The V-sync is vertical synchronization which means that when your GPU and CPU aren't in synchronization, you'll have screen tearing. This happens when your PC can run the game in more FPS than your screen can show as refresh rate or Hz which leads to screen tearing as the GPU and CPU are trying to show a different picture on your screen. V-sync limits your FPS to your screen refresh rate so you won't get screen tearing and your PC will run more silent and calmer as it won't be using the maximum potential processing power. However, if you do not get ALL THE TIME in any situation possible, do not use V-Sync if you get mouse lag and/or other delays. TL;DR for lazy people, V-sync prevents screen tearing.

Arma 2 on Lan for 4 to 7 Players
Primarch replied to TundraToad's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - Servers & Administration
Steam is very fine to run with mods, just needs a mod launcher. It is almost always just user-end mistakes where on they blame steam. -
Read the pinned thread for PC upgrades. But anyway get a GTX 460 if you can, the 6800 series is not worth the money before AMD fixes them drivers.

Stop spamming your useless thread all over the forums, Arthur. Can a mod lock and/or delete this thread? -
FPS drop / Stutter SOLVED - PSU related
Primarch replied to andrei's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
First of all, your CPU is not too powerful, nor is your SLI cards and BFBC and MoH and CoD are corridor-fucking-shooters, get a better computer. You people annoy me who think they're supposed to run a massive battlefield like some 25m^2 CoD map! argh. I think I was trolled anyway. -
Red brick building gets destroyed by MG
Primarch replied to metalcraze's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
So was this worth of a thread? Everyone knows that everything in arma has hitpoints and so on you can destroy pretty much anything with any weapon and enough of bullets. -
Any Domination server's running Mando Missile and ACE?
Primarch replied to AussieSausage's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - MULTIPLAYER
Task Force Korpi runs six updater updated ACE and MMA. OA version most of the time, sometimes CO though. -
Oh yeah I want a fatty with a thin face, amirite? I want a working 3D editor first, thank you.

Buy an MX518. It has 3 sensitivity settings which you can switch with a single click under the scroll. You can change the DPI sensitivity from the control panel like 400DPI for lowest setting, 800DPI for the middle sensitivity and 1600DPI for the largest sensitivity. It's really useful and doesn't cost much either.

I get the buzzing with my Sennheiser 595HD's, I've a AMD Radeon 4870HD with 10.11 drivers. -
I wish that you will fund the whole project to code a new engine, and I also think you haven't read the thread at all, yes? You better start giving out money to BIS for them to hire people who has got experience with DX 11.

Why was this not Included in a BIS Config?

Will my PC Run this? What CPU/GPU to get? What settings? System Specifications.
Primarch replied to Placebo's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
It won't run. You need atleast quad core CPU such as a i5 750 or a P2 955 for Arma to run at all on multiplayer without Arma looking like BF2. You need a better GPU too, about a 460GTX 1GB should do the job. ---------- Post added at 10:05 AM ---------- Previous post was at 10:02 AM ---------- Get the i5 760 for gaming, if you wish to do something CPU intensive, get the i7 930 and 6 gigs of ram. Thubans are not good for gaming, they're cheap 6 core CPUs but they're not that powerful for gaming because not a single game other than BFBC 2 has been made to support well up to 6-8 cores. -
The destructible glass would create probably de-sync between clients in PVP.

Ability to transition weapons on the move
Primarch replied to Chris2525's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - SUGGESTIONS
The animation needs to be finished for an another animation to start. If they fix this, they could make the movement much smoother, such as transition from a different pace. -
ARMA 2 OA: Post Process Settings Decoded

Eye sight is the center of the screen, where your eyes are concentrating at. Bloom is the bright parts of items when they're reflecting light such as sun. -
LOD? problem: objects disappear when I look away
Primarch replied to maturin's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
Have you attempted to defrag your HDD or OC your hardware? That seems like they're trying to optimize the performance with not rendering props that are out of FOV. As in your case the optimization doesn't work and as such it is way too slow to load the props and you see them appearing. You've got slow loading times too? Any optimization mods? -
Yeah, no. It is not like BIS has several millions of reserved resources for that kind of engine coding. They need to code the engine pretty much again for the implemention of new technologies such as tesselation and better lighting and particle system. The Direct X is just an API for easier programming.

Anything over i7 930 is an overkill for gaming... It is like using a nuclear warhead to kill 5 people. Total waste of money and generating collateral damage such as heat.

Can you no longer lock onto targets as pilots?
Primarch replied to AussieSausage's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
It is not a bug, you need a gunner for your two seater vehicle for locking on to targets. -

You are not going to run it decently well on a fucking laptop. Stop dreaming and have a break if you're on a holiday. -

Go for 750w PSU and dual 6870 or wait for 6970 series, meanwhile that just buy an intel i7 930 or an AMD P2 955, or just a hexa core. ...If you're gonna do something else, don't do it because you're an idiot for wanting to play arma with shit hardware. It is worth it, anything else is retard-tier for Call of Duties. -

I give your troll attempt 3 out of 10, subtle but still talking about an inferior, more buggy mod.. You are one hell of a troll... Whining about campaign bugs, unable to install ACE mod and you typo like a kid. You are also whining about 8£ which made me laugh. Go somewhere else please, troll. You do not deserve to play this game.
