  5. First off, I'll say that I have tried searching for this and I have also gone through about 5-10 pages of the editing forum but I haven't found a solution yet. If there already is a solution to this that you know of, please send me in the right direction and sorry for bothering you ;) In a mission I would like to have a mobile mortar team (human players, don't worry) to support the frontline troops. Arrowhead offers the ability to actually pack up and move a mortar, but this does create a problem for me: I have no idea how to make it so that you can get the targeting system appear for the gunner. In the editor preview I have not yet been able to set it up so the gunner is able to target by anything than pure luck and intuition. So far, I've tried: -doing it all clean, no modules (set up mortar by picking up mortar back and assembling on tripod, no targeting system appears) -artillery module synchronised to the tripod and the mortar bag (hey, I'm desperate!) -artillery module synchronised to tripod, mortar bag and player So, it's probably something real simple that I'm missing, but in my defence I'm a bit stupid sometimes, I mean inexperienced. :p Thanks in advance for any help. :)

    Mobile Mortar Team, How?

So there's no way to do that?

    Mobile Mortar Team, How?

Thanks :) Yet another question: is it possible to zoom in on the targeting screen? Right now all I get is a two-digit grid which doesn't make for very accurate fire missions. Also, as the numbers on the aiming reticule are pretty small (the ones giving the time before impact in seconds) it's kind of hard to see when the shells will arrive. Is there any way to zoom in on this or make it bigger (I already changed my interface size from very small to small with no real noticeable difference, and still not three-digit grid), or is there no option but to start looking for scripts/addons to provide an alternate way of manually aiming artillery? Actually, on that subject, would this certainly have to be an addon or is a script around for this?

    Mobile Mortar Team, How?

Hey I was wondering, does this also work if you want to add ILLUM and WP shells to a mortar unit's inventory? How exactly would I do that? Add three different reloadmortar.sqf-esque files, or can I do it with one script? Because now that I see this, I also see the possibilities of having several different kinds of mortar rounds, should make things more interesting! :) Thanks in advance!
  9. OK, I asked the mods to delete my thread asking about this problem after someone pointed out to me that there's actually a thread about the script! ;) OK, so here's my problem: I'm trying out the R3F Revive script but I'm getting some STRANGE issues. I uploaded it to the server to test it with a friend and it worked perfectly the first time. We shot eachother and revived, and it all worked flawlessly. Then we disconnected and tried to enter the other soldiers' spots to see if the arty thing works there too, but suddenly we spawned as birds (having fully quit the mission). It keeps telling us "briefing.sqf not found" which is nonsense because it's in the mission folder. I figured it might have something to do with the two different buttons you get when picking a mission ("Continue" and "Play again") but the play again button won't do anything so Continue is our only option. When I try to load it either puts me back in the unit selection screen (after a few seconds of waiting for host) or spawns me as a bird and trust me, that stuff gets old fast. :P So far I've restarted the server, re-exported the mission and tried to restart the mission serverside, but no luck. Anyone got any idea why it suddenly won't work anymore? (it worked perfectly the first time but now it won't work whatever we do) The same person who pointed out to me that the post should go somewhere else, also said However, I have restarted not only the mission, but also the entire server. I have also removed the mission from the server and re-uploaded it, but we still seem to get stuck in the 'bird'. I'm pretty sure it has something to do with that "briefing.sqf not found" but since the briefing.sqf is in the mission folder I don't know what it's going on about.
  10. Oh, thanks for that rule, I'll just delete it from the other thread, it just doesn't belong there anyway. :) Actually, a moderator can just delete this thread and if your suggestion doesn't work I'll ask in the official R3F thread. :) I'll report my post then. Thanks!
  11. Quoted from my other thread as a seperate thread would garner more interest I think: So, anyone familiar with the R3F revive script? I could post up my init.sqf and description.ext files if that's necessary. :)

    Mobile Mortar Team, How?

Oh thanks! So as long as there's an arty module present ni the map, no synchronisation is required! Awesome! Also thanks for the reload thing, great stuff! I'll start a seperate thread ont he revive issue I'm having.

    Mobile Mortar Team, How?

I'll be looking forward to that! So far I have gotten it to work in the editor preview at least whichis a blessing. ;)

    Mobile Mortar Team, How?

And then you can still disassemble it? Or in other words, can you by default disassemble all static weapons in OA? because the critical part of the mission is that the mortar team must be mobile. :) Thanks already, I'll try it asap. :) ---------- Post added at 04:01 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:31 PM ---------- I just saw that you can! I never knew that! OK, one more question: is it possible to re-arm the mortar? I see it only comes with 8 shells and I was wondering if it's possible to either increase this amount or pick up more ammunition. :) Thanks in advance!

You just made my life a less happy place to be at. :( I'll try one of those other things instead and keep AE for making it fancy... Until that time, it'll all be simply Windows Live Movie Maker. Woe on me. ;)

Yet more footage. Took me all night to upload (I have a rather... disappointing internet connection) but finally it's all there. This is one of our earlier missions but I only recently had time to go through the footage. This mission was one of the first times we actually used a command element + fireteams and support in seperate groups setup and enforced more or less proper comms but all in all it goes smooth enough. Only one fatal casualty. Part 1, "Sultansafe" 2a6EwJMN7t4 Part 2, "The Valley" Squro6d8WOo Part 3, Huzrutimam Approach" C3mGEO7sdFU Part 4, "Entering Huzrutimam" E_I18E_B8xM Part 5, "Clearing Huzrutimam" CBkmQ8xm53c The editing is nothing fancy, I only have Live Movie Maker to work with. Soon, though, I hope to get AfterEffects so I can actually do some more quality stuff. :) A better internet connection would make life even easier.

    Battleye kick

Me and my mates are having the same problem on our server. Would have been nice if Battleye came with an update feature, or would do so automatically. Anyway, what would be a solution to this problem? I'm running as admin now and that seems to work, but it also means I cannot play it through Steam which sucks, as I have to alt-tab to communicate.

    BattlEye - Asshat

It's a program like PUnkbuster; it is supposed to detect aimbots and other hacks and kick/ban players that use them.

    =NF= The Naked Fanatics

Update 23/7/2010 Our server is semi-permanently private now. If you would like to play on there ask any of us for the password on Steam. You can add me on Steam via http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561197999204282 It was passworded because it was getting distracting to re-brief the random new people coming in during missions, sometimes leading to unnecessary delay and/or deaths. (which of course is something to be avoided! :p ) The amount of missions is increasing gradually. Some custom BETA missions have been uploaded, as well as live fire training missions for armoured support and heli insertions. Expect more missions, both made by ourselves and missions taken from Armaholic. --- And yet more videos have found their way online!
