Subcomponent damage for fixed wing aircraft
coopr replied to andycolgan's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - SUGGESTIONS
I indeed would love to see these in game. Not expecting il2 damage models but engine/targeting instruments failures and so on would be great! -
rocket launcher bug in Operation Flashpoint
coopr replied to Patchman123's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - SUGGESTIONS
Or the times you think on the top of a roof that your rocket won't hit the building your shooting from when aiming down. -
How about stop trying to make constant changes to the ai. I have seen enough changes and improvements. Your playing against COMPUTER controlled enemys they are and will never be as clever and unpredictable as HUMAN controlled enemys. Please bis pick up features from dev heaven that will improve pvp gameplay!

Upd filter:Do not display CO servers, OA only users.
coopr replied to strykeeer's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - SUGGESTIONS
I would like to see more filters aswell. Country, ping, hide empty, hide full, ping under ... and please give us an option to make a favourites list. And I know there are 1000 community launchers who have these functions. But I just want to use these functions in game. -
Aircraft throttle, keyboard! "Sticky throttle"
coopr replied to Posta's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - SUGGESTIONS
I rather would like to keep the leaning keys free. In the hope someday we could lean inside jet cockpits to see mdf. Or lean out side a littlebird to check your landing. But the keyboard system as it is now is great? I think what you are suggesting already works with a joystick with throttle slider. I would rather like to see some manual throttle in vehicles. It's annoying you can't drive the same speed as infantry. Or a slow moving truck etc -
Looking forward to it! :)!! Good luck!!

If you get blown to pieces by a close he shell I wouldn't concern about the gear. I think that you can't reuse any of the equipment if that person was just hit by he shell.

The "Interesting Questions about the Game" thread, according to Instagoat
coopr replied to instagoat's topic in TAKE ON HELICOPTERS - GENERAL
I'm still questioning who is going to buy a game like take on. And if it really becomes a success. It's hard to set foot into the flight simulator game gerne. The ones that are popular are all titles which made a name into this genre. Il2, Flightsimulator, x-plane etc. these are all names which had several titles. The aspect of an accessible flightsimulator has came into the mind of alot of combat flightsimulator makers. Their a dozens of wII dogfight games but how many of those "easy" accessible titles became succesfull?? -
After the release I don't want to see any AI requests/features or improvements for the upcoming 4 patches.. I hope bis picks up some pvp related cit tickets :). Anyway great work BIS!! You guys are really doing a great job!

I'm getting annoyed of those coop realistic wannabes who have to flame every gamepaly fix. And start to compare every suggestion of a pvp player with the game cod. It's always the same bullsh*t. If something is difficult it is realistic in their eyes. You should get stuck in every doorway.. that gives that extra realistic effect... you should not be able to reload while moving? You should not be able to switch weapon while moving. You should not be able to lean into doorways. Your rifle should get stuck into a small alley when you turn. Is That how a realistic game should look? It is payable like that if your facing ai with the mind of a 5 year old kid. No offensive to the ai of arma2 because it's superior compared to any other game but still they suck compared to human players. And that's why we need suggestions who fix those issues to make the game playable. Realism is fine but never lose gameplay out of the eye.

Project Reality - WIP Discussion
coopr replied to craig.turner's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
lol.. I don't think thats really accurate.. -
I'm happy about the fact now your weapon doesn't get stuck. I seriously don't understand why people would like to undo this bug fix? So it should be difficult to enter a door? this makes the game more realistic? I know all the CQB procedures of entering a room lower your weapon move true door etc. and this is all possible if you have an A.I with the mind of a 1 year old in the room you are trying to enter. But try this procedure into a pvp server and before even entering try to lean into the door and see if there is anyone in the room. The moment you are lowering your weapon to try and look around the corner your dead..

