    Phantom Mission Packs

In that case, I'm thinking I'll make them go near the city but not strike until you hit on the radio "reinforcement proceed". Sounds good?

    Phantom Mission Packs

ACE Pack and Combined Ops pack updated with 3 new missions. ACE now on version 1.4 and CO on version 1.3 Missions added: Baby Bird (4 pilots fly little birds and take over Bastam with guerilla support and UAV). Also includes 31 player coop version where you can also play as guerillas. Shahkar Rises, basically a quick remake of the very first mission I ever made for ARMA but now with no revive/respawn.

I never intended to make the Sobor part hard much unless people wanted it to be more. I only planned the defense as the hard part.

Hmm, I haven't had the SCUD missing issues. I usually scan the area with a TWS scoped weapon or a Rangefinder at the town to see if the little warheads stick out or not. You probably missed them if they're hidden somewhere. If you don't see them then... (check spoiler) If the scuds are truly missing, then the objectives should probably be ticked as completed from the beginning and you'd be able to board the chopper and extract even before the mission start. As for Vyshie Coverfire, what do you suggest? I'd figure defending the town in the beginning would be hard and I'd thought the enemies might use some RPG shots at the reinforcement allies taking the sobors. I didn't wanted to throw the players from one hell to a 2 man force alone taking the sobors. The reinforcements against both sobors would the resistance comeback after the Chedakis have failed to take over Vyshnoye. I was thinking of more so the 2 snipers support fire and get rid of MG nests and RPG gunners but I guess they got mowed down. What would be your suggestion? Lessen the numbers of allies reinforcement?

    December 2012 status update

The 2 game developers being imprisoned in Greece without justice is already pretty horrid. Ivan Buchta was also one of the guys I see most on the ARMA 3 videos which is a huge blow. DayZ I can care less about it, I hated the people on there anyways and it got stale to me pretty quickly but if people want to play that's cool, more $$$$ to BIS. Sure, they can go ahead and release DayZ first, the DayZ-ers will be waiting for it and then that will UP their revenues. I don't mind ARMA 3 getting delayed, it can take as long as it takes but I'll be looking forward to it. It has been looking great (as long as its not cancelled because that'd be a complete utter waste). There's still lots of life left in ARMA 2. Lots of mods in the making and being developed further as well. I'll be looking forward to Hell in the Pacific updating some more, Unsung 2.5, even that Crusader medieval mod and I can work on more missions in the meantime.

What is the future of this franchise?

Wasn't that where GRAW went wrong I hear? Where the AI just try to do their own things while listen to you at the same time and then ends up getting shot in the face like idiots? Well let's not talk about GRAW Ais or GRAW2, both games pissed me off with those. AI controlled by the players can be quite a hassle to be honest (its much nicer when you're using voice commands with VAC or GlovePie <love it>). From what I hear, they work best when you have a few stealth AIs recon the enemy out and then enemies are reported and spotted, then when you get your squad into firing range and have them line up for the shot undetected, they can do wonder. Of course the AI commanded under the AI with AI enhancement mods or scripts are much nicer without having to manage (ASR, ACE, UPSON, DAC, etc). An AI that follows both your command and "think for itself" may not work so great. I'm not too big a fan on AI controlling either. Maybe you give a "move there", AI spots enemy, would it keep moving? Take cover on its on? Will it still keep in formation or would they scatter and go unorganized? It's a bit too unpredictable sometimes. As for improving AI CQB, that would be pretty nice. (maybe I shouldn't brought GRAW up, I really hated it for its so stupid AI. OGR AI was way better than those. Either they insta-headshot you but when you give them order they get themselves instakilled).

    ACE for OA 1.13

As I converted some of my missions to ACE, I find that I cannot pack or unpack items in my rucksack in the ingame briefing loadout before the mission start. Is this an ACE issue that can be resolve in the future or will I have to rely on only ammoboxes for ACE missions.

Just Got ARMA CWC. 1.99 or 1.96

I just got Cold War Assault (original FLashpoint) after wanting to try the original after trying out ARMA 2. I see that most people play on 1.96 still and I'm wondering if I should stay on 1.99 or downpatch to 1.99. Do organized community play on 1.99 or 1.96? I see most pubs play on 1.96 and I'm wondering whether I should go to 1.96 or 1.99. I also got myself the OFP Launcher from kegety's site here http://www.kegetys.fi/ofp/index.php?p=others . I'm also wondering what addons I should get and is there any mega mission pack I can download all in one batch instead of individually search for a couple missions. Thanks.

Does anyone know of a better addon launcher? I can't seem to get the others working right.

Is there a way for me to downpatch to 1.96 if I have the steam version?

