  1. Hi After installing Operation Arrowhead it totally Fooked my arma 2 games up. Basically you run them (This is normally) and the screen goes black and it will refuse to allow you to see anything you can hear the menu etc but can't do anything as it is totally black. However I managed to get OA working by putting -window on the target (The full thread about this is here http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?t=104393) Anyway so i put it in windows mode and it allowed me to change the resolution to as it should be (so this is obviously arma 2 thinking i have a different resolution capability) Anyway during all of this hassle, my friend had OA working and the only difference was that he didn't have arma 2 so i un-installed that (Evidently that was not the problem) And on reinstalling the other day i found the same problem had started to occur with arma 2. However i tried the same method and you can't change the resolution when it is in windowed mode. :( I'm really stuck here guys any help would be much appreciated. Thank's Dan

  4. Well you could look for some scripts or just use normal waypoints ? And make sure they are in line with each other ?

I thought i had this sorted this problem but apparently not i've just reinstalled arma 2 (As i removed it in the problems with arrowhead as that was the only difference between me and my friend and his was working.) And i can't get it into the correct resolution just black screens. Please help :) Thank's Dan
  6. Hi basically i have installed OA today and now that i have installed this neither ARMA 2 nor OA work . They load and you can hear the music in the background but it will simply not work the screen just goes black and you are un-able to do anything ? I can get it to run in windowed mode which hints at some setting not being supported but the settings aren't any different from when i was running ARMA 2 it only stop working after installation ? No i didn't i'm not that stupid honestly :) problem solved btw anybody experiencing this problem do the following steps : Right click on your "Combined operations" / "Arma2"/ "Operation Arrowhead" icon and look for the target part of the menu on the shortcut tab. After you have found this go to the end of your .exe target so after the "" finish, Then type this -window There must be a space in between the " and the -. If you don't understand this step let me know i know i'm not to good at explaining things. After you have done this the game should run in windowed mode. If it is still not displaying at this stage i'm sorry i can't help although you can change the resolution of the shortcut also. When in your game go to your graphics settings and look for the interface resolution. Change it to the resolution of your screen (Or desired resolution) And then also change the 3d resolution to the resolution you want. VOILA complete and done, however before you do quit the game press "Alt+Tab" and go to the properties of the shortcut again. Now remove the -window and apply the changes. Now your game should be playable :) Thank's everyone hope this helped Dan
  9. I get a similar problem however i can hear the game running fine in the background but i cannot CHANGE THE RESOLUTION as i can't see anything it's black and it's really starting to annoy me.
  10. Hi I'm just making a simple scenario at the moment and i came about a problem :P How do you make the conditionals on waypoints apply ? So basically i want a vehicle to only move when KAZ1 is dead so i put this in the condition "!alive KAZ1" However nothing works as it goes ahead depsite KAZ1 being alive. I've also tried syncing the triggers and still no luck. Any help anybody ? Thanks Dan
  11. Hi I am wondering if there are any modellers out there kind enough to give me a helping hand in making my first map. The reason i am asking for modellers is that i want it to be an urban map. So i need people to make me some awesome buildings to place in my map (If there is anyone that is :P). My map is a bit like namalsk i suppose but not that abandoned or made for that kinda purpose. Please nobody go ahead faster than me and make one but i am planning on a full scale Grozny map. List of key buildings to make : The Presidential Palace which was partially destroyed during the battle : http://i27.tinypic.com/wbb79v.jpg Grozny Airport: http://english.ruvr.ru/data/2010/03/25/1237335652/3RIA-135066-Preview.jpg Those are the only ones at the moment but obviously there will be other landmarks in the map such as bridges and i really want the industrial estate and "Suburbs" (I put it in commas because it wasn't really a suburb it was just massive housing estates with apartments etc) to play a major part in the atmosphere and practical side of the map.   17. Hi everyone Is there anyway to exceed the 144 unit cap ? You might say "Why on earth would you want to do that ?" Well i've got a lot of statics in my mission and i don't want them to be in a group also i have a lot of game logics producing random unit's but they won't work if there is already 144 groups.   18. Briefing ? Don't you just put "this execVM "Briefing.sqf";" in the init.sqf That's what i do for my missions anyway :)

  20. Hmm in my missions (I don't have the addaction) However the vehicle executes a locator.sqf file in order for the mobile respawn to work. (So i assume the same applies) the trouble with naming the vehicle in scripts is that it changes the name after it respawns (I believe) So i don't know if it will work for you but on my mission what i do is put all the scripts etc after the vehicle respawn script (It could be total coincidence and of no help :)) but i hope that helps in some way as i think the editor goes through each script in order therefore if you stick it after your respawn script it should be there ? But if there is some "Proper" way of doing it i'le let you know or please let me know too :) Dan Edit: So try making a code that allows you to call in the support and add that to the vehicle ?

  22. Hi As always i apologise incase this does already exist ( I do search honest ! ;) ) However i've had an idea... Is it possible to make a script that allows the player to have a "Build" menu not like warfare mode. So basically when you "Scroll" through your options you can say for example place a H-Barrier ? A bit like a sandbox mode i suppose but not quite :P. I don't really know how to explain it properly but hopefully you all get the jist. So my question is this possible and how would i do it :D ?   23. I was thinking more of a "Build up Base and defend" mission either against i know *sigh* ...zombies.... or against waves of enemies as you could have a countdown trigger not letting the enemies move towards you until say 10 mins has passed and you have been able to build your base :D
  24. Hi Everyone I have trawled the internet and forums for an easy answer to a mobile respawn or a moving respawn. There has been many options none of which have worked :( So i have made this thread in order for everyone to put anything they have on mobile respawns on here in order to help. In my case i made a moving respawn (Not a mobile one as techincally that would have the option to spawn at base too ? ) However after the MR has been destroyed the mission always gives a unit a new name so in the coding if the vehicle is named "Mhq" after it has been destroyed the coding no longer applies due to it's name being changed. So how do i stop this from happening as this would prove helpful for other situations aswell such as granting airstrikes to a named unit. Thank's Alot Dan :D
  25. No it does not work it says Type Script expected nothing Edit: I've got it to work however you do not spawn on the mobile hq :P Is there something i'm missing ? I've put everything where it needs to be and named the vehicle mhq and changed all the v's to mhq ? (I was trying this it didn't work as _v so) And do i need a marker pre-placed or ? I spawned on the normal marker when it was pre-placed however when it isn't there i just respawn exactly where i die ? Thanks Dan
