    Sooo, the real-time 3D editor - it's much more than I expected!!!! Very nice. And I hope it's not gonna be available only during multiplayer sessions, I hope to get an additional button in editor - something like "Splendid Zeus" =)).

    Why AI doesn't fly in straight lines no more? I mean in A2 if I wanted to AI controlled helicopter make a simple flight over landing strip all I had to do is place a flying heli at one end of the strip and put a waypoint on the other - and beautifull shots of helicopter flying 3 metres high over the landing strip is guaranteed. But now it's trajectory is never straight, and the higher you set him to fly, the worse it gets, i.e. if you set him to fly at 50 metres his path is only slightly curved (he always goes right for some reason), set him to fly at 500 and his trajectory is more like a semicircle, and if you set him at 1000, just watch him fucking go =) - it gonna be circles, eights and laces. Is this intended so AI doesn't look so robotic or is it another buggy thing?

    Obviously your knowledge about bullets is based on some hollywood movies. In reality an average bullet loses its form and significantly changes trajectory even if shot through an apple or banana. I shot a hollow rubber ball from SKS once - bullet's trajectory has gone at least 10 degrees left from the starting one and it was obvious that it lost at least 1/3 of its speed (it was a tracer). Watch some youtube, ffs.
  4. OPREP said that "At the time of full release ... the protection parameters were set up together for both the soldier of a predefined class and his equipment". I didn't understand - is this still true or this approach was ditched and now only equipment matters?

    Not just now - it is so for a long time already. But what DNK talking about, I think, is that in game you have to shoot some units 3-4 times at point blank range to kill them, and that's what makes this game frustrating sometimes. You sneak up to a couple of enemy soldiers - they no farther than 15 metres - you think "Ha-ha, I've got ya", you aim, you rapidly shoot 4 times at one of them and already changing your aim to another one, but you missed one of the shots and he turns around instantly and kills you with the first bullet. Curtain drops. Ragequit. :)
  6. Well then I guess I'm the most unlucky person in the world =). A couple of my tries ended with last autosave (after you blow up the truck) occured right when at first Ifrit GMG and then a helicopter already locked me down, so every load finished with me dead in next second. And I was on foot, mind you, NOT in the vehicle. And what about blowing up the truck before capturing it? It should be "Mission Failed" or it goes in some other direction, not continue like nothing happened, and when you arrive at hiding point Miller (or whoever that was) telling you to blow it up.
  7. So basically the only solution to successfully end this mission is to know what will happen next and to put yourself out of harm's way before anything happened. This is called plain and simple - bad game design.
  8. Ok, here we go - from simple but immersive and pretty well made Survive we came back to broken and unplayable Red Harvest, I mean Adapt. How do I play side missions? Why my gear always gets taken from me? Where did my NVG gone - I need them to complete side missions in Bomos. Why is accidentally blown up supply truck didn't end mission with failure? Why those stupid fucking AI's don't listen to my commands and just stand there in the middle of the road where I just put explosive charge? Why do I have to use exploit to be able to finish Supply Network - Too many unpleasant questions already and I only finished 5 missions. I gave 10/10 to Survive. To Adapt I give 0/10 for now and will not be playing further - have to wait in hope that most major bugs and mechanics will be repaired.

I have a question: If i'm starting dedicated server from game directory and trying to connect to it via LAN, I still need to have an internet connection for my client because steam needs to be in online mode for some reason (check my sig ;) ). I don't need internet for the server in this case, just for the client. But if I'm using standalone dedi server I also need internet for the server. So now as I have two computers connected by LAN one of which runs dedi server I need TWO internet channels. Friggin great. So the question is - is it worth making a ticket on feedback tracker or this is done intentionally and not considered by devs as bug?

    Sounds of distant firefight are like audible chocolate. In editor I placed a bunch of OPROF vs BLUEFOR units fighting over Agia Marina, placed myself as civilian on a hill somewhere 1km to the west of it, clicked "preview" and just sat down in awe, listening to this pure awesomeness. Thanks guys, incredible work. Are you participating in contest with this gem?

    Don't get me wrong, I'm not against situations when you can randomly withstand a couple of rounds instead of dropping down from the first one every single time, but if this randomness adds up with bullets, randomly passing throug limbs without inflicting any damage, adds up with random hits not causing even that ridiculously looking twitch, adds up with random chance for AI to kill you with the first shot, adds up with many more randomnesses of which you don't know or don't uderstand how they work (because there is no documentation about it or even devs don't know about it either) - thats when I want to scream "WHAT DA FUCK?!?!?!" and demand my money back :).

    And that is exactly why people playing games. If it wasn't so what's the point then - every game would be just a roulette. Football or hockey or Counter Strike are so popular exactly for this reason - they have a certain well defined rules and mechanics - no one would compete in archery if your victory would depend on some random roll of dice. Actually I think you're just trolling.

    That's NOT all we need =). We need much more that just that. And even before better reactions we need proper damage system that doesn't rely on some d20 dice rolls. Yesterday I played Night Showcase and survived 7 !!! hits (no extended armor) - imagine if every time I was hit I would fall and had to get up. Even without it I felt what I thought I would never feel - burning desire to ragequit and never start this game again.

    I'm using stable branch. I've placed two of every soldier unit that there is on the map (disabled AI of course) and shot them with 9mm Rook from point blank range right in the face (using bullet tracing script) - there was none that wears a helmet and dropped from the first hit, it always took two or even three hits to kill. Only ones that died from one hit was those who don't wear helmets. And another thing - something is reeeeeeally wrong with OPFOR Heli Pilot and Heli Crew - it takes 5-6 6.5mm bullets to the torso and 17-20 !!! bullets to the leg to kill them. Fucking ridiculous. Very dissappointed with desicion to include this completely broken system back to the stable branch. A game is practically unplayable. Now we'll have to wait hell knows how long for it to be right again.

    What Difficulty settings do you use?

    Regular modified. 1. Enemy AI Unit sliders to 0.3, Friendly AI Unit sliders to 0.5 2. Sub-options set to match veteran. 3. No other tweaking.

    Multiplayer dying fast??

    This song about something dying I'm hearing since I first laid my eyes upon gaming magazine some 20 years ago - PC gaming is dying, adventure genre is dying, racing/flight/combat simulators are dying. This stupid song is as old as world itself. And this "map full of nothing" bullshit - what exactly there should be? Crashing helicopters, carpet bombings, thousands of enemy soldiers and collapsing skyscrapers at every square inch of the map as default ambience? Or what? I honestly don't understand. Could someone complaining please elaborate on this?

    That reminded me. We got this spetsnaz dude who have his livejournal blog. So he told a funny story: during some especially intense firefight with some terrorists he suddenly felt that something hit him right in the face. "Shit" - he thought, falling down, "So here it is, fuckers killed me". He felt blood running on his chin, only feeling was a bit weird - like some insect crawling. 30 seconds later, realising that there is no pain still, he understood at last that it was only some big bug went to his face at full speed. And i'm talking about real special forces guy here dropping dead of a bug hit =)). So I really would prefer the old shitty one-hit-you're-dead system instead of new half-magazine-in-your-face-and-stiil-alive one.

    I wonder where do you guys get this? I mean have you ever got a gunshot wound or wound that you can compare to the instantly appeared hole in your body? Do you KNOW how it fucking hurts? Yeah, some people still can be pretty effective fighters even with a couple of holes in 'em, but the most just drop down even if hit in the arm, 'cause it hurts really really bad. So i prefer cwc/arma 2 system where you have to hit a guy 2-3 times max to drop him, and not arma 3 where it literally takes half a 6.5mm magazine sometimes to kill some AT guy.
