  1. Hi Chaps, So ArmA2 & Op. Arrowhead install into the same location (C:\Program Files\Bohemia Interactive\ArmA 2) and become Combined Ops. Installing RFT, and it wants to install to C:\Program Files (x86)\Bohemia Interactive\ArmA 2 REINFORCEMENTS Anyway, I changed the RFT installation path to the same as CO... And then nothing seems to work properly... My question is, are you able to install RFT into the same location as CO? I see in the RFT installer that there's the option to just install the BAF & PMC DLCs, and a tool has been released to install these to CO should you have problems, but my plan was to install the full RFT monty into the CO installation location (I was surprised when it didn't default to the CO location and even changed 'Program Files' to 'Program Files (x86)'). I was expecting a seamless install much like when I installed OA to A2, but have been mucking about with this for a while now (several complete uninstalls and reinstalls of everything!) and seem to be going around in circles. Cheers! Bucks

    Dedicated Server & EULA

Hi All, Just dug an old laptop out and rebuilt it with Win7 Pro x64. Was thinking of using it as a test server. Spec is not great but may do just for test purposes: Core2 Extreme X7900 @ 2.8GHz 4 Gb DDR2 Nvidia Go GTX7950 Just wondering if you need to buy a 2nd copy of both A2 & A2:OA if you only intend to run as a dedicated server. If so, I probably won't bother...

    ATI cards

I too was running into the LOD issues, as well as nasty stuttering; particularly in built up areas. This was with: I7 920 @ 4GHz 6Gb (3 x 2Gb) DDR3 Corsair Dominator TwinX @ 1600 2 x Corsair F120 SSD (RAID0) Asus HD 5970 Last night, I switched the 5970 for 2 x GTX580s, and, although I have not had the opportunity to spend more than a few minutes in game yet, my brief testing shows the issues to have gone. This was having seen a friends machine (very similar spec, other than his GPU which is a GTX295) running ArmA much more smoothly than my 5970 (with regards to the built-up area stuttering). It wasn't only in ArmA that I was having issues. Some other games I play were also suffering, and now working as intended! Having had a mixture of ATI & Nvidia GPUs over the years (both desk & laptop cards), whilst I don't think there's much to chose between them on the hardware side, I have had more software/driver issues with ATI. Of course, I'm sure some have had the opposite! I know going from the HD 5970 to GTX580 SLI may not be considered a huge upgrade, certainly given the costs involved. I do have a huge feeling of relief that the games I play, now seem to play well!
