Of course resting your weapon will have benefits to shooting, but this is not the case for Arma, we can't exactly rest our weapons on anything(not yet anyways ;)) Between all the rifles I have shot, I have NEVER had recoil that looked like that, I have NEVER had to readjust my aim on a .22 shoulder fired from a standing position as dramatically as he explained, which is why I laughed so hard. It barely recoils, and he is trying to use it for an example in stead of using a real rifle or an assault rifle, not a pea shooter. At no point have I ever had a rifle that the tip of barrel went 2cm+(For the americans thats not even an inch) up off its mark after squeezing a round as I am TRYING to shoot to kill like it shows in that video from an unrested position. The recoil is 100% unrealistic in that video and the people who said it was realistic have just played to much COD and BF run and gun games. Give us MilSim if I wanted to sprint around a map no bigger than an airport terminal, and have guns jump all over the place when fired in attempt to get people to slow down, i'll buy MW2. They claim to be realistic right?
  2. Has no one shot a rifle before? You get the recoil IRL, but with the muscle memory it won't do that ridiculous climbing thing it does there. Maybe tone it down to the point where it comes back down and is slightly off center. Kinda like how the old version is... I want MilSim!! Not Battlefield: Bad Company 2.5, please don't take the run and gun balance system and put it in Arma... For those that say its realistic, and I am sure 99% of you have not shot a gun before. When he adjusts his rifle, thats automatic, he does not have to actually think to do it, its his muscle memory. He just needs to adjust slightly to put the rounds exactly where he wants them. Watch any soldier firing weapons on Youtube, its all the same, after firing the gun, it automatically goes right back to its position and the soldier barely has to adjust a hair to put what hes firing on back in his crosshairs and he squeezes another round down range. Please don't put this horrible run and gun balance system in a tactical game like Arma... it ruins it completely.
  3. So I downloaded this, And my Arma no longer launches. Please don't put out more expansions. Ever.
  4. ACE2 skins are compatable with OA smarty pants. ACE2 comes with desert MARPATS But I need the Marine models to do it.
  5. This "Standalone Expansion" is starting to seem a lot more Standalone than I like it. Bought both copies through Steam. Nothing BIS or STEAM does works. Fix it, I want my Marines in Takistan. None of this ACU garbage, and unrealistic weapons.
  6. Was it mentioned anywhere that the USMC units from Arma2 are being transfered over for desert cammies along with their vehicles, weapons, etc. ?

    You can't Play this game Multiplayer.

    The servers I use have 20+ people on each night, they're public servers that use ACE and sometimes Isla Duala maps. Don't see the troubles you guys are getting...

    And we have one of those too if you're interested, i'm giving people an option to come play on servers that encourage teamwork, have voice comms outside of ArmA's and have admins present 99% of the time. Nothing more, nothing less.

    Hey there, 15thMEU(SOC) Realism Unit's servers are up and running, we support teamwork and have a working ventrillo for those of you that want to do what we call Realism Play. Come join us for some fun, simply filter for 15th and our servers should pop up. Once inside ask for ventrillo information and someone should get back to you when they're not in a fire fight.   11. I just finished a rifle range(first with ACE2) for my realism unit. Results were all the same. 200m shots missing when sights were dead on targets. 300m even worse. 500m well... I shot once target was hit near its base, didnt move the sights let the target pop back up, another shot was fired way over the target on a sign thats put up so we know which lane we're shooting in. and it must be at least 6 meters over the targets that we're aiming for. And the fact that an M16's engagement range is 600m before the bullet loses kill power and you're hitting and killing targets at 1000m? (I'm not kidding, It's hilarious)
  12. The dispersion that ace simulates is horrid. 200m - rifles(M16A2 to be exact) are hitting 2 feet off the mark in any which direction. If you're trying to simulate wind or something... don't... it's bad. at 200m those rifles should be barely an inch off with gale force winds, it is ridiculous that it goes off by so much. It only gets worse(which dispersion should but not to that extreme... unless you're a bad shot which Marines should be as they are taught marksmanship all throughout training and while they're in service.) when you get further.
  13. Hey Rip31st. I downloaded this mod when it was first released. Have you done more detailed work to the Normandy map rather than a bunch of trees and bushes formed in H's and made towns like Carentan historically correct? This is not meant to rag on the mod... I actually want to know because I was excited for the map... and then it was a bit of a let down with the lack of detail. I understand the map is HUGE, but you can advertise and sell a much better mod with just the map alone being worked on.
