  1. Looking good--nice bake!
  2. Yeah, I'm not quite happy with it yet--I wanted to blow up the coarse texture the tube has in real life up to where it would be viewable ingame, and then make it look like it has a thick layer of paint on it.... unfortunately, it kinda looks like a golfball atm. Will need to tweak it.
  3. Weapons blowout! SVDM, SVDM (Camo), and SVDS model by gurdy, textures by Sabre. RShG-2 model and texture by gurdy.
  4. A heads up: AlexVestin has been rather busy with real life lately, so hopefully he will get a chance to correct me and comment further in the future... the RHS United States Armed Forces addon will be stand alone pack from the Russians, but as of right now it won't be featuring a lot of AV's work as you guys see it here. We've decided to totally remake the US army infantry from the ground up, but a lot of AV's weapon config work and some of his original ports will still be present. That being said, a lot of the actual "stuff" that was in indUS will still be present, just with updated models (along with additional goodies, of course.) I hope that clears things up--I hate that the final version of indUS didn't make it out, but again I hope that AV will be able to talk more about it soon.
  5. While it's not visible in the picture, I can assure you that it is there. :p
  6. Honestly, we won't know until the alpha goes out the door--although I'd like to think we plan pretty well, you never know what might happen. We'd prefer to not to post a list until we know for certain you'll be receiving everything we put on it. :)
  7. Already? :( We can't keep up with this stuff! Atm we are using a mix of custom sounds and some BIS sounds--ideally, we would only have custom sounds, but we lack a dedicated sound engineer. :P
  8. We haven't really looked into it, so I can't comment for sure--someone will get back to you on that. M9 and PYa will be present, but I can't rule the others out. :p
  9. This is the only one for now, but that will probably change after the release of the AFRF alpha. :)
  10. There is definiately going to be a Ka-60 eventually--however, it's probably not going to be present in the first release. e: About the Yak--if we ever make one, we'd probably make our own (even if it wasn't fictionalized, an A3 retex wouldn't allow us to use decals, etc.) In addition, while there are a lot of Yak-130 pics out there, afaik there is very little about the Yak-131. Cool plane, but it might have to wait a while. :p
  11. Those are looking pretty rad--really interested to see what you come up with. :)
  12. Awesome work, congrats on the release! :D
  13. D-double post! Here's a quick look at our brand new M320 GLM, model by Gurdy and textures by Sabre!
  14. Yep, USF development is chugging along just fine. We might have a few goodies to show soon, but getting the AFRF public alpha ready to go has been our top priority. :)
  15. An Abrams gunner doesn't have a hatch. :p

    astast: WIP Thread

    Looking great, Astast! :)
  17. Heck, I'd say it'd take closer to a couple of years to get two factions nearing completion! I don't want to discourage you, but what you propose is nearly impossible--you couldn't even steal work and kitbash BIS models to get a finished product here. I also think it's strange that you dichotomize the factions like you do.. I know it's just a game, but I think it's in poor taste to relegate unnamed countries to "Australia, etc.", and non-NATO members to "enemies of US and allied countries". It may just be me, but I feel that if you can't even be bothered to name the subjects of your addon and treat the topics with individual respect, you probably don't have the capability to administer and complete a project of this scale. This post may be skirting on the edges of appropriateness, but I really, really encourage you to just focus on one thing that you have a passion for. A single thing. Once you understand the amount of blood, sweat, and tears needed to create even the most simple of addons, I think you'll want to reevaluate your list. :p
  18. While I can't speak for the accuracy, the model sure looks nice! :)
  19. Not at the moment. We are just focusing on mainline weapons for the time being.

    East Static Weapons Pack

Awesome work porting this stuff over! Looking forward to what you do next. :)
  22. On the topic of troops: we are definitely still working to get to a point where we are comfortable with the accuracy and quality of our US troops. At this moment we are still using a lot of inherited content from a huge span of sources, so our current goal with the troops is to go back, piece-by-piece, and improve and replace what's already there to further unify our art. Over the long term (and without going into too much detail), I think it's safe to say the A3 cyre gear won't be present (if it is, it will probably end up being in an altered state to accommodate our needs a little better). I don't even think you have to worry about knee pads being present. Again, we'll be pretty forthcoming with this progress in the future. :p On the topic of MRAPs: without going into too much detail, some MRAPs will be present. However, it is good time to point out that vehicles that have more conventional and gameplay-significant roles to play in a fictional US vs. Russia conflict will have more priority within the mod. Even then, we still want to have enough appropriate content to accommodate both OIF and OEF scenarios. At any rate, we'll talk more about this in future updates.
  23. Multicam is definitely on the table. Yep, pretty much. :)
  24. Yes and no--they are a mix of Alex's unreleased work and some new gear. We'll be showing more of this as we go along as we refine and replace older work.
  25. Hello everyone! Today we would like to formally announce our latest project at Red Hammer Studios: United States Armed Forces. Spurred on by a need of a comparable opposing force for our Russian faction and a fondness for the Operation Flashpoint-style East vs. West scenario, we have been working for months on a modern US faction that matches the same quality standards set by our Russian forces. Keep an eye out here at BIS, or at our Facebook page for further updates that are right around the corner. Click to enlarge:
