J.S.R.S Vs Speed of Sound. Video 1 - YOU decided
babylonjoke replied to oo para oo's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
Both are very solid but I prefer SOS. -
Ahahah 10/10. I love it! We need more of these kinda of stuffs!

Even if you are bloody right you gotta think that if there's a remote chance of improvments it's for sure are going to happen on Arma 3 and not on Arma 2...Itself for me it's already a big step forward in terms of gameplay from A2, shame that I can't say the same for the "frustation" factor... so maybe get on the A3 train when they will lower the price... Edit: About steam, yeah. I perfectly understand your points of view. But we gotta face the truth which is that nowadays games are going to be redistribuited just with digital copies. We gotta deal with that unfortunately..

BI & sound engine are two words that can't be putted togheter. I'm wondering if their sound engineers / programmers do feel embarassed for what disgusting sound engine they have built up. The funny thing is that they aint even changing it! Even after a thousands of complains (starting back from A2)! Most of the missing features / bugs are "still" acceptable in A3. But on that topic there are no excuses.

I still have to understand this magical line between "usefull" and "eye candy".

what my friend said, it's the same on my side... good luck on getting things working again foxhound :)
-
I've been asking myself that for ages... I'm starting wondering if there's any at all

Really pathetic, like all the static guns (non) animations.. This thread will make suicide many people, lol.

flashlights / lights not colliding with objects (dynamic shadows it's the correct name?) After several months still unable to trow a damn grenade behind a wall.

Why is this game having such a serious lack of user-created content?
babylonjoke replied to Ecto's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
We all have to face the fact that Arma 3 is a modding platform with outdated tools and very poor documentations... If things aint gonna change in the future Arma 3 will see a very low ammount of mods... I think what would incentivate modders could be some new "eyecandy" feature...at least thats what could attract new modellers, like supported colors for the specular map or better shaders... I've already seen enough skilled modders leave Arma community... -

I'm speechless. I even asked for a valid reason, but yeah, I probably asked too much for you and I should have expected a such trivial reply. What gear? I don't know , that depends on the weight, I think till 15/20 Kg you should be able to jump. At least on my side I'm able to do it and I'm pretty thin and not "trained". Be scared of bunny jumpers, lol. I'm out of this thread.

I don't care if it's jump or climb animation honestly, it's just about get over the obstacles giving an advance to who choose to wear a relativly small gear and an hendicap to these people that prefer to carry 1 launcher, 3 rockets, backpack, sidearm, rifle , magazines, grenades. Neurofunker your replies are no-sense. The fact that we lived without ragdolls ingame till A3 doesn't mean we could have lived forever because "it's useless". And the feedback tracker it's pretty much no-sense as well, since as we well noticed BIS don't really care about it [Or at least nowfor these kinda of features (check the first 2 pages of the feedbacktracker)]. This is a thread, we just discuss there and I gave my point of view Just explain me what's the problem with this feature, because I don't see any. Maybe if you explain your reasons (instead of using this "go play with sand castle" or "we never had any so we can live with it" attitude) I might will change my opinion.

Awww that Armor penis system is going to bring me back on A2! Love it guys
-
What's your point? Are we talking about Arma or "which game should I play"? My comment was refered to these people that wont allow any kinda of ingame jump, even if you have no gear. I find pretty weird that these people like to talk about realism.

Toadie's SmallArms WIP thread

Lovely anims! Looking forward to the release! -
130% accurate, I tested it! If I wear a Polo shirt and a Bermuda pant I'm unable to jump or climb. Obviously I was fully equipped with my 70+ kg combat gear of potetos + 5 kg of side fu*** that I give in the bermuda Seriously, no one care if a Soldier can jump or not fully equipped, it's just about make everybody happy with the actual game... that's it. Anyway, I'm so glad that at least BI included the animation... Thanks god! I'm still thinking that they might made it to implement it in the future... I'm still praying and hoping for that.

the houses and ruins are the mp problem ...

Well, we always wanted underground object system... Now we have it, just in the wrong way ;D -
Not just yet. But Next Gen is Possible.
babylonjoke replied to CaptainAzimuth's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
I really don't think so. Most of the feature requested from A3 users are around from far long time. The problem is that BIS actually make the technologies just to let strictly fit in their game/scenario, without giving a shit about mods. And it's a bit strange if you think that this game is alive because of the mods :P -

Under the artistic aspect, for a modder or a 3d artist, it's a pain in the arse know that this engine could handle these stuffs like reflective materials... Or anyway anykinda of underground object. Omg, I had to model an entire hill to make a goddamn underground bunker system. That doesn't make sense and looks ugly (in facts I quitted working on that). Trenches would looks awesome as well as bunkers. -

VBS2/3 Discussion thread - the one and only
babylonjoke replied to Placebo's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
The graphic they showed actually it's far from what they have ingame. I think these are just "concepts" of what the engines can do. A small scene setted up ingame with the new lighting... What actually makes me so angry is that also Arma 3, since uses RV4 as well, should be able to handle such graphic/ features . At least would be cool if they could give us modders a way to do that. I mean, real time reflection... argh! Now we know that these things are possible in RV4 engine. How can we use them in Arma 3? How can I have rivers in Arma 3? How can I have this awesome real time reflection? How do I change the lighting? How do I make underground systems? I honestly don't care if they put these stuffs in the vanilla game as soon as they give mod makers the ability to do these stuffs. Stuffs that are actually requested from the community from many years... I like the idea of the prize they now trowed in, it's very motivating for making good mods and attractive for new skilled modders ... but my motivation has been again totally sucked away watching this new VBS videos... P.s. I will laugh a lot when VBS will have realistic 3D scopes -
Amazing work!

ArmA3 - Unlimited Hydroplane
babylonjoke replied to Redphoenix's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
I love it -
Nice, so following this mind we will never have Bipods (or any other kinda of core feature) because it takes "too long"? ( Anyway, I'm still laughin for the "trowing grenade" system. That's absolulty garbage. Who ever had the task on that should be fired. )
