    ArmA 3 Online

    It is my suggestion that BIS make a military MMORPG. Where the player logs in creates his character, chooses a faction and ranks up (instead of leveling up) and earns money by going out on missions. I've played FFXI, WoW, SWG, Aion & FFXIV and if BIS made a military MMORPG I would definitely pay-to-play it each month. They would probably have to change the game engine. I doubt the current one could handle 3000+ players on each server plus all the NPCs and still allow people to see thousands of meters. The maps themselves are large enough to handle that many people running around. A city the size of Zargabad could easily boast a population of 3000 or more and so could Chernarus. There would need to be a few other changes made, like allowing people to use /emotes. Various changes to the UI to support parties (squads). You would need lots of daily quests and missions to keep people busy. PvP is a MUST HAVE. You would need GMs to keep things running smoothly. Just think World of Warcraft…but with guns and tanks and shit. I just think BIS is missing out on a lot of income. With the popularity of MMORPGs if they could get one that kept true to the spirit of OFP > ArmA > ArmA 2 they could make a fortune. ArmA 3 Online - I would play that!     @Woopy RP-Mods has Chernarus Life Ultimate. You can role-play as a bicycle delivery guy, a truck driver, a bus driver, a lumberjack or a miner. Also a criminal or a police officer. There's also Zargabad Life and City Life 2.

I would like to request a North American F-86 Sabre so we have something suitable to go up against Martin's ArmA1 converted MiG-15 I am pretty sure that someone out there has an F-86 either in the works or already completed and for whatever reason hasn't released it (maybe they don't feel it's ready to unveil to the public). But pleeeeeese, we really could use an addon like this. =^.^=,,,

    User mission requests!

    I have a request for a SP/2-player coop mission, based on the game theHunter. Here's the scenario… Early morning in rural Chernarus, you and your buddy wake up in your cabins. You eat breakfast and gather your provisions and head out in your trusty pick-up truck (or ATV). Today's mission - Going Huntin' The way it should work is you and your buddy (if you're doing coop) are out in the early morning forests of Chernarus looking for wild animals to hunt. Rabbits, wild boar, wild goat (I really wish we had some deer addon to use). You're not allowed to hunt people's livestock…you do that you're liable to get an arse full of buckshot from some angry local (or he might call the cops). In your cabin you should find a gun cabinet (ammo crate) that lets you choose your weapons for the hunt. Rifles, shotguns, pistols. - CZ550 Hunting Rifle, Lee-Enfield rifle, M1014 (with your choice of slug or shell ammo), Colt 1911 pistol or the revolver. If we wanna use some addons the Kolzice CZ584 is ideal, so would the Mauser Kar98K. The map should be populated with ambient civs and maybe a few scripted civs you can talk to and a few driving to work (so it seems like the map is a real place). Maybe a local shop where you can go get some coffee and hints on where to find different game. I've noticed a lot of deer stands along the edge of fields on Chernarus…maybe those would be good locations to start looking. As you hunt these animals you'd gain points, each one worth a different value depending on how challenging it is (I really wish we had a deer addon). You should definitely lose points for shooting at people's livestock. Shooting up people's cattle isn't very sporting (maybe trigger some cutscene where the local cops come and arrest you if you do this). Variables should include time of day to start the hunt, weather, fog (maybe a dynamic weather & fog option for more realism). Mission should end when you've accumulated a set amount of points, or maybe a time limit. Also there could be an option in your action or radio menu to end the session whenever you like. This would be more of a relaxing and exploring mission. Chernarus has some really beautiful countryside and would be a great place to go hunting in my opinion. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- I really wish we had more wild animals (non-livestock) to hunt like deer, elk, turkey, duck, pheasant. We also need to improve 'wild animal' behavior. Most animals in ArmA2 are domesticated and just mill about unafraid of humans. They don't make very good animals to hunt…not very challenging shooting a cow standing in the middle of an open field. Wild animals should behave more like the rabbits. They tend to hide a lot and run away from humans if they detect you.

    I like the Sahrani civs with the Sigma Vehicles pack personally. Oh, by the way…I went through and downloaded almost all of the wheeled vehicles for ArmA 1 and played around with them in ArmA 2. I was surprised at just how many of these old A1 addons will actually work in A2. Some had minor errors, but most were still playable…at least in the mission editor.     It would be nice if someone took the time to make a fully populated urban map complete with skyscrapers and everything and maybe some ambient civs traveling the streets below. Although I would say that if you used the USEC Bell 206B it would have been better. =^.^=,,,

    Sorry, but it's just…if they think it's not fair why don't they just download GLT Missilebox too? If everyone has it, then all's fair… This is just my opinion, but certain addons should be considered "standard issue" meaning everyone should have them. CBA & GLT Missilebox definitely fall into that category. Either way, Isla Duala is a great island…more then just another island. Icebreakr took the time to create a whole backstory and history that goes with the island and it's units. To that end, I was wondering if anyone has considered making an Isla Duala campaign that follows the storyline laid out by Icebreakr? With missions playable on both factions (using the addons of course). =^.^=,,,

  12. @ Archamedes Is THIS what you're looking for? Maybe this will work. @PuFu Ok…maybe not possible to have only the scope area zoomed, but I have seen some addons where the perimeter of the scope was translucent black. If it can be made translucent, why can't it be made clear but slightly hazy and out of focus. Like you're focusing on the sight picture. I just hate having total tunnel vision while looking down the scope. In real life you don't close both eyes when you shoot.

