  1. The most I've seen arma2 use was 1.2GB or so, windows 7 takes about 1GB, with a 2.8 GB ramdisk I can say with almost certainty that your pagefile will not be used for arma, with a 3.3GB ramdisk windows will be paging and performance will go down drastically. What exactly happens between the 2.8 and 3.3 I dont know, this is all for 6GB ramdisks of course.

I'm not sure what you mean. Are you saying if I keep my main RAM @2.7 Gig, and the RAM disk @3.3 gig that my performance will go down because I haven't lefrt enough RAM for Windows & base ARMA2?

  2. Yeeeeaaa! I finally "get it". I read the PDF no less than 3 times and I still didn't pick up on that. I was a little worried with the "single key, no key combos, no joystick buttons", but then I realized I can use the Saitek software to make my joystick buttons mimic a key-press so I should be able to use all that with my joystick/throttle.

Thanks for the help and clarification! :bounce3:

  3. Use MMA keys (default or your own custom ones) to cycle through MMA HUD modes in every plane/chopper or vehicle. With F you will able to cycle only non-guided weapons. You have all this info in the included PDF as well as the online readme (HUD section).

There's definitely something wrong. I was already doing that and what happen's is I go to change weapons (while in the correct HUD view). For example, I'm in air-to-air mode (HUD), and I've got multiple AA missiles. I hit the "change gunner weapon" button and it will flash the missile and immediately switch bad to the GAU gun. I made a youtube video to show you exactly what's wrong, but youtube's having maintenance at the moment so I can't post the link.

I've also setup the custom key settings like you described in your pdf manual just in case that was it too. Next I'll run it without my joystick to see if something weird is going on there. As soon as youtube is back up I'll add to this post so you can see it. Thanks for your help :)

Oh I'm using your latest version 2.4b5

    ----------------

OK not my joystick. I'll now unload all my others mods and see if it works properly.

  4. Guys, I have some hearing issues whereas I have a constant tinny sound in my ears from massive doses of antibiotics from when I was on a ventilator and in a coma.

Is there any possible way I can turn off the "high-pitched tinny" sound when I launch a missile or have one impact near me? It makes the bad noise in my ears worse for hours after I've played the game. I think the effect is superb, but I just can't handle it.

Thanks so much for your splendid work. :)

  5. I have 6 Gig of triple channel memory. I set my Ram Disk size to 3 Gig and to my srpise resource monitor shows only 100 Meg free when the game is loaded. I was under the impression the game + OS only used 2 Gig? Theere is 800 Meg in a section called standby memory. Is this Superfetch cache?

If so, should I turn off superfetch when play Arma 2 and make a bigger ram disk? If not, is it possibel sueprfetch can do as good a job as a RAM Disk?

Otherwise for a 3 Gig Ram Disk, what files should I put in it?

    Thanks! :)

  6. @jpinard

This happend if you use the "Special FX" feature of Group Link 4 which needs up to 3 seconds after mission start to initialize.

If something of the "Special FX" gets executed bevore the "Special FX" feature was initialized completly you will get this error message.

Guess this happend directly after the Scenario: Benchmark #2 was started.

    Correct! Thanks :)

This thread really needs to be stickied. Very important.

  7. The light at the end of this tunnel here will hopefully come soon... from Saitek. I spoke to them and they said they have an 'axis features pack' coming soon to an SST upgrade... this would hopefully enable us to tweak ranges, reverse outputs and all kinds of cool stuff within the SST, so we could bypass all these limitations the games throw at us :bounce3:

For real?! WOW, this would be so awesome. Did they give you a timeline? Did you talk to them via e-mail, phone, or forum?

  8. I have zero problems using the analogue throttle at all and I can maintain both desired height and speed in both fixed wing and rotary.

Despite Elbe's advice, I've found that using only the analogue throttle bindings and removing the others to be the best setup.

See attached image for my setup using the X-52.

Interesting. I have my slider set to zoom in/out right now but will have to give that a try instead. Maybe I can change zoom in/out to one of the rotary dials.

  9. @Winchester Delta_1 :

That looks anormal. Many people can do it work very well on dedicated and non dedicated. And joining in progress or not.

Redownload the demo mission and test it again please.

If you have again a problem, check your RPT files on server and player and send me any interesting content.

Do you use a specific addon on server or player ?

    @jpinard :

    > "Is there a way I can use just the logistics part of this package (the moving stuff around and loading stuff onto trucks)?"

Do you mean you want to disable the artillery features ?

If so, yes you can. Read the installation manual and open the "R3F_ARTY_disable_enable.sqf" file.

    > "Is this compatible with ACE2 and all its extras?"

Yes. But the default configuration in the v1.3 doesn't take care of ACE2 objects. But you can add them yourself.

Adding the ACE2 objects in the default configuration is a task in the TODO list (see first message). And it is already done (for v1.4) but not yet released.

    > "Is the logistics part compatible with Mando Missiles?"

Again yes. As you can add any logistics feature to any object, you can do anything you want.

[R3F] Artillery and Logistic is addon friendly.

Wow, you just made my day! I am sooo excited to start playing with this. It will evebn make random Armory missions more fun since I should be able to move my guns and stuff around.
