    Recoil Overhaul Feedback

    I'm quite happy overall with the new recoil but the way the two anti-materiel rifles and the heavy pistols kick back (or how the character handles it) look very unnatural to me.

Very basic idea on visual feedback (I guess BIS already has something sleeker): http://i.imgur.com/URYVec6.jpg (248 kB) The little dot would appear at wherever the stablization comes from (in this case, under the rifle). If the crosshair is disabled, it could be displayed on the stance indicator (but that might already be cluttered enough so not sure).

  5. These threads usually end up bashing it but IMO it was a great decision. Why? Because modders will eventually make current era equipment (since there is community demand for it, references can be found easily, and modders might even have existing models already). If BIS chosen to go along with the usual current era theme we'd have another HMMWV, more AK variants etc. along with the mod content which is also mostly modern era. We'd miss out on all these interesting concepts which we have. Sure there are some oddities but it still feels realistic to me. Also having a unique theme is kinda necessary since it helps the game stand out from other FPS games at first glance. Remaking ArmA2 on a new engine is not really exciting for non-hardcore fans.

  7. I'm really happy about the proper medical pod on the Taru, looks great! As for bugs: Taru (and Blackfoot) pedals are reversed. And Taru Cargo and Ammo have wrong names (Cargo has all the ammo).

    The new Truck and Offroad models broke the unarmed animations, and switching seats between the Offroads cabin and the bed is back.

    To get back to the original topic: wouldn't be possible to have the whole interface integrated? That is, you'd press the loadout button in the editor and instead of loading the VR map the game would put the character somewhere high above (similar to the anim viewer) and after editing you'd get back to the scenario editor.

    What I really miss is an option to lay down on the back of the offroad (kinda like the turn in-turn out option). I know the side panels don't offer much protection but it would be very useful to hide and prepare ambushes.
  13. The ports from TKOH (the Littlebirds and the Merlin) do have a cyclic rotor animation but an update broke it and now its mirrored. Perhaps BIS is not even aware they left that animation in, let alone its status.
  14. After trying it out I have to say that your vegetation placement is amazing, and it feels very authentic. What bothers me most is the SAT texture (I know its still WIP): its very dark/desaturated compared to the vegetation. And some ArmA3 trees feel a bit out of place. But othwerwise this has a lot of potential.
  15. This is metallic effect is nice and all, but should be disabled on FIA vehicles, since those were repainted in a rather crude manner.

  19. Hellcat [Green]: no animations at all Hellcat [Camo]: copilot has pedal and collective animations but his limbs wont move with them Mohawk: cyclic left/right is still reversed Blackfoot: gunner doesn't have pedal anims and they are reversed with the pilot On the others they work fine :cool:

    I know its minor but since the heli DLC is inbound this should be fixed: Clock in Ka-60 is mirrored Another small but nice feature would be to enable the same pedal animations in helicopters as in karts
