    Will the AI be able to use this, or will this be a player-only feature? Not every MP match has all-player teams (and singleplayer mission designers could use it, too). I love how it currently looks, especially with the sway and spinning.

    Is there any way I can force the artillery (Russian SPGs, in particular) to use a particular ammo type on the "fire mission" waypoint? Also, just to let you know, Kamaz Typhoon isn't retextured from the CSAT camo anymore. I didn't think much of it (WIP and all), but then I noticed another mod which reskinned the Kamaz and is no longer working as well. BIS changed some models in 1.60 to use hidden textures, which seems to have broken the old reskins.

    If the female voice doesn't work, then it's possible that grunts and screams use a different system that might be harder to mod.

    Actually, Xi'an uses its main engines in addition to lift fans. An odd arrangement (I'm not sure if that'd work well), but definitely possible. It probably has additional nozzles for control in VTOL mode. That should suffice for VTOL operation with an infantry squad loaded. You're right about weight issues with vehicles on board, though. VTOLs are usually underpowered in vertical flight, so they should not be able to carry things like APCs and still be able to operate vertically. unarmed MRAPs, maybe (Blackfish is very big for a VTOL, so is the Xi'an), but just barely.
  5. Does the CUP terrains pack include a placeable LHD? I looked for it in Eden and couldn't find it.

    Yeah, the big advantage of fire support aircraft is that they can lay fire accurately. Currently it's very hard to do, if you aim using the crosshair, you have a good chance to end up hitting the friendlies, since the lead is usually just around the range of a typical rifle firefight...
  7. That looks great. Looking forward to it. Will be great for flying the Blackfoot from it, like in the old Commanche 4 game. :)

    That actually looks pretty good. Also, it seems that it'd be much easier to use sights with this modified version of the helmet. With a CSAT-style stealth balaclava and googles, it could look much better. It'd also give the Vipers some diversity, which would humanize them a bit. The full helmet could be the province of squad leaders and machinegunners, like with CTRG.
  9. It'd probably be good to make a simple custom mission that would show this behavior. I don't think it's specific to the campaign, if someone could isolate it, it'd probably be easier to fix. Unfortunately, I don't really have either the editing experience nor the time to do that.

    RHS (the US part, I think) has a female voice. I know that it's a rather large mod to download for a single feature, but that might be something to try.

    "Command fire" only seems to toggle the gun. Since the "switch weapons" button operates the rockets, I can't force the gunner to select missiles. I did try manual fire, but I've had issues with the missiles not guiding. They're SACLOS (no need for locking), so it should be enough to get the AI gunner to look at the target, right?

    Well, the other solution is just preventing things that clip from being worn together. That would be pretty realistic, actually, as long as the restrictions are reasonable. Something like Viper harness, for example, is pretty much a vest/backpack hybrid, so it'd be hard to wear with any sort of armored vest (of course, you could do some finagling, lay belts over each other and such, but it'd probably be neither comfortable nor secure).

    How can I get AI gunner to use ATGMs in RHS helos? The AI seems to only use the gun and not the missiles, even against armor.

    It does look nice, though I'd lose the red eyes. :) Still looks somewhat more functional than the current Viper helmet. Something based on Bowman would still be preferable, though. That one could be a nice CSAT counterpart.
  15. I can confirm that I also don't have "Vehicle Get In" and "Vehicle Get Out" waypoints. Moreover, I found that the AI doesn't react when I try to order (in-game) it to load up onto the Blackfish.
  16. I noticed this bug, too. Yeah, "don't play on devbranch" and all that, but the bottom line is, there is something wrong with the waypoints. This needs to be looked into before it ends up in the main branch. IMO, this is a good reason to play on devbranch, actually. So that the main branch people don't get hit with things like that. :)

