  3. Wondering if anyone can help with P3D texture changing. I'm using the program MoveObject to change a texture path to a custom one. Everything works fine without any errors yet when I add the model to a unit in my config the unit in game is invisible. I can't understand why as I've seen people doing the same thing and nobody has reported this issue. Changing the texture using this command which reports no errors and changing the paths correctly. MoveObject ia_sniper.p3d a3\characters_f\common\data\ghillie_woodland_co.paa AAF_D\data\AAF_D_Ghillie_IA.paa Thanks!

    Yeah I'm not hex editing the P3Ds. Just using MoveObject to try and repath the texture file as some of the models do not have hiddenselections. It is the only way I can see getting it to work. I've noticed other people with addons have got it to work, whether that is through hex editing I don't know.

    Thanks for that link Kju. I've found the reason why the model is not working. aaf_d\data\ia_sniper.p3d: No geometry and no visual shape I searched and found a thread that said it was an issue with BinPBO not adding the binarized .p3d in the pbo. So not sure if it is the MoveObject program causing the model issue. Maybe the program isn't ArmA 3 compatible yet?

    Can you explain why the _co is necessary and why something as simple as that would cause the model not to work? Also it didn't seem by the way he wrote it that he confirmed that was the issue, it was a question. I will give it a test tomorrow.

    Thanks for replies. I was actually using the default PAA file which does have alpha channels. But even the woodland variant has alpha and that seems to be the one all the ghillies are using for now. I've tried resaving and using different bit setting but that didn't appear to work either. As for the name I've not had any problem with renaming the texture files. I've only heard renaming the P3D can cause problems. I've noticed that the MoveObject tool saves the paths in lowercase letters. Could that have any effect if some of my paths and textures are capitals? It doesn't seem to effect with configs or anything but maybe with the P3D? I've just tried linking it to the original woodland PAA and that also does not work with the new path. Before saving AAF_D\data\AAF_D_Ghillie_IA3.paa After P3D compiled aaf_d\data\aaf_d_ghillie_ia3.paa Tried doing a 24bit version without alpha layers and still didn't work.

    I really have no intentions of going into BluFor and OpFor retextures, at least not for now. This addon is going to be reaching 100MB by the time I'm finished with all the retextures and there is tons of coding, so I think I've done enough for now :)

    Added the LAT guy in 1.1. I missed it out in 1.0. As for the BluFor vehicles I'm not sure what you mean? You want BluFor and OpFor vehicles texturing like the Desert Indep camo? Will be releasing the update after release to see if there is anything else I can add.

    I think these suit both environments quite nice, but I would like to see some desert maps with these in when they get released. Updated this post Update on what I've been doing for version 1.1. All units are now fully kitted out in AAF Desert. That includes helmets, hats, vests, backpacks, uniforms and weapons. Vehicles are also in the works as you can see from the above image but I will wait for release to skin the rest of them. I've also renamed a lot of the classes and images as I got a bit confused with some of the class names I gave them. I didn't expect to make this addon as big as it is, the addon size has grown from 25MB to 71MB. There will be now 4 addon files in total. aaf_d // Main mod folder aaf_d_veh // Vehicle mod folder aaf_d_wep // Weapon mod folder Lastly aaf_d_rep which is an optional replacement pack. It will replace the standard AAF with the desert ones. So you will always see desert skins on the AAF. Not long left till release then hopefully I will be ready to release. I'll Keep posting updates for people interested.

    I've done my own test with my units and with standard. I don't think its an issue with my addon. It seems like its the game itself. It is detecting that you are carrying a weapon and pointing it outwards towards someone else. So it is keeping the space there to avoid weapons going through the model. That's why you can clip in from behind or sides but not the front. Interesting. Maybe a dev could comment on this :P Pointing weapon at a unit without a weapon. Now Neither of us have weapons. Both units have weapons. See the distance. Now only one unit has a weapon. See distance again.

    Can you go into further detail about this? I haven't tested them in-game that much except for viewing. I will take a look tomorrow and hotfix if it is a bug. As for the weapons I was going to skin them and probably will. Might wait for the full release to see what else comes then I'll do it all at once. Along with the backpacks and hopefully camo helmets. Nice screenshots. Nice to see what other people can do :)

    Check the screenshot gallery if you want to see some of the units without any shadows, click the actions button when you hover over the image and click view full screen if you want to see larger images. Anyone else good with the camera feel free to post some here.

    I made a desert retexture of the AAF. I noticed nobody had done that yet, I really wanted to reskin all of the classes since I'm sure we will be getting some more desert environment maps.   20. Thanks for reply. I was running the latest beta patch ARMA2_OA_Build_106400. I returned to an earlier beta patch which seemed to fix all my problems. Bit odd.
