Weapon Inertia & Sway Feedback (dev branch)
St. Jimmy replied to solzenicyn's topic in ARMA 3 - DEVELOPMENT BRANCH
From other topic: What we have now might not be final ;) -
If you want to ease up how quicly you get fatigued then likely you need to make fatigue gain harder/slower. Currently you can get fatigued pretty fast but you also gain it back very quickly.
-
Btw does anyone remember that in alpha it was possible to see the whole Stratis even with low view distance when you were enough high in the air but it was removed later?
-
I can't wait for the part2 download to test this thing! I'm still collecting my jaw from the ground :p

:butbut: That's freaking crazy!

All in Arma Terrain Pack (AiA TP) - A1/A2/OA terrains from BI in A3
St. Jimmy replied to .kju's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
I just found out that you need to delete all the older keys from the folders or server doesn't let you in. There wasn't any other message than "Session lost" so it was bit hard to find what was causing that. -
Why do we have such a low FPS in multiplayer(MP performance vs SP performance)
St. Jimmy replied to DancZer's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
Would be interesting to see some server benchmarks how some Intel CPU running 4GHz combined with good memories and connection runs same mission with same amount of people compared some CPU running at 3GHz. Just to learn how much a fast CPU server matters. -
If you mean the thing on the east island then yes I've seen that. That will be very interesting if/when it gets on the main island if it already isn't there?

Arma 3 CPU vs RAM performance comparison 1600-2133= up to 15% FPS gain
St. Jimmy replied to dasa's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
1600MHz CL9-9-9-24: - 53fps avg. on Altis benchmark 2133MHz CL9-11-10-28: - 58fps avg. on Altis benchmark Settings: Resolution is 1920x1080 Rig that the tests were done i7 2600K @ 4,4GHz GTX 680 2GB ASUS P8Z68-V LX Samsung SSD 840 250GB WD Caviar Blue 500GB Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit That's 9% increase. Next I'll try to squeeze some timings lower (aaaand I haven't been succesfull after 2 months...) If I can get some lower timings to match my 1600 sticks 10% could be achievable. Seems like I got very close results that the OP had. /Couldn't lower timings. Maybe turning object detaills down to standard would show some increase but that 9% is already enough proof for me :) -----------------------------------Edit 31.10.------------------------------------------ Now that I got my new cooler installed I dare to OC my CPU more. From 4,4GHz -> 4,7GHz made 5fps increase. This means that upgrading my memory and OC more my CPU I got 10fps increase in total in the benchmark. So if you're buying a new PC you should really go for a good memory and CPU cooler. If I would've bought these parts now and not after I would've only spent 30€-40€ (pretty much the price of the CPU cooler) more because there isn't much price difference with CL9 1600 and 2133 sticks. So getting low timing and high MHz sticks is worth it in Arma unlike in other games. -
Weapon Inertia & Sway Feedback (dev branch)
St. Jimmy replied to solzenicyn's topic in ARMA 3 - DEVELOPMENT BRANCH
This is how inertia is done in DayZ. The gun only drags behind but it settles down where you stopped your mouse and doesn't make weird left and right movements like in Arma 3. That's more like it should be in my opinion. Pretty much the same as in my right part of the last video. -
Aiming is becoming too difficult!
St. Jimmy replied to rimap-p90's topic in ARMA 3 - QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
I would also blame more the armor/wound/medical system than the aiming though the inertia could be better. -
Veteran mod (VTN) - announcement and WIP
St. Jimmy replied to dead kennedy's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
At this point: - Both have very nice quality uniforms and they're different. - RHS has vehicles and VTN doesn't. - VTN has very good amount of guns and accessories and they're very high quality. Sights really animate, there are many flash hiders etc that you can choose to suit your gun, good sounds, big variation of guns especially AK's. Too bad that the zoom doesn't work at all yet with the guns. RHS adds only very few guns to play with. Overall RHS for vehicles and VTN for guns and both of them have sexy clothing. VTN just needs to fix some crashes and bugs. Later I'd say these mods combined they'll form a USAF and RAF beast mod that everyone that loves those armed forces must have (and who doesn't?) :) Really you should download and find out because both of them have their own positive sides so far. You have to remember that both of them are in the early stages. -

Arma 3 CPU vs RAM performance comparison 1600-2133= up to 15% FPS gain
St. Jimmy replied to dasa's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
I've currently G.Skill RipjawsX 2x4GB 1600MHz CL9-9-9-24 and I'm getting G.Skill RipjawsX 2x4GB 2133MHz CL9-11-10-28 this week. Need to make tests and interesting to see some results. Hopefully my motherboard just doesn't suck and I can squeeze everything and maybe bit lower timings out from the new sticks :p -
Weapon Inertia & Sway Feedback (dev branch)
St. Jimmy replied to solzenicyn's topic in ARMA 3 - DEVELOPMENT BRANCH
Could the horizontal sway be taken out from the weapon inertia simulation? It would be much better if the only gun drags behind the heavier it is. Sometimes with the current system it feels like that but sometimes it's very wrong and the gun sways left and right when you stop the mouse. I'll upload a video later and say when it feels right and when it's wrong. ---------- Post added at 03:35 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:06 PM ---------- Here's a video about what I mean. There you can see that it feels sometimes right but many times wrong. It almost feels like there's a pattern that every now and then it's right so there's one animation that is good and other ones are bad. I can only get one good and then multiple bads and then one good again. -
Veteran mod (VTN) - announcement and WIP
St. Jimmy replied to dead kennedy's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
I really like that there are flash hiders/compressors and zeroing with some iron sights really change visually also. The amount of different AKs and other guns and sights is awesome! This is gun porno with great quality! :P -

Hmm this is getting close for the MANW or does the public get this just later? /Nice teaser. :D -
Mod need to be release to public ?
St. Jimmy replied to malakdecaen's topic in Arma 3 - MAKE ARMA NOT WAR CONTEST - TOTAL MODIFICATION
Well all the entries are downloaded when the deadline ends so if you can't even release even for the judges today then I believe you're out. -
Jurassic Arma - Raptor Pack
St. Jimmy replied to mcruppert's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
Space to jump. F like the fire selector and you see the lower left icon change. You can't attack while you're doing the space jump. -
Could the fire selector sound be bit more louder in first person? Just so we could hear it in the rain.
-
That trailer looks epic! Need to test this someday.

Very nice job! These are freaking crazy! At least with BLUFOR Male Raptor has sunglasses under him. I'm not sure are those profile glasses or why they're there :P -
I agree. That's how it should go.

Will-my-pc-run-Arma3? What cpu/gpu to get? What settings? What system specifications?
St. Jimmy replied to Placebo's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
Can you overclock your CPU? If yes then GPU is the only thing that's left behind. -
That might be little bottleneck sometimes if you've 64-bit system. I can get over 4GB RAM usage when I fly a minute in Altis with minimum programs open. You could see some stuttering happening and fps dropping after playing for some time. The core usage really just depends when you watch it. Sometimes other core is used more and then it switches to the other core so don't stare too much what core is used.