    Changing from Iran to some sort of coalition actually made a lot of sense. Having Iran use all those advanced weapons would mean giving them waaaay too much credit, considering their actual record (remember that cardboard stealth fighter?). :) At least now it seems that between Russians and Chinese they could actually have that sort of gear (though if Russian practice of sending their allies "monkey models" of their equipment holds in 2035, then the real stuff would probably walk over whatever NATO can field...). It seems to me that CSAT would be something not unlike the old Warsaw Pact, except larger and including China (indeed, if it wasn't for all the Russian equipment, it would make a sensible-looking Chinese counterpart to NATO and CSTO). Chinese will be CSAT all the same, but it'll still be Chinese forces. Much like in The East Wind they were still Iranians, but under a different banner. That's what I'm worried about. The idea of CSAT isn't that far fetched (looks like an expansion of CSTO), but they still have a nationality in the end. In general, BI could indeed use some more subtlety, especially if it wants a symmetrical conflict. ArmA2 was fine, you mostly fought terrorists and criminals. Same with OA. Terrorists are fair game as far as any non-terrorist is concerned. :) However, if you want a symmetrical conflict, you need a proper, legitimate nation as an antagonist. That does tend to tick the nation in question off, especially if not done well. Well, the Chinese do get ticked off about the strangest things at times, but since they didn't mind OFP: Red River, I figure that they're fine with being an antagonist as long as they're portrayed as competent and professional (say what you will about the new OFP, but they did manage to get that right). I hope that BI manages the same, though given the new gear looks as if it was designed to look evil, I do have some concerns. I don't like propaganda, either, but that goes both ways.

    I don't think it'd be worth the effort, though. In most cases, a hit to the head kill you anyway, Viper helmet or not. It might stop pistol rounds, but hardly anyone uses those in ArmA. IRL, a direct head shot will always knock you out, even if you do end up surviving. In general, I agree with all the criticism of the Viper helmet. :) I've already criticized it in another thread. Not only is it pretty nonfunctional, the "alien head" design, especially with those red eyes and skintight suit, makes them look absurd (the suit would have been nice on its own, though, or with a better helmet). Funnily enough, these guys are also the ones with the Skyranger. :) Make of that what you will. Also, it just came to my mind that Chinese might not take kindly to the expansion. BI already managed to piss off Iran, but it's a smaller market. I don't know how CSAT Pacific will be portrayed in the story (OFP:Red River got a pass despite having them as villains), but I can see the designs themselves ticking off PRC's censors.

    Looks awesome. :) The "shirt" uniforms still don't work, though. Also, do you think you could include the female voice from RHS into FEMAL3? It'd be nice to have without the need for RHS. BTW, do you realize just how friggin' badass does the mask look when worn with the Stealth Helmet from Apex? It goes over the facepiece and looks soo much better than either it alone or the Viper helmet. You should really consider a making full helmet including the Bowman mask. ;) Stealth Helmet works, but it only comes in the goofy CTRG camo and it's DLC content. I'd rather have something in your style. :) Also, consider adding TI to the mask. Seeing as a very similar NVGs do have it in Apex, there's little reason not to.

    Doesn't work, at least not when trying to bind it to a joystick. Autohover and vectoring have been separated in the last builds. I suppose they want to add autohover to VTOLs at some point, otherwise I don't see the point. By this point, I certainly wouldn't mind magnetic weapons being a thing. Maybe base the tank on the Russian Armata system (it's modular enough, could probably take at least a coilgun). TBH, besides the camo, CSAT gear generally looks more Russian than Chinese (their VTOL is almost certainly a Chinese knockoff of a Russian knockoff of a canned American VTOL originally meant for a certain anti-alien agency that got its funding cut for ignoring one UFO too many... :) ).

    What I'd love would be a medical system similar to what America's Army 3 had (if BIS wants a post-Apex DLC idea, well, here it is). That said, this is a step in the right direction. Good to know somebody's looking at this. I'm looking forward to seeing it work on AI. And yes, dragging and carrying like in A2 would be a nice addition. Ideally we'd be able to move dead bodies, as well.

    Do they work correctly, though? I know that RHS still didn't fix their BMPs, at least. I'd very much like to see proper amphibious IFVs.

    For some reason, I can't select female faces in the Eden editor. On female soldiers, the "face" option only has "enabled" and "disabled" entries. On the rest, it only has male faces. Using RHS (full suite) and the latest IdentiZee. I'm on devbranch (I'll test it on main if you really want, but swapping them usually necessitates multi-GB downloads, so I'd prefer to stay on dev).
