The only sluggishness I experience is when the weapon view is zoomed. Maybe the sluggishness some people experience has something to due with mouse polling.

1.09 patch cut my performance in half
mcarma replied to mcarma's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
I will try the -exThreads command line switches today. Sorry about responding so late. Tried the -exTreads command line parameter and it seems to have no affect. -
Arma games need to be polished and then do more advertising and then get some great reviews. This game has a huge replay value ... like no other game to date.

Where to buy ARMA II: Reinforcements - summary thread
mcarma replied to .kju's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
US English version? -
+2 on ZeosPantera's idea. I like it and wish it to be so. Similar in the way FSX popups work be an exceptional feature. I don't consider this possible feature to be unfair game wise. After all we all don't use the same computer hardware.

Arma II & OA work fine on my system with Windows 7 Prof x64.

Is there a way to move the ingame popups to another monitor?
mcarma posted a topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
Like moving the map, compass and gps to another monitor and still be able to play in full screen. -
Kicked because of 'BattlEye: Corrupted Memory #0'. Get into a server and after getting senerio boom comes this message. I have the newest BattlEye dll installed. Found this info below about memory, but system runs everything else with no problems. Corrupted Memory #X: BattlEye detects that your game's memory is not what it is supposed to be. Scan your system for viruses/trojans/spyware and check your RAM for possible defects (using tools like Memtest86). If that doesn't help, the game's installation on your harddisk is possibly corrupted - therefore, try to reinstall the game.

I reinstalled Windows with just the necessary drivers and a few utility programs, and I now can get into the MP servers. If BattlEye had meaningful messages trouble shooting problems would be a lot easier. I deleted at least 150 GB of stuff. Now the issue is what will happen when I install all development software and projects.

Sorry, was really p/o'd yesterday.

1.09 patch cut my performance in half

just '-nosplash' on the command line. Yes 'HT' is enabled. LOLOL, Just a while ago I tried to play MP and BattlEye shows cheat message. I am most likely the oldest Arma II player here in the forums and I have no reason to cheat or hack. I am a retired programmer. Why try, this year has not started out well for me. Buggers! Maybe I should change my handle to McDead. -
nope, nope, no hacks, cheats, viruses, keyloggers, trojans, spyware, etc etc etc I ran an Avira full scan, MalwareBytes, HiJackThis and checked out ProcessExplorer and nothing weird shows up. Only thing to note is this is also a development computer which has Visual Studio 2008 installed and mucho software. I only run VAC, MSI AfterBurner when playing. And there are currently no other games installed, and no Steam either. If BattlEye concludes that I am cheating somehow then the programmers are idiots. This piss's me off!

I suppose we are forced to reinstall the games and not use the 1.09 patch. Reinstalled everything and still same results. -

I have somewhat new to Arma II OA. I don't understand exactly what you want me to do. I have run the benchmarks and I get about half the frame rate. Nothing has changed except the patch. ---------- Post added at 08:36 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:33 PM ---------- W7 Prof x64 | Rampage II Extreme | i7 965 @ 3.7 | 6GB Corsair 1866 CL7| EVGA GTX480 | Corsair HX1000w | 2 ssd's, 4 seagates | Lian-Li A77 | SupremeFX X-Fi | LG 27" -

Arma II OA in game browser could use some more filter options ...
mcarma posted a topic in ARMA 2 & OA - MULTIPLAYER
1. a filter for choosing a country 2. automatically displaying servers that match the installed game version also why is the game server browser so slow to fill up and display the pings? -
First off BattleEye leaves a lot to be desired. No way to choose a country for example. List is displayed with some servers with green systems, but mostly red 'x' symbols showing blank lines. No Arma II OA version number is shown either. Cannot join any server I find. Always get the 'connection failed' message. Any ideas?? Is there another game finder software to use?
-
1. are there many players in MP? 2. is it true that it is hard to find servers because of so many mods? 3. is it worth the trouble to play MP? 4. are there many team players or is everyone a loner? 5. are there hackers in the game? Looks like a great game.
-
Servers show up but can't connect. Yes I am using that client.dll file. From what I understand there are no required ports to open, to play the game, on the router.
-
I hope so, it's a great game and I would like to see more maps and more missions, etc.
-
Yes I have! Don't the developers come here to help peeps?
-
I agree! It should get some kind of award.

Steam is a great idea to get teenie boppers to spend their money. Otherwise it's a pain in the a$$.
