Basically that sums up my point. ARMA is good for open space Tac shooter while SWAT & Rainbow Six is good for confined space tac shooter. And then the upcoming Ground Branch and Takedown will be good for confined space tac shooter. -
Mission Idea [Incomplete] [Random Missions Campaign]

I hope this is the right section to post this (Don't know whether it goes to the editing section or this section) I was working on a campaign project called the Random Mission Campaign. It's basically a campaign where the first few missions you select a few stuff before you start the real missions. (Pick a faction [bLUFOR, OPFOR, IND]; Pick how many players [2-n]; Pick which squad [Depends on players you pick, you pick there will be squads to play or nothing if not available]; Pick Island [Chernarus, Takistan, etc]; Randomized [Just a mission in the file where you do nothing and in 10 seconds it will end and a random End scenario will be pick which will then pick a random mission to play]). So far there's only something in BLUFOR -> 4 player coop -> Ghost Team -> Takistan The project is still incomplete, and I'm considering not working on this and just doing individual no respawn/revive coop missions instead and packaging them (kind of like sander's style missions). I showed my friend this so far and one of them like it. My other friend and I, we both like the concept of the random selection, but it is a lot of mission-changing (about 5 sections of no missions) then the mission start. I'm wondering if this would be more convenient to do, or just individual mission pack. I most likely will not have time to commit to this (real life) and it would be a lot of work unless there is multiple people working. You may use it as a template if you wish or work on it yourself. ARMA 2 can be considered a tactical shooter. It is mostly played out that way. It is what you make out of it. There are simulator like VBS2 and ACE mod and simulate realism really well for your tactical needs. -

I guess you're right. I might as well just make individual missions. The campaign idea does seem like a hassle, but I'll just leave it out for anyone who would like to look through it or use it as their own. -
Any other good old fashion coop mission packs. Kind of like Sander's and VanhA's missions. I'd like some good quality too :p . No respawn/revive and also compatible with SP if optional.

For me its kind of a tough call. I didnt see much zombies on the .90 zombie system but doesnt lag too much. On the .95 i see zombirs everywhere. Fun but servers can't handle the stress and lag tend to make things unplayable. Playability is an important factor. If you can use a balance of two ways that would be great. If less zombies with strong zombies are laid out right (i find an eerie atmosphere in that). A lot zombies give the (oh shit moment). I'd say probably go with .90 system for more playability but with stronger zombies unless you can compromise the two system together. It seems like a lot of people did have issues with .95 -
Favorite MP Missions and Recommended Missions?

I'm just curious about what people most favorite dynamic missions for MP or some kind of gamemode are and what would you recommend other players to try out. Would it be, domination, insurgency, Hohei Evolution, GITS Evolution, ZK BattleZone, MSO, Patrol Ops, Takistan Force, etc. What other missions that are not on the list would people probably recommend? (Has to be a dynamic mission or some kind of custom gamemode) -

Heh, well if u want u can hit me up through steam for some rounds too (check my signature). Unfortunately my spring break just ended. Well i guess since you're all discussing about small normal coop missions (I'd like them too if i had a more organized group), I'll share a little sneak peek of what I'm working on. Its a random mission campaign of a collection of mission (so far selecting parts on picking which faction, how many players/bots, and other stuff are done) just going to need to make good old fashion scenarios now. Just got to select what faction to play as, how many players (i put up to 13 mainly focusing on small groups), then the squad you want, then which island, then a level where it randomly select which missions to play. Just group respawns none of the instant or base respawn revive stuff. I'm sure the host button for campaigns should probably work out fine. -
[Alpha] RTE for ArmA II

Trying out RTE. At first I couldn't get it working with the couldn't connect to pipe issue until I used RTECapture. It seems pretty cool at first but there was one problem, I couldn't get the units I place to hold still and they keep moving around. I eventually got them to hold still until suddenly, everything blew up and then the unit I place as me died. The mission restarted and then I can't get back to the editor and the couldn't connect to pipe issue came back. Is RTEditor still too buggy to use? Is there any alternative 3D mission editor or will it get fix soon? Will MCC Sandbox be a good substitute? I'm a bit confuse on what's wrong. -

oh dear, please no dubstep >.< to me is a total turn off. I like metal in general but then for ARMA Music, I would like it kinda like those Rainbow Six intro songs, pretty catchy for tactical shooters and stuff :P

How to improve the Close Quarter Combat experience in Arma 3?

For CQC I'd like some fluid movements of going to and through the room, lockable/breachable doors, flashbangs, breach charges and those other goodies (keep it real). I heard that BIS are going to make all buildings if not all almost all buildings enterable. If that's the case, why not some CQC too :D . The movements in ARMA 2 are a bit hard to do CQC with but SMK animation does make it a bit easier but some part of it is a bit arcadey. I did heard that SMK animation some part of it somewhere is being included in ARMA 3? I guess that would be nice. For CQC, I like how SWAT 4 does it. -
Using ARMA to improve English Language proficiency

I guess you can go in the editor and create some missions. Have them go around and communicate with each other on teamspeak and reporting enemies by degrees and stuff like that in english. Maybe have them each be a specific role or something while speaking in english? -

Hi, I'm trying to use back to wall on SMK animation, I've been trying to test it out but I can't get back to wall working. When I use turbo + lean it ends up saying wall check. Is that the combo for back to wall? -
Hi, I'm wondering why if I pick "First Aid to..." for a certain player who's down, they always end up bleeding out from wounds and dying. If a player is down, do I just use the regular first aid or use first aid to? It seems like the AI have better luck reviving downed players sometimes.

I see all buildings are now going to be enterable and destructable. Will it also be possible to make CQC fighting and include flashbangs and breaching doors? I see that a 3D editor will also be included, I assume that it'll be easier to place AIs inside buildings now and will they fight better indoors as well? -

AI improvement in Arma II from beginning to now

The AI has greatly improved by the 1.60 Patch from Operation Arrowhead. Instead of going through walls, they actually go around obstacles this time was what I notice. They stop warping everywhere in multiplayer so it's much more stable more. They actually take some cover a bit more from the 1.60 patch. Overall, its pretty good. They're still pretty bad drivers though. -

Hiding Certain Missions & Re-enabling When Addon is Present?

I'm curious if there's a way for me to hide certain missions when I go through the multiplayer mission list. I want to hide some of the Invasion 1944 missions that I got from the sixupdater and not be able to see them at all unless I enable the I44 Addon. For example, I have some stock ACE missions that came with ACE mod when I downloaded with sixupdater and they don't show up unless ACE is enable. I want to know how to do the same with the I44 missions (which are in the MPMissions folder) but the ACE missions are not in the MPMissions folder. -

I assume at this point it's not possible? :( I hope once ARMA 3 comes by they add that or folders in mission folders to organize stuff and also enable/disable addons in game (I like the Ghost Recon 1 layout). -
Phantom Tactical is a little steam community/group I have created for people who would want to play ARMA casually, tactically, or semi-tactically, but don't have too much time on their hands to play all the time, dedicate themselves to a realism group, and want to join pubs all the time because sometimes it lacks organization. Anyone who plays ARMA 2 can join even if they only have ARMA 2 Free. For people who do have Combined Operations, I do recommend SixUpdaters to get custom islands. Anyone can post on the events or create a new topic in the steam group to ask someone for a round of ARMA.
