  1. The exe files are already LAA.

hm, on my installation its wrong, at least for 1.10 A2[vanilla]version.

modifying header cause no impact on IO scale nor size of used memory :[

so i guess i do something wrong or its not implemented properly or only exist in AO binaries.

If you say that's funny, I'd hate to read something you think is dull.

different kind of humans had different kind of humor, so its definitely funny in mine. definitely hilariously straighforwarded[with skipping about 50% essential info, huge pictures and "click here and bird fly out "boom!"-simplifications :]explanation/how-to "how to port 32-bit codebase to 64-bit" :P

you implying to be able read peoples brain is funny too, thanks.

basically what im think is nobody else business, until i shared such minds with someone, which isn't case nor precise["dull" not equal to "funny". please visit you oftalmologist. tnx for cooperation, buddy].

  2. its initially planned[right before Pakis acquire HUGE batch of AA stuff and tanks, which spoils US DoD calculations/plans], as before. not Afghanistan entered before to cover deployment/activity here. so US move here eventually, snath Pakistan WMD[which they have, to constrast with iraq, Iran or probably DPRK]and fly home.

  3. this can soften thing[4Gb memory instead of 2Gb limit on 32-bit systems]a bit, before 64-bit binaries arrive.

not sure how much modification it required to code itself or just start work "from box" after altering flag in PE header.

simple tool, designed to alter PE header[not sure how this affect BE checks so backup binary and do on offline only], sadly MS NetFramefork-depndant. otherwise you can use any PE resources editor, like CFF explorer for example.

  4. Hello, I have just joined this forum, and is it possible to play arma 2 off a flash drive? Because I tried to play it off a different and better laptop, I just used the crappy 5 (or more) years old laptop to install it and it gives me the "bad serial key given" error and the thing is that I have used the search function and all of the gives me the steam edition and I don't like to have it steamed because I just barely had enough room for just ARMA 2, reason being that I only have a 16GB flash drive so.... Help and parley from the flaming that I will probably get for asking the reoccurring issue?

Thanks for the help and it just got to me that this might be the wrong section

if you too experienced for registry editing, [which many advised in that case], just mount you flash-drive/SSD/ramdisk in particular folder of you harddrive[or leave it as "drive letter"], copy installed Arma2 here, make[copy/edit?] shortcut, tweak registry[tune path to new location] and launch it here. basically using flash[or ramdisk]ease things a bit, but not on desired scale. Arma2 desperately NEED 120x bigger RAM bandwidth and even more diff latency.

  5. to topic-starter: enumerated by your [unique]Arma2 advantages is answer to you "Why light in Arma2 imperfect?" question/trolling in title.

try and notice adjusting "Shadows detail" parameters impact on Arma2 performance[on most PC's i saw its cause major slowdown, aside MSAA x8 or view-distances above 2.5k-6k(depend HW)].

  6. Please make mission making use less scripting. Use many more drop down lists in Waypoints, triggers, and in game radio calling features that spawn results from base without scripting. Examples: Call in custom airstrike, custom resupply trucks, custom reinforcements. The airstrike would spawn at base, navigate to you, hit location you set on map and then RTB and actually fly there, land, and dismiss.

Custom supply truck convoy spawns from base navigates using streets and not forest, steep mountain,or deep water, delivers supply and if fail they radio to you mission incomplete and why(destroyed by ambush enemy airstrike etc). Call in C-130 that spawns at base and navigates to you dropping custom supplies and reinforcements and RTB. Call in UAV that spawns and gives you thermal image screen of nearby activity. Complete artillery templates that spawn artillery when radio called by either side and do not disappear and stay available for radio fire mission until destroyed by enemy.

Waypoints that have larger selection to have units: set up camp, set up perimeter, construct base, set up triage, search an entire building,Use nearest vehicles by default etc, etc.

Playable AI that respawn and find nearest vehicle and navigate back to squad leader instead of walking 10 miles in straight line crossing deep water ignoring the bridge 10meters away and showing up to squad leader ready to fight a tank with only a pistol because he let his gear sink in deep water.LOL

Radio calls in game that call for custom helicopter extractions that spawn from base or your choice and navigate to your map location and wait til your in and take you where you need to go without scripting.

Tiggers that spawn Opfor/Blufor custom size and amount units to attack do etc. without scripting

Make scenario and mission making easier for the average joe who doesn't know how to or have time to learn scripting and code.

    ie you ask about:

    1. enabling pre-processing of triggers[not scripts ONLY]

    2. make triggers more numerous, versatile and manageable.

