  1. Me and some of my friends have got a dedicated server recently and we're looking for a persistent, dynamic, whole island, Players and AI versus AI mission that we could run 24/7 and just be able to jump in and out of it whenever we want to while AIs fight fights against each other when we're not online.

Is there anything like that available?

  2. That's already been pointed out m8

Love to know what "-gtqueryport=2304 " does

Apparently (I just noticed) removing -gtqueryport=2304 stops any kind of RCon from being able to connect to the server.

Re-adding it back makes RCon work again.

    Fucking hell!

    I finally fixed the server.

The problem was that there was some kind of conflict in

    steamport = 2303;

    and

    steamqueryport = 2304;

I switched ports to something completely random and now it works.

  3. the server has started up ok, loaded all its addons and is in the ready state for a mission to be loaded

Are you renting a complete dedicated box or are you paying for a slot server?

The command line you are using has some oddball entries which i have highlighted in red

    -profiles=*path* -config=server.cfg -port=2302 -IP=*ip* -world=empty -gtqueryport=2304

They are either something specific that your host needs you to use or they are simply wrong.

At this point i would go back to your host and ask then to sort it

The *path and *ip* entries are edited by me to not show the IP to public, just in case. The actual command line -profiles and -IP parameters are correct.

I also removed -gtqueryport=2304 but that didn't change anything.

We're hiring a slot server from Gameservers, if that helps.

  4. Removing all missions didn't do anything.

I did what you said and here it is:

    server.cfg - http://pastebin.com/WqmizghV

    Server Command Line - -profiles=*path* -config=server.cfg -port=2302 -IP=*ip* -world=empty -gtqueryport=2304

I don't have any addons installed and I'm starting the server using provider's web interface. Like I said, I can start the server and join it. The password and hostname works correctly but after joining the server it just gives me a blank screen.

  5. Me and a bunch of my friends got a dedicated server from Gameservers provider.

I got the server to start and read server.cfg properly. Hostname and password and that kind of stuff work great.

Problem is that I can't make the server to actually start any mission.

BattleEye RCon tool reads the missions alright and I can tell the server to load a mission but it gets stuck on "creating" and doesn't show any class selection menu or anything. Just a blank Altis screen.

I've tried all kinds of different missions, some of they state specifically that they work on a dedicated server.

    Any advice?

  6. Hello BIS forum,

I'm trying to make my first mission in ARMA 3. So far it went decently and I was able to find all the answers on the excellent wiki but I stumbled upon a problem that I can't find any solution for.

I'm making a multiplayer mission and I want to move a marker to one special OPFOR player position, every time every time BLUFOR activates a trigger.

I have figured out everything except for how to get an "object" if all I've got a the unit name, of that OPFOR player. How would I do that?

I would prefer a way to do that without external scripting, if possible.

    Thanks in advance.

  7. Version 0.41

-Added Blufor and Opfor sides to begin testing PvP. Did some basic testing - seemed a lot more fun

-Added better scalars for the # of AI and lowered the default spawning number.

-Made the server refresh the AI every 30 minutes. Attempt to nix a bug with long-duration games.

    Download

I plan on adding the Capture points throughout the map this weekend. Players will be able to capture and create bases at these points. Will also probably add a money system per kill and etc.

Thanks! And as always, thanks for playing :>

    Sounds great!

Actually, what you're saying sounds a lot like my absolute favorite map for ARMA 2 "Apocalypse"

    http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?135304-SP-Apocalypse-Invade-Control-Conquer

Maybe it would be interesting for you to take a look at it.

  8. I have a small request. Would it be possible to add an option for even fewer AIs than "Few"?

It would be useful for playing Solo and for players that have crappy CPUs.

EDIT: Also maybe options for setting up which sides are present in the conflict?

  9. I have noticed that very early on, if you pick one of the sides to have DEFENDERS "At start:" YES on the initial screen, FPS is a bit heavy because i end up spawning soldiers at every static weapon across the entire map. Try it with no side having DEFENDERS "At the Start" YES. See if that improves.

I usually play without any defenders but I always play with x3 or x5 reinforcement speed so the maps get filled by units pretty quickly, and without fast reinforcements I think the mission is too slow (gameplay-wise), so I think I'll stick to Utes.

  10. Holy crap, it only took 7 minutes for me, and I only have a crappy 2mbps ADSL, are you on a 56k dial up connection?!

Pretty much. Fortunately it's going to be like that just until the end of this month.

Actually the new versions of Shapur and Zargabad don't require ACR. I just played them perfectly fine without any errors.
