vilas community is right. We need to take it back from these idiots. I myself fall into the ex-military category. And you're certainly right about players like us being higher educated and actually comming from military like backgrounds. I myself am pursuing a degree in Industrial Design. Hopefully I will make the cut over at 'TF86'. I just downloaded all their add-ons. I need to finish it up but I work late nights, LOL. I work at Boeing building the 737-800 and the 777-800.

  10. They should make this game like alchohol....sell to 21 and up. I know there are those of you in here much younger than that and actually respect the game so no disrespect intended. This 'game' is based off the actual simulator VBS. So, it baffles me why these choad swallowers want to even try to do this. It ain't HALO and you dont get prestige or special gamer card icons. I have uninstalled MW2 and Black Ops is on the chopping block as well because of these idiots.

BigMorgan hit the nail on the head though. Calling these c_mdumpsters 'hackers' only flatters them and furthers the antagnization of honest players. I think the only true way to solve this problem is to have the local content stored on the BIS servers. Our DVD should only act as a key to access the game. Then they can even have a security dongle that hooks up to your USB with a unique ID transmitter that scans your DOS promt and processes looking for 'illicit' activity.

There is a program called 'SignLab' that uses this feature to guard against piracy.

  11. Hello gents, just wanted to drop a line to all my ArmA brothers here in the U.S. and across the pond.
