The Undead Mod
tim0288 replied to charon productions's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
could someone edit the alice module so it spawns a zombie along with the civies, getting annoyed at placing a zombie in a town and finding it has wandered off by the time the civs spawn. btw i love the idea of a spreading virus, such an innovative use of open world environments, my only gripe is with the unpopulated areas. are there no scripts that give civies basic functionality? i know of civ traffic module are there any others? just an idea: make civies spawn based on zombies relative location. ie. civs spawn when z is within 1000m etc. then you could place one z and allow to roam infecting the whole island in a truly procedural fashion! another idea: implement events that cause outbreak? ie. gas leak/radiation infecting all who come in to contact or rage infested monk- no wait that would be f**king stupid. -
Should be some kind of warning label on the box that says, "WARNING developers given up on this product." Just think of all the poor suckers to come. Although you probably had to be living in a cave not to realise codemasters had pulled a fast one on us by now.

I know it won't change anything. Just p!!ses me off that they specificly targeted us with that heap of crap. All that talk of community support and sandbox gameplay feels malicious. Just need to vent. God knows nobodys listening at the Cm forums.

Correct me if i'm wrong but none of us here are strictly "fan boys" are we? Ofp/Arma/Arma2 are not complete games for me they feel like open betas, stick with me this is not an insult, BI are snowed in still working hard on the next versions of this game. Out here the community are working hard to implement features to improve the game further. There isn't and hasn't been a better community/dev relationship in gaming history as far as i'm concerned. The point is we're all still here after years and years because theres momentum and every release from developer and community is a step closer to the perfect war sim. Now I don't really believe that any of us are that close minded not to have given OFP2 a go. We have the tools to keep this symbiotic relationship going because BI gave them to us. If codemasters had their sh*t wired they could of had a share of the potential here. OFP2 ain't great, but had they given us the tools and it could of been. Biggest mistake i've seen from a developer, build a game based on a sim that was so great due to its editing ability. then don't give them the tools to edit with. And I hope that fool got the sack for alienating 90% of that community with his smarmy comment. Man deserves a slap.
