I've noticed recently that selecting group members individually i.e. F1, F2 etc... drops my framerate quite alot. Selecting group members with space or tilde doesn't cause this problem, confusing.

Hello. I'm having an issue with explosions occasionally coming through much louder than normal to the point of being very uncomfortable to hear. Here is a video demonstrating the problem. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ieWY2ZjH3eM Here are my Audio settings in game. This is the only related ticket I could find (it is closed however) - http://feedback.arma3.com/view.php?id=9676. Unsure if it's exactly the same problem I have. Might be worth mentioning this didn't occur in Arma 2 or any other game.

Hi Windies, Thank you for the suggestion, however it is already set to 'do nothing'.

Hi guys, thanks for your input, anything helps ;) I've been continuing with this and made an interesting discovery. I thought I'd try lowering Arma 3's volume in windows volume mixer to a fairly low value like 5 (from where it is normally at 30) and then adjust for the decrease in volume in Arma's sound options. Now, I could reproduce this issue pretty much consistently just starting the game, going into the editor and lobbing a few grenades which would give off really amplified explosion sounds and some that weren't. But with this little volume adjustment it at least seems to stop that from happening. I can only hazard at a guess that the volume setting in windows is conflicting with Arma 3's and perhaps is causing sounds to 'double' (or something like that) in volume.

Hoped the patch may have addressed this, but it's still happening. Getting pretty irritating.

Adopt Metro's night vision imo.

Obviously knowing that this is an alpha, but resource usage is yet again terrible and I just can't help feel pessimistic about it improving upon release. GPU usage especially yet again, often as low as 25-30%. CPU not much better.

Refresh rate lock for ArmA (Note, NOT framerate lock)
EasyC replied to marc0523's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
Maybe try making your ArmA2OA.cfg read only so it keeps the desired refresh rate. -
NVG Bug causing large squares of light on terrain
EasyC replied to -=seany=-'s topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
This is still happening, please can this get looked at. Seany did you create a ticket for this issue? I searched the title of the thread on dev heaven and can't find it http://i.imgur.com/YC9ZA.jpg http://i.imgur.com/yjXSq.jpg http://i.imgur.com/8SBa0.jpg Unless the whole lighting system has changed in a patch somehow, at night there are so many problems using NVG's in situations where lighting becomes extremely bright or dark. Launching a volley of unguided rockets in something like an SU-25 completely blinds me. What's going on? -
DayZ Zombie RPG (Unofficial Mod) Alpha
EasyC replied to rocket's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
You didn't get my point. I knew what I was doing, as I said in Stary Sobor you are quite safe up top in the shed. However even when I sniped a zombie close by with my cz, zombies from what seemed across the other side of the town came sprinting over to me. there would have been a good 30 or so. It's over the top. Whether you think there may only be a few zombies nearby that you could handle, even being spotted (let alone shooting) by one can arouse several more. You say there's no use in shooting zombies, which is ridiculous. Do you just pointlessly stealth your way in every town and grab whatever loot you can to pvp with or just kill other players and take their loot? Why shouldn't it be reasonable to go and clear a town of zombies without the risk of being swarmed. If you're idea of the play style in this mod is not to kill zombies.... why play? You can also pvp in warfare you know, but I'd like to hunt zombies and pvp in dayz. Anyway I wasn't talking about cities, Stary Sobor is a large town if that. Even the small coastal towns have a large populace of zombies. And because they're all so tightly packed once you agro one, you've agroed several. -
DayZ Zombie RPG (Unofficial Mod) Alpha
EasyC replied to rocket's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
Is there anyway to stop what seems like an entire towns supply of these olympic sprinting zombies from going for you if you shoot one. Example, stary sobor you can at least exploit them in some way by going up top of the big shed and the zombies will walk to you, but cmon I used all my cz ammo (5 clips) and half a glock clip....30 odd zombies! It's mental....if not for that shed I'd be screwed. Besides I'd be more inclined and much more comfortable approaching towns to look for loot if zombies didn't behave this way. -
Vsnyc & Triple buffering - What do most have these set on??
EasyC replied to meade95's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
Off and off, always. Screen tearing doesn't bother me compared to input lag. Besides, I can run my screen at 76hz which helps. -
Nope. But anyway, never happened before so maybe it won't again.

