    Try uninstalling completly and re installing it up again. I had troubles before cause I installed the new version on top of the old one.

    Grazie Mille per il vostro aiuto! Now I have 2 questions: Ive tried exporting from World Tools my objects which represented tree lines, using objects (p3d) from OA. When importing into Visitor3 using scripts, add, import objects, I get a message informing that 5547 objects were rejected. Is that because my objects come from Arma2 OA?

    Great Tutorial, thanks for the effort you´d put into it! I have one question tho; I think I´ve missed something somewhere. On the last part, when you import the .ext from World Tools into Visitor, I can´t find "Import Objects" under Scripts. Is it a custom script or something? Where can I find it?

The previous one used to load up fine, but now I get an error message when loading: I have Windows7 64bits here if thats the case.     It slowed down for me too after changing to arma2oa.exe as buldozer. Also, anything, any change I do in visitor 3 regarding objects, say position, size, adding new objects, it takes forever to render in the already connected buldozer. Is this normal? I mean, I add a new object, then click in buldozer to check it out, and it takes forever to come up with its representation, being ¨not responding¨ while so.
  13. Hi guys, I'm trying to create the maps for Helmand Province, but I have a few questions and need a little guidance. Ok, lets start with the basic: Im running Win7 64bit via Bootcamp on my new Macbook pro 2.53Ghz. For those who doesnt know what bootcamp is, I can say its not an emulation. It creates a new partition in my disk, using windows file system and fires up a regular installation like any pc user. I have installed here: -Global Mapper 12 -Microdem (really that difficult to use) (Tried installing 3dm, but it crashes at startup) -BIS Tools 2 -Google Earth Pro timed trial -Arma2 OA, @Ace... I found some really great resource maps fro USGS site that includes: -SRTM 90m DEMs -ASTER Level 1b -Soviet 1:200k Topos -Landsat ETM + Raw data. http://afghanistan.cr.usgs.gov/flash.php (Choose your data from the dropdown menu, click the map quad you want if available, then download immediatly icon from the left index below the drop down menu.) But now I find myself in trial & error. Cant get the work done and need some guidance if anyone is willing to help.

So, after testing a few maps I came to the conclusion that a Helmand Map including more than one city is not actually possible, so Im changing the project to Musa Qaleh, a remote DC on the northwestern area of Helmand. I`ve already downloaded and applied a Hi-Res Satellite Texture and also drawn the Mask in PS. Everything is working fine! :) Next step is to drop objects and more vegetation. Mmm..I still need to learn that!   16. Its been almost 2 months I´ve started to dedicate myself to editing and all I could do so far is to wrestle against the system. I´ve already freshly re-installed everything 3 times, 3 times I´ve extracted all those pbos, more than a thousand times I´ve imported .xyz into Visitor3, hundreds of hours into satmaps editing, but never, not even a single time I could load up any data into Arma2 (except for the TUT\TUT_Samplemap ofcourse). This time, I would like to do it right for once. Alright. I´ve reinstalled BIS Editing Tools so I now have a fresh P:\ Drive. 1- Can someone help me setting it up so I can use arma2oa.exe as buldozer? 1.1- Will this allow me to use VODOL 49 files, for example, those used in Takistan Map? 2- What pbos exactly should I extract/derapify and copy inside P:\? I´m running everything in a small bootcamp partition, so size matters here, whatever space I can save, more space I can play in. 3- I then would like to load up my xyz heightmap, my satmap and a mask containing only one texture: sand (from takistan). PBO in everything and load it up into Arma2 to test. It sounds simple, but I´ve spent almost 2 months and I´m still begging for help....     Now that I have it working, how should I handle my map´s config.cpp in order to use takistan objects and textures? I´ve tried modifying a few bits from Takistani´s pbo´s config.cpp, but there are a hellful of a lot info I dont know what to do with. I would specially like to the the horizon and weather bits, but how about the rest of it? Also, for me to use takistani extracted textures, do I also have to extract them pngs inside the paas? Ive downloaded my map´s new sat-image via Universal Maps Downloader, but ended up with and incredibly huge merged file, weighting more than 3Gbs. How should I handle that file, knowing that photoshop didnt and wont open a file that large? Thanks mates, Cheers
  19. These are the first ingame screenshots. The map currently has only a low-res satmap and only 1 texture, which is grass. The next step I plan to import a new sat map, high-res, and re-do the mask with takistan textures. I will also tweak the heightmap, it looks way too smooth.     Finally some good news! I could load it up into Arma2. Got to flown a little bit, and mess with the mission editor too. Thanks to everybody that have been helping me here, and special thanks to Bushlurker ofcourse. Now I think I'm right on tracks! I'll post some shots later and will keep updating here while developing. cheers

    OA Pbo's for mapping

    I´ve copied arma2oa.exe, renamed it to buldozer, copied oa´s bin folder to P:\ drive, but as soon as buldozer launches, it crashes up. Undoing it and I can as usual load up my map. Could anybody make visitor3 it work acording to the solution above? Solved! Buldozer OA wont load without sat imagery loaded. Thanks guys!

    Nice call there mate!!! The XYZ plugin for L3DT is MUST! The good thing about L3DT is that it is flexible enough to allow 3d heightmap editing with heaps of features.
