  1. I have been flying around in the A-10. I am able to fly it without crashing, but would like some tips on using the weapons. I assume when I click on TAB and then I hear a fast beep noise, that means I am locked on the target, right? Also, what does the GBU-12 weapon do and how do you accurately use it?

  2. I had this game for about five days now. The first four days I had no problems at all, I could play for two hours straight if I wanted to. I just updated my graphics drivers to the newest build NVIDIA has on their website and now all a sudden I am getting display errors. The game does not crash, the screen will go black and then I ALT TAB to see what is up and I see the display error message.

Could this be an issue with the newest graphics drivers I downloaded? Perhaps someone else who has those drivers could tell me if they are experiencing the same problem.

By the way, I run two 8800GTS cards.

  3. Sometimes my mouse would freeze for a few seconds or it would have massive delay when I would attempt to move it in ARMA 2: OA. It only happens with this game, any other game it is fine. Anyone have any idea how I could fix this?

  4. Indeed, the fans can be loud at times.

With no fans on and no SLI on, card one will idle at about 58C to 60C. With both card fans on at 100% and SLI on, card one will run 52C and card two will run a little cooler at 51C, but that is when it is not warm in my home.

Right now it is warm in my home so card one is at 57 and card two is at 56 with both fans on 100%. When I am playing ARMA2:OA, I saw was 67C on both cards, I did see it peak at 69C though.

I'm just one paranoid person when it comes to my PC. My last PC I had, I upgraded the graphics card and a week later I woke up to my PC shooting sparks out of the back. I was so upset and sad at the same time. lol =D

  5. I actually keep both fans manually at 100%.

If I have both fans off, at idle in SLI my cards would run a hot 70C. However, if I shut SLI off then my one card will run about 60C at idle. Perhaps something is wrong with my computer, or it is just getting outdated. I just don't have the money to purchase a better one or upgrade any of the components.

I'm going to turn SLI off and see how much of a difference it makes.

Edit: What does the "Tune" option under Performance in the NVIDIA control panel do?

  6. I have an old Alienware PC from 2008 with these cards. Normally my cards run 52C, but lately it has been cold outside so we have the AC off and unfortunately that increased the temp of my PC. =/

Right now because it is warmer inside my home than it is outside, my cards temp is sitting around 56C and when I play ARMA is jumps to about 62 and sometimes 65C. I'd like to turn the AC back on, but I would get screamed at by some girl. lol

Are there some settings that I can change to make the load on my cards less? Will changing the in game graphics help out much in terms of heat? Right now I am running everything on the normal setting in game.

  7. How come the boxed version of this video game is cheaper then the digital download version on Amazon.com?

Also, someone on Amazon.com put under the reviews that he was unable to play the game because he did not receive a serial code? If I purchase this game from Amazon, will I run into the same issue?

  8. Thanks for the information about the demo. After I read your post I downloaded it and tested it out.

I love the idea of a realistic military game and this one appears the open world. I was happy to see that it ran well on my computer with little issues, maybe a little lag here and there, but still very playable.

So I went through boot camp and learned that the controls are very confusing and hard to use, at least for me they are. I managed to complete the first two missions in boot camp and then failed horribly on the helicopter mission. So I then decided to play single player and enjoyed it, but the controls made it very hard to play.

I decided to plug in my PS3 controller and basic controls like move, aim, reload, fire, and all the stances. I found it just as hard because the controls were not smooth like I am used to in any other shooter games I played. What I mean by not smooth, is that I was unable to run and look around at the same time.

Perhaps I set up my controls wrong... I searched the forums here to see if someone posted their control setup, you know what stuff they map to their controller? I can't see to find any threads on that..

I mess around with the controls some more. If someone who plays with a controller can be so kind to tell me what buttons they have setup?

  9. Steam no longer is doing the Thanksgiving sale? I checked their prices yesterday and the Arrowhead version was 19.99 US dollars, but now it is back up to 39.99 US dollars.

I thought the sale was supposed to last until the 29th?

  10. According to the Can You Run It website, I am able to run this game.

Can someone tell me how the online is? How many people can play at one time? Is online dead? Are there lots of bugs? If I just buy the Arrowhead version, can I still play with everyone else who bought all versions? Convince me to buy this game. =D