Hi Jarhead, No I'm unsure what caused it. I was waiting to respawn on a factory, once the counter got to zero the game crashed. FFAR rockets wouldn't have been the cause as neither blufor or opfor had heli's at the time in the game. Unless other vehicles use them? But I don't think so anyway.

Had a crash last night during a warfare game. Faulting application name: ArmA2OA.exe, version: 1.60.87.580, time stamp: 0x4ef2c80b Faulting module name: XAudio2_4.dll, version: 9.26.1590.0, time stamp: 0x49bebf9f Exception code: 0xc0000005 Fault offset: 0x0004ced0 Faulting process id: 0x11b8 Faulting application start time: 0x01cd1a186257a6c3 Faulting application path: e:\my games\valve\steam\steamapps\common\arma 2 operation arrowhead\ArmA2OA.exe Faulting module path: C:\Windows\SysWow64\XAudio2_4.dll Report Id: 39c93b86-8621-11e1-9952-1c6f65c99294 Not saying it's JSRS that caused it, but from some googling there's a few posts throughout this thread that have had the same thing. First time it's happened though since using JSRS.

I really hope this particular piece of music gets another look at, even if it's only in another teaser video ;) Although it's short it's such a beautifully, calm sounding composition. It would be brilliant to hear a longer version of it, like a proper song if that were ever possible. 78t6r1YFevE

Zargabad(Takistan?) Environment Lighting/Brightness Bug
EasyC replied to -=seany=-'s topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
Np seany. I just tried it at the normal pace and it did brighten up on the way back from checkpoint 2, I'd say it was maybe half as bad compared to running. -
Zargabad(Takistan?) Environment Lighting/Brightness Bug
EasyC replied to -=seany=-'s topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
Hi seany. I had similar results, but I've noticed this for awhile now (i.e. playing taki warfare). The brightness is extremely 'overdone' coming back from checkpoint 2 and stays like that for way too long. You'll see this in the vid I made. vtsEgr8mtvE -
It's not hard to repro. Go into a full warfare server and watch your usages tank. Not an issue when gpu usage never hits 100%, or anywhere near it. You're not alone.

Hello, getting a couple of strange issues. Noticed both firstly in warfare, but even in the editor I can reproduce the problems. Problem with FLIR is strange. If I use something with the TWS scope, or rangefinder (with tgw mod) the fps will tank and give me a laggy mouse feel, or it won't at all. If I use 'flush' shift+ keypad minus it will return to normal. I thought it was because of the tgw mod but it happens without it. Another separate issue with mouse movement and mainly with sniper rifles like the M107 is vertical movement there's a slight delay going up and down, and diagonal movement gives a strange extreme oval movement. Horizontal is fine with no delay.... Problem with the NLAW is the smoke from the rocket makes my fps collapse. Everything is very unresponsive until it dissipates. Probably happens with other launchers, but so far I've only noticed it with the NLAW, I guess because the rocket moves slower?

NLAW rocket smoke and FLIR/thermal fps drop
EasyC replied to EasyC's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
That has nothing to do with this thread. Make your own thread if you think it's a bug. -
The last time I had AI drive I was in a tank on a slope, I told the driver to reverse......*deep sigh* He spun around doing 360s on the spot. Nearly had an aneurysm. In Warfare when you see a red square on the radar and you're desperately trying to get your tank in a position to fire from, the utter hate and frustration for AI shines through.

Na looks like its TGW causing it, don't recall it happening like this before. Must have had a previous version that didn't include the option to look over the binocs. All good. -

Strange, all pressing B does is as I said, brings the bincos up to my face. I Have to right click to look through them.
