  1. I was trying to install the ACE-mod for OA, but now its not working.

I followed the instruction on this site: http://robertsandiford.co.uk/ace_oa/. At first, i didnt know you had to run CBA too to run ACE, so I only downloaded the ACE and ACEX package. I installed them following the instructions on the site and then I tried to run the game. I went to expansions and checked ACE and ACEX. The game needed to restart, and when it tried that, I got a message that some sort of package of CBA was missing.

The exact message was: "Include file x\cba\addons\main\script_macros_common.hpp not found." So I went back to Addon Sync and downloaded CBA, following the instructions on the website. But now when I try to run the game, I keep getting this message. Can anyone help me?

  3. Yes, nice idea. I think though it might be interesting to make the map something more like in Far Cry 2, where you actually hold it in your hand and can look around while looking at the map. How about you actually have to pull out the map, kneel down, put the map over your knee and hold a torch over it at night (or not when using NVG's), while still being able to look around using the alt-key? I think that would be much more realistic.

  4. The taki scenario surely is original, but bear in mind that a lot of people who play arma 2 are (ex-)military. If you want to make the player able to put himself in one of the taki's shoes, he needs to understand why they want to be mujahedins.

That is quite hard as their culture is so different from ours (mine?), unless you try to do this by showing misbehaviour of the US military and the opression and abuse of the taki people by them (i am not telling they are, i hope you get the point). And that is where people might/will get offended.

So think twice before you put a lot of effort into a campaign and find out that a lot of people dislike because of the theme, even though the campaign might be fun. Your call.

  5. I think there already is something like that in Arma 2. AI tends to stick to the road sometimes, maybe only if they think that is the fastest way. But sometimes they dont and your Abrams get flipped over in the middle of the desert.

Anyway, it would be a great idea, especially in urban areas. Just think about what would happen if multiple vehicles would be driving that road. Then itll turn into one big traffic jam.
