    We literally just completed our first mission with the new rewrite. Our group is fortunate enough to have a very sharp person managing the medical settings balance to deliver both realism and fun. He spent three days learning about the various settings and we think we may’ve come pretty close to getting it right.

     

    1st Air Assault is still a small group with only one medic so it’s important our casualty rate doesn’t snowball, but on the other hand we play beyond basic medical settings. I’m more than happy to post our settings if you’d like to see them.

     

    The new rewrite definitely adds some interesting layers to the game, the most notable for me was hits breaking bones.

    Arma rule #13 - Some missions are simply cursed

     

    1st Air Assault originally conducted Operation Dominos a few months ago and it was plagued by AI respawning on top of players creating and humorous bloodbath.

     

    we decided as a group to replay the mission as a farewell to 2019. While the respawning enemies were fixed, ACE fastroping, which worked fine in the group practice just before the mission, brought down several aircraft with collision issues.

     

    The highlights are the quality members who pushed through everything thrown at them.

    As our first group of new members look to complete their Fundamental Skills Training course, all have remarked about the relaxed atmosphere as well as the thorough but fun training. Combined with weekly original missions, many are as happy to have found 1st Air Assault as we are to have them as members.

    ****UNIT UPDATE****

    It has been three weeks since officially opening the group and we continue to grow, fortunate enough to add quality (and pretty cool) players to the brotherhood that is 1st Air Assault.

     

    Two pilots and enough ground personnel to complete some fun and involved story-based missions, the group looks to continue its growth. We understand some players want 'instant mega-group' when considering which unit to join. To this, we would put forward the following thoughts;

    • What's more enjoyable, joining a group set in its way and treating each new week's session as a routine? Or being there as a group grows, helping create the unique experiences that comes with a new group and the incredible memories from said experiences?
    • Its not necessarily about size, but quality.

    Meeting with a village elder to make payment for intel on local cell leaders and then infiltrating insurgent-held village to apprehend said leader, just another day for 1st Air Assault.

    If you want a United States air Force super,  put a HIDF A-29 into editor, right click on it, go to "Edit Vehicle Appearance", change the skin to "USAF", get rid of the of horizon pilots duo and delete them, and put two US pilots in the plane (i use Firewill pilot suits and helmet). That's how you get a perfect portrayal of USAF a-29 super tucano in a game. That's how i play myself anyway:)


    And this is the beauty of Arma!!!

    Yesterday we shared a training video which is available for use by Arma 3 players or other groups. Here is a closer look at how 1st Air Assault conducts its basic training. Instead of reading from manuals, we ask new members to watch the video below then follow up with hands on training. Hopefully this conveys how much we appreciate our members time, both in real life as well in-game 😁
