    MH/AH-6 Littlebird

Hello Everyone, I am highly new to modding for ArmA, and so far I have a lot of learn in front of me, but non the less I have started work on an AH/MH-6 Littlebird for ArmA 3, so far I have put about 12 hours into the model as a result of having a cold and being bored, I am currently in the stages of unwrapping, and adding on the more minor details, such as the fins, and antenna's on top of the air frame, In addition to building on some of the more in-depth detail. It's also at the stage where I feel as if I can share it's development, and maybe even get a bit of help from others out there, so I can get these thing released. History of the Aircraft: The MH/AH-6 Little Bird first saw service around 1980, however the service of the aircraft go back to the predecessor model being the OH-6 Cayuse, which saw service during Vietnam as a low flight observation aircraft, used for scouting or marking targets for bigger and heavier aircraft such as the AH-1G Cobra Gunship or UH-1C Huey Gunships. The OH-6 became a prime candidate for the 160th SOAR when SOAR was being activated as it was a small aircraft capable of fast and effective recon capability, the SOAR variant of the OH-6 was designated to the MH/AH-6 Little bird. Much like other SOAR aircraft it first saw proper action in Grenada were used to assisting in evacuating causalities and more than likely deploying ordnance on enemy locations for Special Operation Units. The MH/AH-6 platform saw more aggressive action during Panama where it was used for raids, evacuations, transportation. The most notable use of MH/AH-6’s was during operations in Mogadishu, Somalia, where it was used to insert special operation teams tasked with capturing high value targets within the area, they were further used for medevac operations and close air support. Purpose of the mod: My aim and purpose for this mod is essentially to make a Littlebird with extended features to that of which you would see with the AH/MH-9 'Humming Bird' in ArmA 3, that's not to say it isn't a great aircraft, but I would like to bring the Littlebird back in all it's glory. However as this is my first mod, there will be short comings I am sure, but I will always aim to fix and enhance them with time, also as far the accuracy of the air frame goes, I only can use what I see, so there may be a few inaccuracies but hopefully the mod will seem worthwhile with that in mind. Planned Features: -Thermal Imaging -Glass Cockpit (http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8182/7976027357_4ac7f8cf0b.jpg) #NOTE: May or may not be used by current AH/MH-6's but I am implementing the cockpit into my bird, as it more than likely would be used by SOAR, seeing they have the latest of tech in their AH/MH 47's and 60's -Co-Pilot System -Dynamic Flight -Different Loadout Variants -More features to come, or even as requested About me: As I am new here, may as well share a very small bit about me, I am a 3D Modeler at heart, as far as ArmA goes I love aviation, in the real world I am just a college student studying game design. I have been wanting to get into the ArmA modding community since 2009, but I never really had the know how or drive to do so up until now. But seeing as my ability to understand programs and the like has increased I feel as if I finally have a foot in the door. So right now I really only know how to model, but once I am done with the air frame in terms of, mesh, texture, and animation(?), I will start taking the time to learn how to get into ArmA III. As I said I am open to help, and would really appreciate any that comes my way, hopefully this post in itself does not violate any rules, in regards to the fact I am new here. Images:

    It doesn't feel the same

I would have to agree, actually sadly and I never planned to... but I ended up re-installing ArmA 2. Right now ArmA III feels like an Airsoft simulator with some of the gear people wear, don't get me wrong I was all for the concept and I love it but it's abused, even the most realistic servers don't feel right because of it and some other features, I guess I am one of those who would have settled for ALL the ArmA 2 assets (with slight improvements) in ArmA III just with new maps and features. Where ArmA 2 felt like moving a brick, ArmA III feels like moving a paper mache. My only guess for the futuristic setting is because their military contract for VBS was nearing it's end so some of the assets that were used for that possibly under that contract could not be used in ArmA without the VBS contract. But once again that is a guess because it's probably wrong but I do know that the VBS contract was up for renewal around the same time as ArmA III hit development. None the less TLDR; I agree :/

    Is the game dumbed down?

Did not have to read much to say yes. In a lot of ways to me it feels like a cheap knock off of ArmA rather than ArmA..... Its like if the devs of WarZ tried to make a ArmA rip off to cash in on the series and left lots of content out and dumbed it down this is what it would be. Hopefully down the line it gets better.

Marine Special Operations Team 8211 Realism Unit

Update: We have made changes to our air wing. Firstly we have closed 160th SOAR in favor of the more traditional Marine Air Wing, therefore we are now 2MAW. Instead of MH-60's and the like we use UH-1Y's, AH-1W's, MV-22B's, CH-46E's, and CH-53E's Secondly there has been a big overhaul to the training pipeline required for pilots. In keeping with realism we have made our training more similar to the real world in terms of the process, instead of going straight to Flight School (FS) you will first be taught how to be a virtual officer before you are taught to be a virtual pilot within ArmA. Therefore you will attend our version of Officer Candidate School (OCS), and The Basic School (TBS). Our version of OCS is all practical mainly that the real world OCS is near impossible to emulate within ArmA. We use this for our assessment and selection meaning you will be taking through evolution's to test your abilities as both an individual and leader. Upon a successful completion of OCS you will move onto TBS. TBS is 80% Practical and 20% Theoretical, meaning rather than sitting in teamspeak channel for 3 hours going through a PDF, you will be in ArmA instead learning how to be an (E)officer and actually doing it. We believe here at 2MAW the best way to learn is by doing it. OCS and TBS is required by all pilots that come into our air wing, and is made to be challenging while still do-able, its also designed to teach you skills that you can use anywhere around the armaverse. Upon completing TBS you will begin flight school training and then your actual flight training will commence, it may seem like a long road, but if you put the time and effort into OCS/TBS/FS you can be flying with us in about 2 weeks tops. Here is our Training Pipeline. We are in need of Pilots so sign up today. Major Bates 2nd Marine Air Wing - Marine Special Operations Team 8211

Oh finally! Really was surprised when there were no logistic trucks like these in the alpha, and even more so the beta. Nice to see some being worked on!

Mate this look great! Kind of reminds of the detail of the PR Battlefield 2 BAF Models, and the BAF Models they were working on for the ArmA 2 version (Which got scrapped :'( ) None the less nice bloody work!