    I just don't get what the argument is all about. Icebreakr works hard and always makes us incredible islands. If that means I gotta download a couple of small addons (that everyone should have already) so be it. It's well worth the download for what you're getting. @Icebreakr Don't take all their criticism too harshly. You did a great job on another great island and we all appreciate the hard work you put in on this project. Thank you! =^.^=,,,

  15. Ok…this is more of a question…than an addon request. Is there currently a mod that makes the sniper scope view like this? So that it does not completely obscure the perimeter.     I don't mind having to download a few extra addons to get this great island. Besides CBA should be standard issue by now and everyone should have it. GLT Missilebox should be a standard feature on any aircraft currently in service or under production in my opinion. Having a couple extra required addons isn't really going to hurt anyone. =^.^=,,,

    Team Shadow - Sniper Campaign

    I wish I could afford something larger than a 17" monitor and could run resolution higher than 1280x1024 because it sometimes gets difficult to spot the enemy. It's hard enough spotting common soldiers sneaking about…almost impossible to spot a well camouflaged sniper laying in wait. But honestly, I guess that's the way it would should be. :p

    I'm having some problems with the Zetaborn & Krak-B launcher. Firstly the Krak-B Launcher isn't locking on to anything. I dunno why it's not, I've tried everything that you'd normally do to get an AA or AT weapon to lock onto a target. The other problem is my Zetaborn seem to be very docile and won't attack. I placed a group of Zetaborn on the opposite side of an open field from a group of enemy soldiers and sat back as a civilian to see what would happen. The Zeta got their asses handed to them. I've tried maxing out the Zetaborn skill level, giving them waypoints to attack the enemy, changed their status to Combat. Tried it with both AI in command and myself in command and they don't seem to want to attack. They do fire off a few rounds, but nothing like what you'd expect… The only mods I had running were CBA, GLT Missilebox, Isla Duala+Units, Lingor+Units, Jade Groove+Units, Panthera. (actually I have all your islands & units in one big mod folder @Icebreakr). I've got current official patch and ArmA2CO+BAF. I'm gonna try it with ONLY Isla Duala+Units and required addons next to see if anything different happens… -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- PS: We're wondering what plane that is in this post. It looks like a olive green version of the USEC M7 Maule. =^.^=,,,

    Visitors for Arma2

    I kind of felt the same way. A race capable of traversing the universe and making its way to Earth surely would be technologically superior to us. Their weapons, vehicles and defenses should reflect this. They really do need some working ships and land vehicles, if the Space Invaders mod were updated those ships would be ideal. The little tanks however need a little work, as they keep flipping over. As for their weapons, I agree with fludblud they need to be improved. Guided missiles, higher ROF, little or no recoil…maybe some kind of personal force field to protect them from small arms fire. Teleportation or cloaking devices maybe?

With Ghost updating his awesome Vf-1s Valkyrie, SagaraSousuke releasing all those FullMetalPanic mechs, Charon's Predators & Undead mods and Icebreakr releasing his Zetaborn aliens we still need more animé, sci-fi mods and addons. I know there's a lot of Stargate stuff that is beta release and there's a little Star Wars stuff that was released, but still… Instead of everyone making a hundred different variants of the M4 or AK or reskins of units & vehicles for every country on the planet reflecting every different change in camouflage pattern. Why limit ourselves to only one reality? There are so many things in the animé & sci-fi universe(s) that could make an appearance in ArmA 2. The ability for the community to make their own missions, entire worlds and addons has always been the best feature of this series. So why not make something a little…different? -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If you insist on sticking only to this reality…why not look to the future? Leap forward 10, 20 or 50 years. Don't you think the technology will be much improved? I'm sure we'll still have weapons and wars, it's human nature (if we don't wipe ourselves out before then). It doesn't necessarily have to be alien…just futuristic human tech. =^.^=,,,

    @Fruity_Rudy I've always wanted someone to make a BE Warfare utilizing the Molatian Army in the North vs the Afrene Army in the South. Maybe with some pissed off rock-throwing african civs holding the towns in place of the guerrilla or takistani local faction?

    I've never had any problems with manually installing mods or addons so using some kind of installer is pointless to me. But I know there are some people out there that are either too lazy to do things the old fashioned way or just don't understand that there are some "required addons" they may need to get the mod to work. So for those people I can see the need to bundle smaller addons into the package. I don't get why anyone would want the Lite version though. Why would someone not want the units and vehicles that go with Isla Duala?! Unless they're running on some crappy old Win98 machine with a tiny HDD or dial-up… I do however dislike having multiple mod folders, so I've packed all your islands and the units and required addons into one giant @Icebreakr mod folder. It doesn't really matter to me either way. Whatever you choose to do Icebreakr is fine by me, I'm gonna definitely download the 1.91 as soon as it's released. It's a great island and well worth the time you spent on it. Keep up the great work and we'll be looking forward to the next release. =^.^=,,,
