I too found that sound was causing my crashes. I have a wireless Plantronics headset that runs at a frequency that causes the game to crash. I have to disable the device to start arma properly. I also found that I had many in game glitches prior to updating my sound drivers for my sound card. Once those where up to date the sound and visual issues I was having have gone away. I did also run the directX install that comes on the CD as it is not the default one that comes with Windows 7. If I'm not mistaken Arma uses 9 and not 10. Installing the older directx might help some of you guys with random game crashes. Running Windows 7 64-bit Intel I7 6gm ram Nvidia gtx 285
