Thanks for the link but I've already checked out Dslyecxi's excellent guide. ;) Cheers

Why is this game not more popular?

As a new player of BIS games, I couldn't agree with you more. I love the freedom & realism this game offers but I believe this game NEEDS simple (yet detailed) laymans documentation covering ALL aspects of the game. From contact drills to comm's SOP to advanced editing (from a non-programmer/scripter point of view) etc. IMO the A2 & OA manuals are as good as any other game manual but this is no ordinary game! I know most of the things I've mentioned are already available within the community but if I didn't hang around here I wouldn't know about most of it!! (because it is produced at different times by different people, although appreciated it's not as fluid & comprehensive as I would like) As a new player I would say the manual needs expanding & it would be really nice for new players if the editor consisted of drop down boxes & wizards (while leaving the ability to use script for more comfortable users). EDIT: I would love one of those great big manuals, you know the ones you used to get with flight sims?
  4. Please could someone tell me if I could have an MLRS battery on the map & use them for the artillery option in the SSM (instead of using separate arty modules). Also I have used the script posted earlier in this thread (to limit the support available). That's working as intended (thanks!). Thanks in advance for any replies ;)
  5. Swoosh!, straight over their heads, Whiskey Tango Foxtrot, over. :p
  6. Ha ha. Check out his review of 'the game who's name cannot be named' without gratuitous Picards.
  7. First install arma 2, then install OA but point the install directory to your arma 2 install location ( e.g. C:\Program Files\Bohemia Interactive\ArmA 2\ ) OA will patch arma 2 to 1.7 then install itself into the same dir as arma 2. Then it will rename OA short cut to CO (combined operations). & your good to go! (Also you don't need to use the arma 2 short cut any more) EDIT: This is the method I used for my sprocket version of CO, though I can't see how it would differ with DVD. Just a little disclaimer! lol :p

British Troops DLC released & Official 1.01 Update

oh I'm sorry I didn't realise every tom, dick n harry or indeed Pauld counted as 'BIS official' (no offence Pauld & thanks for the info). I could not find any reference to an official line on the price (apologies if I missed that). Thanks for a simple non-ass hat answer ;)
  13. Well I've been loitering around the forum for a month or so before I bought CO, so I had a little bit of a leg up! (while I saw steam/retail differ unfortunately I missed info on CO :o ). No problem & Thanks again for your help :)

    Which patch would be 1.52.71816?

    Here you go http://www.armaholic.com/list.php?c=arma2_oa_files_patches_official
  16. From sprocket or steam? If it's from sprocket: Let the arma 2 download finish & install. Then uninstall OA & run the setup.exe again from your sprocket folder. When it asks you where to put OA, point it to your arma 2 folder (see my conversation with CoolFire in the above posts for clarification). If it's from steam: CoolFire's conversation with Slides may help you.
  17. You'll have to uninstall OA. When you reinstall point OA install directory to your arma 2 folder (e.g. my default dir is: C:\Program Files\Bohemia Interactive\ArmA 2). If you read just a few posts above; CoolFire already walked me through it ;) @ McSpuds - This may apply to you too but I don't have steam so......

Sentry WP. My new fav WP type

I believe it's because the file extension is now associated with notepad (So if you double clicked on it would open with notepad & not pop the box saying 'unrecognised extension, please choose program' or whatever it says). Nothing to worry about! (AFAIK)

    Aimimg deadzone (in options)

I have a Logitech MX620 wireless & I've never had any wireless problems with games. As far as your aim is concerned if you've been sprinting/running your aim will be off because your soldier needs to recover (take a knee). Or you could have been injured which obviously screws your aim. Also are you holding right mouse to hold your breath/zoom/focus. (Sorry, if I'm stating the obvious but you never know...)
  20. Simple how to I found on youtube: Get it here: http://www.teamspeak.com/?page=downloads Once installed & set-up: Find a server you want to play on & look for the ts3 ip on this site http://www.tsviewer.com/ OR join the server & look in the map notes (sometimes here) OR ask admin for their ts3 ip. Make a note of it, then alt-tab start ts3, click on connect then enter the ip, port & password if required. Once connected switch to the correct room (e.g. arma2- opfor/blufor) & then switch back to the game. +1 on the looking to join clan/squad thing. This game NEEDS that! I've just started playing & omg it's annoying when everyone is 'lonewolfing'.