SOF Studios and their game, H-Hour

I've read up on David Sears. Ubisoft made a bad call. He wanted to bring Rainbow Six Patriots into a more tactical direction but Ubi most likely wouldn't like that so he's gone and now with SOF Studios. I heard he was also involved in SOCOM 1-2 but was out after Socom 3 and the series went to hell at that point while googling him up and reading a couple game articles and user comments. Hearing that there's no modding supports can of saddens me, I'm a big fan of modding support unless the game can clock in countless hours without it (only game that I can think of that do that to me is AI Wars: Fleet Command where it takes at least 10 hours to play one match and it can take longer with every new round being a new experience). Modding supports can add so much more life to a game and keep it alive. It does however seem promising to the Socom fans. I don't get why they wanted 3rd person mainly for the PS3 version of Takedown (well they are SOCOM fans) but Takedown seems more like a SWAT 4/Rainbow Six stuff and indoor combat in 3rd person is kind of meh for clearing rooms. Ground Branch seems like it can be the revival of the true Ghost Recon to me and H-Hour seems like the revival of Socom to me so. I'd probably compare H-Hour to Socom, Takedown to Swat and Rainbow, Ground Branch to Ghost. As for ARMA, its the true successor of the real flashpoint.

Hey anguis, do you use 1.96 patch or 1.99? I just got Cold War Assault off of steam a few days ago and it's on 1.99.
  17. In order to be a good player. One does not need to care about kill/death ratio... no offense, it sickens me when people speak about this too much. That's for run and gun FPS where you rambo and kill. I rather have barely any kills and 0 death because that's the way to go (I tend to play no respawn anyways). This game about being tactical. Well, you can always press I ingame to see your kills and death (if the server permits this) but on expert you can't check your "KDR". As for mission, I'll recommend you Takistan force if you want to learn some stuff. Just experiment around with it a bit, its quite nice and have respawn for you and dynamic missions that aren't just capture this base domination style. http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?103813-COOP-20-Takistan-Force-(OA)

Why do most people prefer coop, not cti?

That is the true beauty of ARMA. It's whatever you want to make of it. Everyone got their own taste and preference they're willing to take, share, and like. You're not always stuck to a certain way to play it. I've seen some guys who tried ARMA and hated it for the campaign and whatever stock mission there is. They totally missed the point of it and just left overlooking everything armaholic had to offer. Well, they're some more mainstream jump in and run and gun types but well, if someone ever wanted to make ARMA into that, the editor always offer the chance for someone to do so. This is why I love ARMA, the stuff you can make of it is limitless. You can have your ideal tactical standard coop missions, your complex scripted dynamic coop missions, your CTI, your warfare, I even saw someone recreate some COD maps on it, you can have zombies, a cops vs robber stuff, and much more. Though overall, my best experience has been in standard regular old fashion coop missions with no respawn/revive but that's just personal taste and preference. Everyone has their own different tastes and preferences.

Just Got ARMA CWC. 1.99 or 1.96

I doubt the steam version has 1.96 on it. Does he uses 1.96 or 1.99 Variable? Any mission packs you recommend me download as well all in 1 go or just search them up individually through the CiA mission list? Are there also any of those client side addons like in ARMA 2 with the Hud addons or tweaks like Pradar, MK4, True Users and stuff like that?

In that case should i copy and paste my ofp folder, make a duplicate, leave one on 1.99 and the other downpatch to 1.96? Are there any addons that you recommend me download? Client side ones and custom island units stuff. Any mission packs i should grab as well to download them all in one go instead of browsing one by one?

    Missions

armaholic is your source for custom materials. If you're ever done with the singleplayer campaign and missions from stock ARMA 2, there's plenty to download off of as Gunter showed you. I'll say there are custom campaigns that are way better than the stock campaigns itself. There's plenty of great singleplayer missions if you're looking for some, a lot of very well done custom campaigns too. Some of the campaigns I'd advise would be Blood on the Sand by Zipper, Seal Team Six & Delta Force by Sickboy, Soldiers of Valor: Taskforce94 by USRanger, and there's plenty more. Some may require addons but there are also welldone non-addon ones.

I'll be looking onto it if its on sale. Shame that I missed it when it was on Newegg accidentally put it for $2, lasted only for an hour. I tried it on my friend's PS3 and it was fun.

Another Comrades in Arms video from a few months ago during the Friday session on the test server. Its on Lingor :P c2bDLk8GyDQ&feature=g-upl sorry for the crappy effects, youtube said I had a problem so they asked to fix it for me so I click yes which made the cam too shaky. I'm reverting it back because the original was just fine. Should be fixed now.