Realistic handling & suspension on wheeled vehicles
coopr replied to Bazul14's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - SUGGESTIONS
+1 :) -
Im tired of people who think a unplayable game is a realistic simulation.. Im not suggesting we have to dolpin dive all over the place thats retarted but yes manteling or what so ever would be a great addition to get on a small roof or what so ever.. if a soldier in real life would get a better overview of the situation he would climb on the roof why shouldn't you be able to do that ingame. And even with 35kg of equipment "trained" soldiers can get over walls etc.

 seriously that doesn't make sense at all.. we are talking about render to texture. adding a few more features doesn't require a 10+ core.. if they are overrushed bad coded and implemented yes.. then they will. Besides they are still optimizing the game
-
patched?? i call it work around... I would rather like to see some physics engine improvements. :j:
-
agreed.. why wouldn't it be possible to add more effects to the rv engine?? Nothing is impossible.. but it would probably take some time to add these features. But before of these graphical features i have to agree with purepassion.. where is our beloved render to texture? We really need this addition to the rv engine.. and it probably isn't going to be to hard to implement as they already done it into vsb2. Are there any big differences between vsb2 engine and arma2 in a coding/how thinks are implemented way?

Sounds fun. Some kind of independence day mod would be awesome

FRL Airforce Addons release thread
coopr replied to [frl]myke's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
how do I get the gps ins system into the f16? I changed the load out and added 6 jdams and 2 agm-114. I don't get the gps/ins in the action menu. But the bombs do hit target when testing online and someone lases a target. When I fly the a10 jdam it works perfectly fine. So do I need to add some line into the intalisation of the f16 to get the gps/ins module? The gps/ins module isn't connected to the bombs it has under it wings then? for example when you load jdams the action gps ins shows up? -

Project Reality - WIP Discussion
coopr replied to craig.turner's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
It's great that community members make autoupdaters and try to make the mod installation proces more easier. As it is now in arma2. But if no one told you there is an autoupdater for the mod you wouldn't knew. And thats where the regular game should kick in. They could for example with probably not to much effort at least create better a better message when a player tries to connect without a mod. I believe in arma2 now it's something like "You can not play/edit this mission without downloadable content?". Which in my opinion doesn't really help a newcomer to arma2. And I'm sure everyone knows this message because it pops up every 10 min in the more popular servers. I'm question how many of these players who get this message actually know what it means? You often see the same names trying to reconnect which is in my eyes the evidence they don't know what to do and just think: "Thats wierd can't join this server, probably a bug let's reconnect and see if I can get in now." Why are their no server information parameters like you have on other games? Unreal, COD etc.. where you have a button called server info and are able to see what settings and parameters the server is running. With out have to connect to the server. Straight out of the server browser. If there are server info paramters. You could easly create a decent description where a newcomer can find information in how he can get his arma2 or what ever game in proper condition to connect to the server. For example( You can not play on this server because you are missing "parameter server_mod";. For more information visit "parameter mod_website"; ) -

For you and me installing a mod into arma2, rfactor or any other game may be easy but for the majority it isn't. Besides I can't really call rfactor a common game. Rfactor probably has the most shity mod management of all. No decent distribution you have to download your cars and tracks from Megaupload or any other free upload website. Their are like 500 version of the same track and every server has a different track. if your really unlucky the server is using a custom track and custom cars when that occurs your really screwed. The point is this generation doesn't want to read a manual in how to install a game. They want to discover their self and if they can't seem to get it work they go play another game. Asks a regular youngster if he ever read the manual of his cellphone or any other electronic device. @Linux I'm very happy for you that your going to use Linux but that doesn't really impress me I have to work with Linux for my profession. And if you ask me it should stay there. Windows sometimes sucks but you are at least able to play games on it decently without having to run windows emulators and crappy drivers. At the end every one switches back to windows for gaming and why? BECAUSE IT'S EASY! -

I totaly agree with the fact that mods are way to difficult to install.. I have no problems using six updater what so ever.. but I lost the count how many people I had to help getting them started with six updater. What people want is just a simple installer which gives them a shortcut on there desktop and when they double click they run the mod. No messing around with parameters or arma2 launcers. But you can't just blame the mods.. arma2 isn't made user friendly aswell. The menus etc. Im glad project reality is having a look at those. I hope they also change the way joining a server is working atm. Why do we have to look at 23234 different loading bars.. First you have to wait for host.. then ur in a totaly useless lobby.. get rit of that. Just load the map and let a player choose the side and classes ingame like it is on more user friendly games..
