What ArmA II really needs is NO DELAY on death animations, it takes around 0.5 seconds after they get shot to actually fall down. Also it's pathetic how ArmA II doesn't have running death animations. Inside OpF:CWC, if you were running forward and got shot, your body would fall flat on his face. In ArmA II when you're running forward, somehow the bullet hits you SO POWERFUL that your body that was moving forward with the momentum of 1000 Newton/seconds gets pushed back by a bullet making you fall backwards.

[Solved] Arma 2 - patch 1.07 Error [Solved] Cause is missing registry entry
D00mbuggy replied to helldesign's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
I downloaded ArmA II: CO from Sprocket and since I saw the version number was 1.05, I wanted to patch it to 1.07. Problem is that patch 1.05 to 1.07 can't identify where my ArmA II location is even though I didn't install to any custom folder(C: Program Files(x86) / Bohemia Interactive / ArmA 2). -
What really kills ArmA II CQC is that you have to stop to lower your weapon. If you're walking you should be able to have the option to lower your weapon while walking.

I can't zero my position for some reason by pressing =. It's like it's unbinded, and I did update my facetrack.
-
It's standalone, you have to buy it.

Similar to a bike, it would be nice to see some people riding camels. The camel would be treated like a vehicle where you go next to it and select the "Get on camel".

Add a camel(Operation Arrowhead)

Don't special forces actually use donkeys or camels for some missions? -
Enemy AI knows your position when you blow up satchel charges
D00mbuggy replied to Undeceived's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
I thought it was just me when this happened. I remember when I made a scenario where I was Delta Forces and we covertly picked off some patrols and set up a satchel at a weapons cache. When we were all to the edge of the hill 300m away, I thought "aw yeah" and stared at the fireworks until literally all of the guys at the village filled us with holes. -
BIS, what have you done to lighting?
D00mbuggy replied to metalcraze's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
The lighting is not overdone, go outside at night time, sure you see something but I can tell you that it is MUCH harder to distinguish color. -
The games were made by people who left the Goldeneye team and made the studio Free Radical who are now Crytek UK.

Should I buy from STEAM or Sprocket??
D00mbuggy replied to Royal-Killer's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
Hmmm, two dollars more on Sprocket than on Steam. -
Should I buy from STEAM or Sprocket??
D00mbuggy replied to Royal-Killer's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
I want to get it off Sprocket but the prices only show in Euros, is there anyway to pay in US dollars? -

What I think could greatly improve the look of ArmA II is by having blobs of "shadows" like in Red Dead Redemption i1OsahA9T6g Don't say this can't be done on the PC since this is running on consoles.
-
In Quality vs Quantity ArmA II seems much more focused on the quantity. There's no point in having 20 civilian vehicles if all of them handled the same. There could have been 5 vehicles though, polished with gear shift and realistic traction and physics. Instead of having hundreds of varients of guns, we could have had fewer guns with more options(flashlight, laser, detachable scope). If ArmA II focused more on quality, it would have been much better.

Cloud shadows like in Red Dead Redemption
D00mbuggy replied to D00mbuggy's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - SUGGESTIONS
That doesn't exactly make a game look good by just having parallax mapping, anti-aliasing, and "hi-tech" features. RDR can also show a huge amount of grass and shrubbery that ArmA II chokes on. Red Dead Redemption also has an enormous draw distance like ArmA II as well. The shadows are much better too, but a video is worth a thousand words: ArmA II DAgdB17AiMg Red Dead Redemption Oo3njxOwJy4 Keep in mind how smooth Red Dead Redemption is even though its on consoles . Imagine it on the PC with better graphics. -
Cloud shadows like in Red Dead Redemption
D00mbuggy replied to D00mbuggy's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - SUGGESTIONS
Those are NOT soft shadows, the shadows from the horses and people on the edge of the shadow of the cloud are not blurred. From what I think, all it is is just a projected texture, or a spot in where there's no shadows. -
I've been playing ArmA II since when it came out. Even though it seems realistic, can people who've served in the military tell me if this game is very authentic? Does the leader really say "engage that" over and over again? Are you supposed to prone when gun fire comes in an open field?

Arma 2 Addon request thread

What about a crappy camera effect so it seems like your viewing the battle from a camera mounted on a helmet? I would like it to look like Kane and Lynch 2's camera effect GJlqVmNW0hM cqWwrrL8SN8 -

How do I just download the AI enhancements and not the effects themself? -
MOTHER OF GOD please don't buy Alienware, overpriced piece of shit. If you know how, building your PC from parts on Newegg is always a better idea. Heres a comparison of two equally powerful computers, one from parts on Newegg, and one prebuilt from Dell. http://blogs.techrepublic.com.com/helpdesk/?p=123 $4000 dollars for the name of a Dell? You decide. It's much better to construct a PC yourself. Here: http://secure.newegg.ca/WishList/PublicWishDetail.aspx?WishListNumber=10702005 A PC more well enough to run nearly all games at max settings. Anyways ArmA II isn't really much more graphic then most games out there. In fact it's pretty tame for a M rated game.
