    ArmA and Consoles

Games like ARMA2 is currently impossible to port for consoles. Even if BI wanted to either port or remake ARMA2 for consoles, none of the current consoles released have the processing power and memory capacity capable of running ARMA2. Well at least the current generation of ARMA2. Unless BI seriously water down ARMA2, removing the essence of the game eg. ballistics, AI, randomly generated content. Basically all the features that requires massive computational power. And create a version that current consoles can run, we would end up with a cheap shitty typical generic first-person-shooter than the amazing tactical simulation we have today. Personally I rather have a crap on your $2000 rig ARMA2 for PC than a crap on YOU ARMA2 for console. My 2 cent
  2. Can anyone tell me if my new system is good enough to run ARMA2 at high graphic settings with decent framerates? (30+) MSI 870A-G54 motherboard AMD Phenom II x4 945 overclocked @ 3.435GHZ (stock @ 3.0GHZ) Patriot 4 x 2GB total of 8GB DDR3 1600 RAM 2 x ASUS 1GB HD5770 graphic cards (crossfired) Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit edition My previous setup could run ARMA2 OA on normal settings with playable framerates but with big battles and lots of action going on, it would drop down to 10fps ish. With my new setup i run the benchmark, which gives me a constant 35-40fps but even so playing some missions, the game would slow down to a laggy 10ish fps. I know ARMA2 relies alot more on CPU and Memory that graphic capabilities, but would Harddrive speed affect fps? I know with a solid state drive, my loading times would be improved but would it affect fps? Should I invest in one?

Registering your copy of ARMA2 CO

Yeah I know, steam fucking sucks. Also, I've never spent more time configing a game than ARMAII, its almost fun.. spent a whole day doing this shit and I'm not even done.
  4. Well, guess BIS has done it again, after playing the demos, I decided that I would actually purchase ARMA2 CO, which is one of the few games that I ever felt worthy enough to spend money on. Only other games in these catalog would be my EVE Subscription, C&C RA2, L4D2 & L4D1, WiC, RO, the HL2 stuffs (Gmod, TF2, CSS, the Episodes)... which is the video games I purchased in the past 2 years. Only thing that held my attention for a good period of time was EVE. Then ARMAII kept me up for 3 days... (I haven't slept in 72hours thanks to this cyberized methamphetamine & other shit ;) ) So fu*k why would I want drive to Bestbuy and waste my time standing in line for a retail box when I could continue to blow clouds in the shapes of ARMAII CO? So yeaaaahhh I purchased the steam version of it. Finally got it downloaded, updated. Right click on the icons, backed up the CD-Keys separately. Then I find the option of registering your game. WHICH I SO WANTED TO DO, I love giving out information to the internet on my system specs as well as my age, sex, address, sexual orientation, what i eat for breakfast, the last time I took a dump, and of course the a sample of my urine for analysis. So, IDK, but I been prowling through the stickies and I can't find the answer. So what benefits do I get from registating the game... (if I even can), and most importantly where. What exactly is registration? PS: I read a little FPS being low and that is normal for ARMAII, but considered my system specs, any suggestions of settings? (its in my signature) Thank you for reading this concoction of words, if I seem a little sarcastic.. oh you caught me. :bounce3:
