  1. Well I for one am quite reserved about this.

Come on guys :P This is ARMA!!! If we don't particularly like anything, or wish something to be different, we have (in my opinion) the best public modding community found in any other game. We should leave it to ourselves to create new things to satisfy our every wants.

At least in this way, the futurism approach allows for BI to expand their perspectives, and exercise their creativity (which might not be the case if they simply just recreated what we all know and see). It might mean we can experience totally new campaigns never played before, and use tactics never thought of prior to Arma3.

Give it a chance is what im saying :) Besides, atleast it aint some BF2142 bollicks where the futurism approach completely destroys immersion. I for one am just happy to see a M14 variant as one of the weapons to use in Arma3 :D

Trust me everyone here will give it a chance, the arma community is known for it's "open mind-ness" and "bickering" including myself, gives us something to do. This game could be set in 1200's or the 3200's and everyone here would still give it a chance :)

  2. Yeah because that's never been done before in a game. Why do people want the same old stuff? That reminds me of a comment Sion Lenton made during a video commentary just before OFP:RR came out. He said the reason they set it in the desert is because that's where most other games were set at the moment, and they didn't want to 'alienate the player'.

As if the player is going to get dropped into an environment like Chernarus and go "What the hell is this??? What are these tall green things everywhere? WHY IS NOTHING BROWN?" and keel over.

I'm not worried about other games I play ArmA because it's a simulator, it allows myself to simulate today's conflicts and have fun doing it. I want it set in Afghanistan and Iraq because thats what we are involved in today and it interests me. Thats my opinion I don't care what other games have done with those, I would like if ArmA3 did the same but created it as a simulator not a FPS (run & gun) show.

  3. Well mate like all ArmA's and OFP, regardless of when its set, Mod's will be created to bring it back to this day and age, I do not agree with it being set in the future, they should of created it around Afghanistan and Iraq with some actual looking Afghanistan and Iraq maps etc. or created a new style of frontlines such as North Korea set in 2012 or something along those lines but guess not.

  4. Awesome looking units. However, I did notice one of the units sporting a ranger scroll and I would just tell you that the Rangers do not wear their scrolls on mission, espcially a colored one. Just pointing that out to you. Great work.

I believe the scroll is to demonstrate the function of the placing of the XML patches (Clan Patch) If I'm not mistaken.

  5. Dude what the fuck? You took bad company 2 sounds for the abrams? Dude I play that game so much I recognize every single fuckin sound. Explain why the arbams sounds like BC2 that much!

    Dude please dont dissappoint me.

How about some manners and show some respect, people put time and effort into this, who cares where the sounds come from.

Anders great work, keep it up.

  6. The mods coming along quite well mate, a few things that I personally think may need some work is when you hit contact the environment (sonic cracks, ricochets, distance fire etc.) doesn't sound that crash hot, my suggestion would be to watch Ross Kemp: Return to Afghanistan on youtube or pretty much any firefights on live-leak and take some pointers on the environment, but either way mate I've been using your mod since it came out and its doing me good so far. cheers for your efforts mate.

  7. Great map, as always from A Warfare map.

One question: Are you planning on adding the feature (That I saw from another Warfare Map) to spawn into your squad mates so you don't have to return all the way to base?

it's possible to do, but I can't remember the mission that had this feature...

    insurgency by pogoman :)
