ArmA3 Steam Forums are a joke.

With all due respect, that is bullshit. I started a thread to discuss the Steam forums lack of moderation and to vent out my frustration. Just because some idiot wants to derail this thread and pursue an argument with me doesn't mean I have to give in and shut my mouth.

This thread wasn't intended to argue with DJ Otacon; this is what he does though. He derails threads in order to start arguments. Anywho, back on topic!

What? You completely destroyed a thread because you didn't understand what a donation was. You can't justify that moronic behavior.

ArmA3 Steam Forums are a joke.

If he wanted to discuss the donation button, he didn't have to derail an entire thread and post hateful comments towards us. His behavior is barbaric, you just haven't witnessed it.

ArmA3 Steam Forums are a joke.

They don't, and neither does your trolling on everyone's threads. For example, the other day I announced Masaketsu's and I's UI2 mod. Otacon then derails the entire thread using disinformation (similar to what he is doing right now), trolling and flaming members because he doesn't understand what a donation is. http://steamcommunity.com/app/107410/discussions/13/46476145531730146/

ArmA3 Steam Forums are a joke.

The purpose is to improve moderation on the Steam forums as well as to discuss the funny and appalling intellect of most of its users. I posted it in offtopic for a reason, mostly to vent it out.

*sigh* This is the troll of the Steam forums... Many of you may already know. No matter how much sense one puts into their arguments, this guy just won't understand anything. -.-

ArmA3 Steam Forums are a joke.

Most complain about multiplayer performance, mainly due to playing poorly coded missions. I won't name the missions, as I'm sure we already know which ones they are.

ArmA3 Steam Forums are a joke.

Even the moderators suck. Sometimes they'd even join in with the trolling. This is also the type of service I'd expect from the Steam Workshop. I also participated in a thread where a mission "developer" wanted criticism on his new mission. After receiving a nice page of constructive criticism from a decent member on the forum, he replies unappreciatively and defends his "work". Then a common troll joins the thread, insulting the reviewer and claiming praise for the mission creator in defense that creating missions is hard work. I also see a bunch of rants claiming BI sucks and whatnot; people that have no clue how game development or programming is. I'm just thankful we have ArmAholic and the BI Forums.

ArmA3 Steam Forums are a joke.

It's full of trolls and people that lack common sense -.- There are multiple threads where people are asking what the 1.2GB update contained. It would be obvious if they either: A) Started the game. B) Looked at the news feed that appears when one views ArmA3 in their Steam Library. C) Looked at the BI Forum. D) Used Google (when people ask a question online, they are basically saying, "Can you Google this for me?") E) Stopped living under a rock.
  11. If you can do it better, then go for it. Just don't steal their already existing work. For example, when I created Hostage Rescue: Extreme, I got the inspiration from a public server where some guy had a crude setup of units thrown into the editor. The only thing keeping the mission in order was the admin enforcing that people roleplay the scenario and he instructed how to play. Of course, there's nothing wrong with that, but it's not an actual game mode, only a man with a dream, and with my abilities, I made his dream a reality. Good luck Wiki :)

    Afghanistan Map - No Name.

I love the detail in the terrain. Lots of altitude variations, great!

    UI²

Weaponstat.module is mostly implemented. In-game color customization is implemented. All previous development streams can be viewed here -> http://www.twitch.tv/zooloo75/profile/pastBroadcasts
  19. This is the best mod that has ever surfaced the modding community, and I mean that with 100% jipper. If you replace every single sound in the game with beatboxing, or mouth sounds, you have a total conversion. Go win all the moniessssssss from MANW! xD

    UI²

SITREP for tonight: Weapon HUD implemented (still need to find a way to check which grenade the player has selected). Heartbeat status changes depending if player is dead or alive. Rain effect only shows if it is raining. HUD color is now determined by the ingame color options. Game-to-overlay interaction is looking quite promising and opens many possibilities for advanced UIs.

    Legal discussion regarding Steam Workshop

Here's a process I see possible for server mod management to fit into how ArmA works. Steps: 1. Connect to server. 2. If client does not have the mods required by the server, present a screen that asks if the client would like to download the required mods, if so, download them from the workshop. 3. Go grab a snack or watch Youtube, whatever to pass time. 4. Once the mods are downloaded, restart the game with the required mods and automatically join the server. 5. Play as usual.

    Legal discussion regarding Steam Workshop

I can foresee a lot of the community's content being uploaded by random users to the SWS, unmodified, or modified without our permission. What exactly is preventing this from happening?

Well, if you'd like to be an indirect cause towards the death of the community, be my guest.

Try not to let the unappreciative people get to you Foxhound. Modders of this community should be grateful of the services brought upon by Armaholic and PW6.
