  1. Still nothing :( Ok so this is what I have down as of now. http://pastebin.com/N1x9K93K And here is my error log once packing it. Mostly the error with vest_base, but I can't see how that stops the whole unit from showing in the editor.
  2. Good spot, I checked and couldnt find it, also I changed the VIPRR_Soldier_Base back to Side= 1. Still no dice.
  3. Hey BMCha, changed the lines of code you suggested. Unfortunately it still doesn't work. :(
  4. http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?85579-Simple-ArmA-2-Terrain-Tutorial Translates over to A3.

    Influx of casuals to Arma

ArmA 3 was announced Mid 2011 via the ARG hosted by BIS. I fail to see how the influx of new people to the series has funded the game. If anything the success and development of the standalone DayZ has halted any production to ArmA 3. Hence the release date has been changed twice already. Let them come I say, and let them see the error of their ways.

    Digital Maps?

Welcome to the first day of the rest of your life. :D

    Digital Maps?

Games like Battlefield and CoD call them maps yes, mostly because you can't call a controlled area an island. (levels/area of play maps).

    Digital Maps?

I don't understand how they can make it any clearer. Map is a map. Island is an island. (Digital) Map is of the island(s) which will come in .pdf standard. Digital Maps* – Plan your combat operations with the highly detailed maps of Altis and Stratis. (REAL) Digital Maps* – Play your combat operations with the highly detailed islands of Altis and Stratis. (FAKE) See the difference? :)
  9. Mr-Murrays Editing Guide has everything you need to know, it was made for armed assault, but translates over to ArmA 2, and ArmA 3. What it doesn't cover is some of the extra things that came with ArmA 3. It's also 332 pages, so if your serious on learning the ropes, start there.
  10. As I've stated in another thread. They will add things to A3 that have proven popular in the previous titles. Examples are: SMK animations, Soul Assassins Paladin, ACE2 Mines (trip wires and all), First Aid kits. The list goes on. This is not saying they copy or use the same thing, they are used as inspiration and sometimes as a guideline. ______ But to answer your question, mods should stay as mods, as not everyone likes them. Having them part of the vanilla game wouldn't be a good thing.
  11. Why don't you just, right click on ArmA 3, click properties, then click set launch parameters and add -mod=@sthud; it takes less time and is more effective than doing it via the ingame expansions feature, which was mundane the day it first popped up.

Why not add killstreaks to the game?

this thread reaks of fail. OT: Why on earth idd I have to go through a image captcha to post??

    Streetlamp upgrade - alpha I

Great addition!! Street lamps in cities over here stay on almost until it's fully bright, same for greece. So this is a needed addition for realism. :ok: It's safe to say dev build is required for this correct? Just so Armaholic can add that as a requirement.

How can i use the Bipod ?

You've obviously not played the series for very long (which I am not criticizing) as every sequel to the original has added features the modding community first added, just look with SoulAssassins Paladin, that has made it into A3, aswell of a whole host of mines from ACE2, including Tripwire mines! The list goes on. Same goes for smookies animations, though he was actually hired to implement these. Every sequel to the original armed assault has been improved by features or models (not used by BI but created themselves) made by the modding community, essentially the resource of BI's success. Of course with engine upgrades etc Name a single thing the devs have focused on that the modding community hasn't already made. ;)
  15. I guess you didn't read my full post, that you quoted..... try again.

    Does This Look Familiar?

All vehicles used are based on real life counter-parts, or similar.
  18. No, I do not agree with you, having GPS is all that's needed... If you having got that, basic orienteering skills can help you find your position.
  19. A circle 2 maybe 3 km is not an approximate position. ;)
  20. I understand, I think this was possible in A2/OA when walking, you used to get the walking animation with binoculars by your side, but of course when you stopped you brought them back to your face. ACE2 did exactly what you want, but still kept the binoculars at the face, right clicking would allow you to look through the viewfinder. The way I read your OP was that you would like the ability to look through binoculars while retaining the ability to shoot, essentially you could have a weapon that uses Iron Sights and still make long range kills using the binoculars as you aiming point, ala ofp. The link that Smurf shown is exactly what I thought you meant, and it seems you also meant this. I can't agree with having such a feature. If of course I have read your OP the wrong way then disregard the above ;)
  21. I had a bit of a brainstorm last night while playing, and got to thinking why have we not got head mountable binoculars yet? It would take the slot of night vision in day use of course, and for night use you would still have the option for hand-held binoculars (if people still use binocs at night). You could even combine the two, much like the rangefinder in OA. I think the time it takes to equip the binoculars in the alpha is a lot faster then it was in A2/OA and it makes sense if they slow it down more, as you are essentially taking the binoculars out of your bag/pack and then using the. No to being able to have binoculars used while gun is still operational, you may aswell just take a high powered scope.... as this is what that feature would be used for primarily.

    Invasion 1944 V3.0

That's a bunch of lies, fed by conspiracy theorists!
  23. This ^. We had an action man on the server the other night who was great atr communicating, not a bad player, but HAD to use the side channel when communicating with the small squad he was leading within 20 metres distance. I hate to say it, but some limitation like what DayZ had would be good.
  24. As ryanbeckey also said, it may be a feature of Mercenary/Elite difficulty as I've not seen it before in other difficulty modes. I guess to remove it the host would have to look through his Mercenary settings, and adjust accordingly.

How can i use the Bipod ?

Well, there you go.. you didn't play it and you thought wrong. Bipods are do-able, most people who have played the series longer then ArmA 3 know that. If BIS take the time to implement a bit of extra config maybe even an animation they'll please a horde of fans. Maybe a link to said feedback thread, for the lazy? :D
