  2. You don't have to come in every single thread to reply the same thing to every single positive post about this game. ArmA 2 was a far larger catastrophe of a launch developed on an engine that was far worse than A3's engine with far worse QA. The same with Operation Arrowhead. Did BIS just disappear because those launches were complete failures with the netcode being as terribly bad as it was before 1.60 patch? They did not. This launch has far surpassed any expectations anyone can hold after the launch of the previous titles. What you think of ArmA 2 is of a decade of work on an existing platform. If BIS does not lose the interest in ArmA 3 because of all this negativity caused by certain members, A3 will be an another masterpiece over time. Right now A3 is lacking in units and other content, but the main gameplay is infinitely superior to A2. That is something you can not do in A2, but you can always create more content to A3.

    Fatigue effects

Unconstructive whining, you will never get anything done with these posts. My opinion is that the devs should add momentum to sprint, but make it faster and pull the field of view like five degrees wider when you enter sprinting stage. That gives a great sense of speed.

Mods and Servers and Keys, Oh My...

They keys make sure that you have not modified the addon. It's a measure against cheaters.

    The textures look absolutely terrible.

    ARMA 3 Main Battletanks

Coilgun, not a railgun. It's way different.

    Sounds too quiet

The game simulates speed of sound, although I believe the snap effect is just an overlay.

    Sounds too quiet

When a supersonic object flies faster than the speed of sound, it "breaks" the "sound barrier" resulting in a vibration that is equal to an explosion. The loud snap is a direct result of a bullet going at supersonic speed.

    Discussion on "Axed" Features

What it should do, is raise your health up to 80 but there should be severe shaking when you aim and visible limping (screen shake downwards). Only a medic can remove them and only one debuff at a time. At 20 health you should be incapacitated and unable to rotate your body. Also when you get hit, your movement speed should be much slower for five seconds. This is called tagging. It plays a massive role in removing sprinting through open areas in CS:GO, I can't discern why it would not work here.
  11. When a hollow point explodes in you, you'll very likely be uncapacitated nearly instantly.

It must feel really nice to know that there are people here that will take any comment you make then twist and rape it until it doesn't resemble the meaning you had for it. Then after that they'll be like very smug and state their "very educated" opinion: "Oh but it's this guy's fault that the game is such a failure".
  13. At least missiles can bounce if hit in a bad angle. A TOW missile on a Metis Launcher.
  14. http://puu.sh/3EdN8.png (483 kB) When a bullet explodes in you like this, you do not just fucking twitch it away.
  15. Guys, you can't make major changes without breaking nearly everything. BIS does not have the manpower to do such subtle changes over time, and least of all, they have no time to make subtle changes. They need to get this product working and out of the shop in 3 months. THREE MONTHS.
  16. Nice. This will help the community to be less of an asshole at times.

    Discussion on "Axed" Features

So? ArmA 2 was released 2009, someone had an idea by then what to make of A3. The thinking phase on what to do with the next game start usually before the former game is even released. That's how you keep people busy. I hope someone from BIS can chime in and tell us the year they started to talk about A3 in its current form of a future combat game.

    Discussion on "Axed" Features

It is too much asked, tell me how many modders were there in A2? Hundreds, maybe a thousand. At least more than 70. How much time did they have? Over four years? ArmA 3 has been in development at most for four years with a -really badly- executed scheduling. Only during late 2012 BIS actually seemed to realize what they actually want of the game. ArmA 3 dev count is somewhere around 70. They've done a lot under the hood. Look at the first impressions thread so you see all the things that have improved since A2 as you're most likely already very used to them by now.

    Discussion on "Axed" Features

I wouldn't call weapon resting/ bipod handling a "feature", but a fix to prone recoil. It's nothing else than an animation and a tweak to the recoil modifier. The reworked netcode and interpolation opened up actual Player Versus Player environment. If that isn't a gameplay feature, I don't know what you guys want. I hope BIS knows that almost everyone who has played this series for more than a year appreciates the fact that they will come up with something super nice every once in a while.

This is what's the problem with this community. The mind-set is that "Boo, BIS can not provide!!!" The reworked net-code with interpolation between movement? Seriously, am I the only one who played before 1.54 beta patches and 1.60 main patch? FXAA, SMAA? Dwarden and co. are the reason the game got suddenly so much better looking for almost zero performance drop. A much better video settings menu? A recoil rework? ArmA 2 was unplayable for all other purposes than roleplaying a soldier with correct terminology since everything warped like hell all the time.

    The Grenade Thread

You take the pin out, activate the compound by pressing the long handle and throw as soon as you have done that. Cooking grenades is extremely discouraged, for the timer on the grenades vary. Grenades are not used within normal buildings for the shrapnel will burst through the walls with ease.

    AMD GPU 6900 Series issues?

"hurf" Stop trolling. Recording video is very much dependant upon HDD speed. Also 3gb of ram with i7 930? "Serious gaming PC" ...What? A "gaming PC" is a your packet PC with dedicated GPU. "Serious GAMING PC" is your Dell PC with an upgraded CPU + GPU. ---------- Post added at 01:19 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:16 PM ---------- So the problem is not in memory. The problem persists in other games with big draw distances and lots of objects? Also try changing the mouse smoothing feature in controls.
  24. it is quite possible upgrading to a 64b Vista or Win7 would cure the problem completely.

    AMD GPU 6900 Series issues?

You're fucking retarded or a troll. MOBO matters jackshit after 100€ priceline in gaming performance. "Doubling the performance with a mobo that costs 200€ more" How about a NO. ---------- Post added at 09:47 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:46 PM ---------- Have you tried OC'ing the memory? It seems like a driver problem with the 6970.
