We always take some time to look at add ons like this and how they may benefit us in the Mod, we would be ignorant not too ;)

    Project Reality - WIP Discussion

An Update is overdue indeed, and our initial release date is way over schedule. However the reason for this, is quite simply because, what the team have started to create has far exceeded what my aim was for v0.1. All of this is very good, and well worth waiting for what will be a great "PR Core", and something to take forward with more frequent updates from the team. Don't get me wrong, I am itching to get this released myself, but I need to hold back until the time is right and things are doing what they should do. .
  3. Project Reality would be happy to take this on yeah sure, if it helps get a model created and ingame, so yes we did send a pm out. .

Not quite, PR: ArmA2 made it into the top 100 of all the entries for "unreleased mods", over all the Mod's on all platforms within the gaming world. Phase 2 voting starts soon, more to follow in the update for December .
  5. No updates as to who this has been given too I presume then ?

At present its still WIP, however once we have it at a final version we can assist as required sure. I am currently putting together a PR Update, which I hope to have out in the next week or so ..... things are going very slowly at the moment however ... but at least they are moving in the right direction. .
  7. This vehicle is a High Priority for Project Reality, having been involved in some of the trials for this vehicle I can tell you its a pretty good concept, and a good vehicle. .

I know its been a while since out last official update, but we are working on one as we speak, so we should have something out for you to see in a week or 2. What I can say is that things are really coming together now.

No it will be a while yet, due to our BF2 Release, which is a pretty major one, that has taken priority this month. There will be a November one though ;) .

It is only a proof of concept at this stage, not even at alpha stage yet ;)

A small update just to show something that the Devs work on during breaks from the PR Core Dev work. Here is an example of a small cell terrain (small cell = takistan 10 meter detail between cells Example shown = 1 meter) , we have trialed a 1m cell size terrain and Beta testers are currently doing some small trials, we are trying to ascertain whether or not it is feasible for the average machine to run a highly detailed terrain with smooth fps in MP, this allows for us to better simulate natural cover between objectives rather than relying on manually placed objects. This is likely to be investigated further post V.01 and if found to be acceptable we hope to implenet some good unit based missions. 1BHpSDtM_Hc

You may, but its not actually in the courseware yet, although the D&M school are using it in their Simulators now, for CR2 Driver training. I'll be one of your Warrant Officers at the CIS School when you get here ;)

Exactly right, we are just bringing "one" type of gameplay to add to the number of others out there ........ adding more choice quite simply.

Well thats me AFK for the weekend :D I am sure I will have a sore head come Sunday afternoon, if not something did not go right. Well it wasn't the Tank Museum, it was the Armour Centre itself, where I work so I arranged for a weeks worth of recording for the Sound Engineers of all the current British Armour we have, including Live firing on Lulworth ranges. I also run yearly get togethers for the Dev team too, so we can get to know each other, with funnily enough one happening this weekend that I am arranging - 2010 Dev Meet up. This one will be in Lulworth (AFV Gunnery School), so apart from drinking beer, having a good old LAN with VBS2 / PR: ArmA2 Beta / PR: BF2 etc, I can also let them climb all over the armour, and get them in the CR2 Simulators etc. We have Devs from all around Europe turning up for it too, its a great thing, as we get to meet in real life and have a beer or three, which helps a lot. I have created a Blog all ready, which I am sure during the weekend will be full of "crazy", drunken pictures of the team  See link: Project Reality Developer Weekend 2010

To be honest, its a mixed feeling for us all. In one way, the sense of working with such a restrictive engine, and getting it to do things that is nearly impossible - is a motivator, and keeps the team driving forward and pushing it to its limits, [R-DEV]dbazo our main coder has managed to do amazing things with the engine over the years. On the other hand, the chance to work with a very Mod friendly engine like ArmA2, is again a challenge to see what new things can be done that maybe have not been done before. So really they both have pros and cons for Developers.

We had a private agreement with DICE some time ago to be allowed to take what we wanted from the SF Pack and bring it into PR direct, hence no requirement for the player to have the SF Pack. So yes - BF2 patched up with the latest PR Mod. If anything it will give you all a feel for the sort of gameplay we inted to bring into PR: ArmA2. I will warn you though, it may take some time to get used to. Its a million years away from BF2 these days.
