I see. My goal was to "send a message" to people missing mod Y even when we play with mod X. So that I KNOW that everyone has all maps and all the stuff, all the time. I dont know how many times I have chosen a mission and one or two guys "disappears". Especial when it comes to maps.

Using a fresh user config file makes ASR show the message of the day, so at least it works. Question on the "reject player" feature: When I log in without the required mods I as a client do not get kicked. I get a pop uo top right corner say that expansion/mod ace not found. Is this how it is supposed to work? Should the reject player not kick? Should it look like: #define ASR_requiredaddons "cba","ace" or #define ASR_requiredaddons "@cba","@ace" EDIT: Ah. The name is the name of the .pbo-file inside the addon folder? Like f ex ace_main ? EDIT 2: Is the "reject player" just a message to everyone on the server? So that you know that someone is missing something? So far I have only been able to test this alone, so I wouldn't know. :)

Is there a commandline trigger the I can use to disable all kinds of dialogs in SU? I use a web based control panel to update my server, and it runs SU with a path to the .exe + the needed commandline. Somtimes the update stops because SU has a "question" for the user, but there is now way to answer when SU is remotely triggered; I just se the dialog standing there in the update log of the web based control panel. Something like a -nodialogs f ex. ? or -justupdategoddamnit ;) -
I installede ASR on my server last night. The server runs the beta that SU-supplies. I aws looking forward to the message of the day feature and the reject player without certain mod feature. None of this worked. ASR was innstalled on the server via SU, and have checked the content of @ASR and userconfig. @ASR is also in the servers commandline. What could be wrong?

ASR_AI was updated on the SU-network today. However I had to delete asr content from the userconfig folder to get the game to start up (Else it would give a error). Is this expected SU-behavior? -

Referring to official mods. The problem is solved (usually happens when i post about it!). I made changes in the "wrong" game profiles place; in the top one, not the one available in the main window. If that is understandable. Seems like the only way to make a new profile "stick" is to right click in the main window when "Game Profiles" lower tab is open? A little hard to explain with all the duplicate GUI stuff :) And thanks for the very swift reply, SB! ---------- Post added at 02:15 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:57 PM ---------- NEW QUESTION: I'm looking for a fully automated server fed by SU. I can make the update run automatically, but it stops as long as the server.exe is running. Anyway to force SU to take down the server before update? My server control panel will start it up again. Or at least thats my plan. -

I'm trying to set custom paths (modpath in particular) for my server mods. However, they don't seem to stick so all mods end up in the default and wrong location. Any tips? Using 2.9.5pre -

Thanks Sickboy, this is excellent. I have run into a snag however; can anyone with good PC knowledge help me? The control panel show the output of SU-working (in webbrowser, remotely). It ends like this: Looks like SU first run. Anyway around this. Im using Remote Desktop Connection to the server here locally and SU fires up just fine. It kinda looks like this is happening on a "virtual" user account. EDIT: Got it to work, had to change user for the control panel.exe in services config-thingy. -

I use a web based control panel to launch/stop/restart my arma2server, and to let others to the same, remotely. It has support for remote updating through exe/commandline. Is it possible to script SU this way? IE point to the SU-exe with some commands that auto updates? -

[RESOLVED] Session lost after 1 sec on my own dedi server
virtualvikingx replied to virtualvikingx's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
SERVER: I tried moving the addons folder back to "Arma 2" folder. CBA then is grumpy because of missing CA-content. I cant start Arma 2 proberly on the server, as it has no gfx-card; Im using remote desktop connection. I now understand the arma 2 is detected automatically by OA 1.60 - does this also apply for the server.exe. Its not working for me. (steam still has a option for CO-launch client side - can this be removed?) EDIT: Im also getting "kicked" and session lost on other servers - immediately - can anyone confirm that the error in the RPT-log is related to my client and not my server? EDIT2: Turning of signature check om my server let me in. What does this mean? :) ---------- Post added at 09:22 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:33 PM ---------- Culprit: Did a reinstall of BAF. All good now. I have updated my server to 1.60 (87548). I run CO ON THE SERVER in that I have moved the "Addons" folder from Arma 2 to Arrowhead main folder. (Is this OK?) I'm getting session lost when I try to connect. RPT in server is: My client is updated through normal Steam procedures. Server is running CBA and ASR_AI. Help! :) -

I use voice activation. Don't understand why more people don't use it. I don't have ADHD, so I mute my mic when needed. Feels much more immersive. Talk = talk Radio = push button Exactly like in real life. -
2 servers running from the same folder (2 servers 1 install)
virtualvikingx posted a topic in ARMA 2 & OA - Servers & Administration
Is it possible and stable to run 2 arma2co-servers (dedi) from the same folder? Or do I need to have 1 complete CO-folder for each server? Of course .cfgs, profiles and all that are kept seperate. -