    ???

All comments from BIS so far say that physX will be CPU only. No one will be better or worse off than anyone else with different gfx brands.

yup, basically PhysX is easy to use tools to introduce physics into you products.

all-hardware, except CPU, including NVidia/SGI/Elvis/Macron-made was irrelevant to practical implementation and was just reason of desperate attempts to use lockout to extract monetary profits from "helping" gamedevs introduce PhysX in game.

and after you learn and collect some experience with PhysX you notice slone imperfections, flaws, unsuitable or capping you projects, eventually. so sooner or later you grow-out of PhysX.

  8. 5 mins is all i need to get any pbo to work on a server ...

BE is weak against memory hacks, polymorphism ...

What the game needs is something like an antivirus + anti pbo spoofing.

My statement above was a conclusion, and it's the most constructive thing i can come with for now :D

yup, integrity checking[and real-time monitoring]system with kernel-space stuff[where most cheaters-essential things reside too, sometimes. so it can combat it]or even SMI control-backed anti-cheat.

I would of said VAC but it requires Steam so I voted BE.

Steam sucks as VAC are[or vice versa ? nervemind]!

  9. DirectX11[for multi-threaded rendering b-ends benefits, mainly]renderer, OpenGL renderer[to allow use 4.x and 5.x shaders on WindowsXP userbase :P]

x64 binaries. to get rid of swapping with viewdistances above 400m with testures above "low" and full-scale maps[on 2kmx2km "isle" no swap, of course]

more multi-threading-ready, scalable, binaries. or at least, offload some side tasks to other streams/core, like sounds[eat notable CPu sometimes]physics, AI.

pre-process triggers TOO !! not Only "scripts".

  10. nice addon. suitable both for counter-insurgency ops and covert ops, training, respectively.

would be nice if it persist undetectable[w/o special devices in soldier, or more likely, vehicle, equipment/inventory and this would be time-consuming].

also would be nice to add ability to "mine anything" like in RL, insurgents/saboteurs do. vertical surfaces, horizontal ones, plants, trees, houses/doorways, vehicles, roads, even animals [imagine chicken, rushing toward you in patrol, screaming "Alah Akbar !!" :P].

  11. oh. without using profiler and then debugger i can't say FOR SURE, what bottleneck in You particular case. but lack of memory for Arma2 is next possible problem after CPU scalability. in vehicles warfare with mediocre[!!]viewdistance you harddrive nearly dying swapping data[textures, island, etc], let alone FLYING :(

so basically Arma2 patches and Arma3 NEED solid multi-threaded optimization as well 64-bit binaries.

    p.s.

lucky you, "60 fps as best", i get about 19fps in Warfare, sometimes :[

    ACE also notable resource-eater, sadly.

  12. thats wasn't meaning. you put you bogus/internet-backed "knowledge" against by almightly real-world experience ? you FAIL then !!! hahahaha *Evil laugh*

note: some people can be right or can be wrong. but what is important they was DIFFERENT, as well as their opinions differ, sometimes.

as well as differ their reasons/experience/logic behind such opinions in absence of such.

so you can safely can have yours and im keep mine as well as im enjoy in REAL-life benefits of using of them. and [attempts of]sharing them.

  13. None of these tips are valid.

A "LargeFileCache" reg key does not exist - you mean "LargeSystemCache", and that setting is no longer used since before Windows Vista. And those users who are running older versions of Windows are absolutely not advised to use this setting, as it can cause huge problems.

As for DisablePagingExecutive and IOPageLockLimit, neither will have any effect unless you are still running Windows 2000 with a very small amount of RAM, in which case you most likely aren't an Arma player. Newer Windows versions simply don't read these values.

I can distinctly remember someone peddling these bullshit tips around here before... I guess that was you.

    you right ! "LargeSystemCache", right.

no, its used and very-well used in server-version of Windows, up to Win8 server and on by default on them.

it "can use huge" problem in some cases, but sadly, there is no other way to check "for sure" w/o trying. imagine servers users, frustration, when they found thats newbough RAID controller[or remote management device or ... anything]drivers break FS, with this key, leaved in peace/default :-/

yeah, calling anyone else words bullshit is best bullshit evAr, sure !

guess harder then. and w/o perfonal offense/violation of This resource 'terms of use', please.

    p.s. fixed typo, thanks.
