  1. Checkpoint Spawn Script (help) I hope this is the correct forum... Thanks for looking at this, first of all. I am working on some spawn scripts but I am having issues with something in particular. I am wanting to be able to put down an invisible object and name it something like chkpoint_01 and spawn a check point that I have thrown together. The checkpoint sets the position of the items it creates based on the heading of the invisible object, in theory. What I don't know how to do is be able to put down multiple checkpoints and have the script look for (chkpoint_ side of the script) and if possible (01 side of the script). I know you can trim in c# but I have not been able to figure out how to read part of an object name inside ARMA or a suitable alternative. I might be thinking down the wrong path, but I would like to drop an invisible object as it is part of a mission package. The final objective of the script(s) are to: * Add Invisible Object to map with checkpoint_01 name * checkPoint.sqf file initiated on initServer.sqf * checkPoint.sqf Loads in Check Point item(s) based on heading of Invisible Object. This could include vehicle, gate, sandbags, barrier and AI. * checkPoint.sqf fires when players are within set range and despawns when they leave set range to save server memory and processing Any help would be appreciated with proper helper(s) being noted in the code and readme files.

  3. They really need to rename these forums. I keep putting things that are a like in the different forums and they are wrong. The title says "Discussion on editing CPP's, SQS', SQF's and getting your work from O2 to Arma 2 & the standalone expansion Operation Arrowhead" so I assumed wrong again.   4. perfect! I am doing an amphib landing from off the coast of Lingor and this may make the perfect opening as the players hit the beach. I had scripted some LGB on the ground with triggers that blew the LGB as two sets of Harriers flew over.

    CO16 Insurgency

    Nassau Amphibious Ready Group, 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit Insurgency - Edited by Chief The tip of the Presidential sword, a Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), is being deployed off the coast of Lingor Island, a puppet Island state in Central America. As of now, conditions are peaceful, but that could changed with the unrest of the current regime. If called to land, the MEU is self contained with soft vehicles, armor, attack and utility helicopters and Harrier jets, all operation off of the LHD. The mission is still unknown, but the MEU is ready for almost anything, including the evacuation of the US Embassy, securing beach heads, and offensive/defensive operations. The island State of Lingor is a jungle setting with hills creating valleys on the map. Small villages dot the landscape. There is a large waterway network that small patrol boats could take advantage of, especially in the insertion of US Marines on missions. There is a LHD ship and escorts perched off the coast supplying the push onto the island. The situation is fluid, and I can't really say more. *Note this is an Arma 2 simulation. It is explaining the bases behind the next map I am working on. The map uses dynamic spawns created based on player positioning, distance, direction of the eyes of the player. It spawns enemy soldiers, heavy guns, vehicles and other items. The island is brought to life with civilians, vehicles and critters. This is based on the wonderful Insurgency Map, reworked for a harder experience. This new (hardcore rule-set) requires additional team work to take over Red squares. It includes an option for additional AI enemy combatants and includes additional forces in strong point areas. This map has an addition of USMC TO&E assets with some of them that respawn on short to long timers if shot down, destroyed or abandoned. The A-10 and Uh-60 AI Controlled bird have been removed and replaced with aircraft more suitable for a USMC flavor. Small patrol craft are being added. The current state of the mission is about 60% complete. I am trying to rework respawn scripts on boats attached to the LHD to get them to respawn, but as of yet I have not been able to get the LHD 100% working for a true Amphibious Landing with all assets spawning and operating off the LHD.
  6. anyone know how I can get the boat to despawn after someone is out for 5 seconds and respawn back in the lift or add a new boat once one is let down from the life?   8. You got farther than me. I cant get the Secondary Ops Manager to give me more than a single mission. Once I complete one, never get another.
  9. Look into this mission located HERE It dynamically spawns troops, vehicles and static guns on top of roofs. I have adapted it for use in my missions as the majority of my AI with just a few static spots for AI in key areas with various amounts of troops. Works like a charm.
  10. Hello, I am hoping someone can help me out. I am trying to add Side Missions through the SOM that repeat every so often. The mission I have relies on the radio already so I would like for them to pop up by themselves after a set time + random time. I have found some information and even tried an add on and nothing works quite right. I can get it working but it seems to stop after a mission is successful. Anyone have any suggestions or tips I would greatly appreciate it. I can get artillery, supply and air support working great, but I wasn't looking to run them on this map. The Side Missions would fit in perfect for the ambiance I am trying to create. Thanks

    I am using your FOB in my upcoming 10th Special Forces Group - Insurgency map. It made an excellent patrol base for the unit to attach themselves too while operating in that area.
