Am i the only one who HATES the visual style of Frostbite with a passion? Up close everything looks like a patchwork quilt, and only looks good from a distance and even then the detail is questionable, nothing looks like it has depth. I still play BFBC2, but Frostbite really irks the hell out of me. 1. Arma 3 is your new Crysis, pushing the envelope. BF3 won't be. 2. Not every game i own is on my HDD, i also have a console for those games which don't present a modding scene. 3. There are no Crysis 2 mod tools, but there is CryENGINE3 available for free, so indirectly it has modding. 4. DICE have stated that the modding scene is "dying", conveniently leaving out the part where devs refuse to release modding tools themselves. Its all in preparation for DLC, and thats why this is such an issue, they're all chasing the $$$ represented by DLC, and i personally do not like the trend. Crytek also said that at some stage during Crysis 2 development...and that didn't turn out as good as it should have. -

NOTE: Arma DLC's still contain far more content than CoD DLC, and are invariably cheaper. I will play this, because i genuinely liked the story from MW1/2, however whether i buy or rent is question. -
What Sound Addon is the best and more realistic?

I wasn't aware actually, since i personally have nothing to compare a soundmod to. On face value i have no point of reference to legitimately say "that sounds real" or "recorded at a range" etc. -
"Stealth" ....please? How about more variety in weapon varietions as standard? For example the G36C has a silenced variant with a Eotech, and a plain variant. However as we know the G36C can take many more items, and i personally would love to see this just for varietys sake.

I actually prefer Sound Of Anders over RWS (which is still a good soundmod) since it covers the widest range of weapons, especially in ACE. Since i haven't fired a Mk16, G36, M4, I don't imagine they'd have that much of a different sound, so i like the consistency in SOA across all weapons. Run that with the other sound mods in JSRS, its amazing. edit: Wait, RWS is real recordings? Of all the weapons its applied to? Holy crap thats awesome, any way to get that for all aircraft? -

I think we should drop the whole "CoD kiddies" tirade, since its quite obvious to anyone who has some form of intelligence that 13-15 years is NOT the only age bracket in which CoD is played, and that at launch many more 24+ people turn up to buy the game. While their intelligence in their game of choice is lacking, it is neither cool nor correct to call all CoD players "kiddies". Just sayin. Wingman and proper formations yes, interactive cockpits no. No need for FSX style VC's. Nah the game still has some leverage where its still simple enough you'll get people jumping in them who don't 100% know what they're doing, but doing a good enough job at staying in the air they can't fight. Flying and Fighting in an aircraft are two completely different things Essentially what i mean is some incentive for people who don't know how to fly to simply not do it online, take some time out to practice offline since those who don't and waste air assets get incredibly irritating. For example i would like to see auto-rudder dropped to allow those with joysticks/pedals to have complete independent control over the aircraft. -

As i said, its a hand-me-down so i had no choice in the manufacturer. I'll see what the new BIOS does. Apparently i got the most updated version....LAAAAAAAME i hate dell with a passion now... -

It does kinda break the immersion when you drop a bomb and a group of enemies fall over like they were shot instead of blown up...and are still falling over after the dust settles from the explosion. -
Bullpups: 1. Not quite adept at fitting player profile so prone they look ridiculous 2. No custom reload animation, you're reloading the barrel apparently <----- I consider this more relevant and would like to see this done

Agreed, for example i love the vault, the high wall climb, side-pron and the quick weapon lowering, but sometimes player movement when walking just looks too...odd to warrent the advantages, breaks the immersion. -
I don't know where we went from female units in A3 to pedophiles, but how about they let them fix player movement first and then add the skins in after? As i said before, few will take their inclusion seriously and it will just become the new Allah Akbar.

At least it should be decent to the point where it does actually take some form of skill to fly. The flight model as is is atrocious. -

I have an 800W PSU (although quality issues are starting to arise...), power is no problem. My issue is actually getting the right DOS to overclock (since the dell stuff doesn't seem to have anything related, though its old tech, update is necessary) and sorting out cooling, since the 530 box ain't big in terms of size and tech regarding the fans. But yeah i've been tuning the in game settings for ages just to find decent frames when things get heavy, and nothing works, which is why a boost in CPU speed would be VERY welcome. -
Getting kinda tired of saying "i know that" right about now... I am aware of this fact, but if i don't have enough for a rig, and saving specifically for it, how exactly will i pay for a new OS? Or why would i want to waste an install on this POS machine... Point is, i'm updating all at once, no need for 7 atm. Not worth it.

If i knew how to set custom weapon stations, all manner of sexy configs would appear in a matter of days...did it in YSFlight, wish i could do it in Arma...but i can't.... -

Did overclocking your Q6600 make a big enough difference to warrant the endeavor? I too am going to upgrade rather soonish, but instead of A2 being the target its A3. But in the short term, if OC'ing the Q6600 does wonders, then i'll get around to doing it. It runs great on my hand-me-down system with $200 spent updating the GPU and PSU. All depends on your definition of performance is. To others here they would be unable to cope with it from previous experience. I have also run the figures on my planned PC, and they certainly do NOT add up to $3000, try $1500 or so. Considering the amount of playtime you get from A2, its worth it. -

I always assumed a gunship literally meant fitting the biggest and baddest guns you could find onto an aircraft. The name simply implies something rather BIG.

i.e me, i always seem to get shot first, even if i'm pulling the rear of a formation...and shot again as i get up...thankfully dom is revive, but still, its irritating. The good thing about this would be actually testing the skills of the pilots in landing in a hostile environment. Perhaps the heavily wounded player could simply respawn once taken to the correct spot so that he can keep playing? I mean THATS not realistic, but you've still gone through the motions of a medevac, leaving a team 2-3 (depending on method of transport on foot) men down for a time. Make it challenging. So the best way this can be implemented is if the AI is tweaked so there aren't any BS kills. I think the entire level needs to be raised in terms of quality before we can fit this in without hassle.
