  1. I got Reinforcements from EB Games in Sydney. There are 2 stores in the city. -
  2. My Private Military Company has been patrolling on the Proving Ground map. What an atmospheric map this is! This map is covered in waist high scrub. I have done hiking through this type of scrub below the peak of Mt Cloudmaker so i am familair with the feeling. When we spot the enemy it is normal to go prone. But when we do so, we can no longer spot the enemy. So, I have my team crawl 10 meters to the side, then all together change to crouch so we can see and fire on the enemy. However, it takes a few seconds to obtain a target and in those few seconds the enemy fires and we are history. How to patrol and fight in waist high grass / scrub ? -
  3. My MG team is ALWAYS Team Red. My rifle team is ALWAYS Team Blue Team Red is ALWAYS on my left. Team Blue is Always on my right. -
  4. I split the squad into teams: - 2 man MG team - 2man rifle team etc and they cover each other in bounds -
  5. Correct: it doesn't work. - ---------- Post added at 07:37 AM ---------- Previous post was at 07:36 AM ---------- I got the same info from probably the same web site and it doesn't work for me! - ---------- Post added at 07:41 AM ---------- Previous post was at 07:37 AM ---------- Those of you with FRAPS, are you using WIN 7? Because if WIN 7 print Screen does not work then WIN 7 with FRAPS will probably fail too! -
  6. This is the most successful patrol I have conducted since I got the game last October. A British squad on patrol in Takistan. Team Red are a 2 man MG team. Team Blue are a 2 man rifle team. Myself and the medic as Team White make a total of 6. I have the 3 teams move by bounds. All soldiers are crouched. I have one team move about 20 meters and go prone. Then the next team move, then the third. We in Team White are at the rear. Team Blue was on the move. Team Red was already forward and prone. Team Red spots enemy. I order Team White to go prone! Team Blue are vulnerable until they go prone. Realising I had forgotten about Team Blue, I look about for the enemy and at the same time look about for Team Blue. I order Team Blue to go prone and scan for the enemy. In the meantime the enemy is firing. In my confusion precious seconds are lost! Team Red has already opened fire and now I hear Team Blue open fire. I am not yet in control of the situation and I hear “All clear!†The men have done it almost on their own without casualties. We patrol to the second objective where a similar thing happens. I am very impressed with my British AI soldiers! This is my first patrol without casualties. -
  7. I have Operation Arrowhead I have set soldiers 2 and 3 as Team Red To select team red I would: Shift F2 I have installed Reinforcements I have patched to 1.59 I have set soldiers 2 and 3 as Team Red Shift F2 no longer selects Team Red Please advise -
  8. Thank you That works just fine. Strangely I didn't "get it" until now. -
  9. A special mention should go to Wilson and Jones and Frazer. -
  10. Given that I have 3 units in Team Red, how do I select Team Red ? -
  11. Unfortunately Left Control does not work for me ! -
  12. I have Operation Arrowhead patched to 1.57 I do not have any other games in the series. I am enjoying the “My Missions†Before commencing a mission, you can move the entry and exit icons around the map before starting the mission. With the maps Shapur and Proving Grounds, entry and exit icons never appear. -
  13. I have installed Reinforcements I have patched to 1.59 And still those same maps cannot be used. -

    AI spotting enemys per clock

From this thread I wonder if we are all playing the same game! The clock is a good idea but does not work. -
  15. OR: I love it when a plan comes together I do not have Arma 2. I only have Operation Arrowhead. I am enjoying the “My Missions†My squad was tasked with destroying a “high value targetâ€. This was an enemy ammo truck guarded by only a few enemy. The enemy parked the truck about 150 meters from a clump of trees. There was open ground all around. We would have to approach from the clump of trees. Red Team is a 2 man MG team. Blue Team is a 2 man rifle team And there is also myself and a medic I placed Blue team on Stealth. I had Red team provide cover while Blue team moved into the clump of trees. Then with Red team on stealth, Blue team provided cover while Red team moved into the clump of trees. I had the medic provide cover to the rear and I moved into the clump of trees. I must have moved too quickly as the enemy spotted me and opened fire. I took cover behind a rock and could not see what was going on! My men were set at 3-2 “Hold Fire – the squad will attack an enemy deemed to be an immediate threat. Either very close or firing in your direction†All my men returned fire and the firing stopped after only a few seconds. I looked up and all the enemy were dead. All my men reacted as they were supposed to. I concluded the enemy were poorly trained and were not keeping watch in our direction. Also, under fire, they stood up to gain a better position when they should have gone prone. Question: After the firing stopped, should we have moved away quickly or should we wait a bit in case some more enemy are around? -

    AI spotting enemys per clock

Because the clock face constantly moves. That tree to the front was 12 o'clock. But I turned to the right and the clock turned too. Then I turnd to the right a bit more and the clock turned too. So tell me, what direction is that tree now? -

    AI spotting enemys per clock

I don't have Arma 2. I only have Operation Arrowhead so the clock is normal for me. In another thread I suggested: On the clock face there be a small red dot representing the enemy. Then my character turns to face that dot. -
  18. I too have had the same issue. I have no mods and no add-ons I get wounded. I switch to the Medic. I, ( as medic) move to "me" as leader and patch up the leader. Meanwhile, somebody takes over as leader and starts issuing orders. And the squad becomes scatterd. -

    Webinterface for Arm2

    What is a "web interface" ? -
  20. I had the same issue. The solution: before the mission starts, in the map screen, remove all the mens pistols. -

    The function key in OA

In Bootcamp, there is a lesson on how to call in mortar, artillery support. Try that first. -

    The function key in OA

"F5" means you have selected soldier 5. "5" Opens the communications menu. Support is never available unless it you know it was already available at the start of the mission. -
  23. Perhaps experienced players can provide screen shots of the various targeting icons? One of the icons is “board that vehicleâ€. The reason I ask is that last night I ordered a team to fire on a specific target. I pressed SPACE and highlighted that enemy with a red icon. But instead of ordering them to fire it seems I ordered them to “move to that manâ€. Obviously I was presented with an icon but didn't recognise that it was a "move" icon instead of a "fire" icon. Is it possible to get screen shots of all the various icons. They are not in the manual. -
