What I've monitored usage on cores really varies. CPU0 usage naturally has mostly the biggest usage but even that can change for couple of seconds to another core. I can see high usage on every core and thread but not at the same time. Btw your poll has 9 options and I guess there should be 8. Also not all people even have 8 cores/threads so you should make more polls for 4 and 6 that are also very common. I'll post and check some results later. /Alone in the editor driving Hunter around some roads and towns: Average on every core/thread above 20%. Maximum usage per core/thread varies between 65%-94%. Total CPU usage max 65% and average 36%. Minimum what I saw was 25% on total usage. Need to test some multiplayer. I remember before that total CPU usage rarely or not at all gets over 25% but I haven't monitored that for a long time and in a good sessions.

You might want to check rpt files if there's any hint. I haven't heard anyone post big fps drops.

Arma3 and the /LARGEADDRESSAWARE flag (memory allocation > 2GB)

I'm not fred but I can say your session has been perfect. Large pages were allocated in your whole session without any fallbacks. That's a very good thing. -
Arma 3 CPU vs RAM performance comparison 1600-2133= up to 15% FPS gain
St. Jimmy replied to dasa's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
1600MHz 7-8-8-24 1866MHz 8-8-9-24 2133MHz 9-11-10-28 2133MHz 8-10-10-27 Likely the fastest. Those are some fastest factory timings and clocks I could find between 1600-2133MHz. Some low voltage kits coul get close to those if you OC but that's just a camble if you don't know what you're doing. I haven't watched faster MHz and DDR4. Would be interesting to see some DDR3 vs. DDR4 comparsions. -
Getting back into sound modding, need feedback on sounds
St. Jimmy replied to megagoth1702's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
Youtube at 100% and headset at 80% and man those sounds are balanced nicely with the environment so far. The biggest problem for me with JSRS has been that I can't hear the environment (wind, birds, rain etc.) unless I turn up the volume and pray that I don't get deaf if someone shoots. But Lynx sounds lame (like it's shot further away) compared to the rifles. This and JSRS sound both great for me :) -
using large page memory mapping, for increased performance
St. Jimmy replied to fred41's topic in ARMA 3 - DEVELOPMENT BRANCH
Could we get the non logging tbbmalloc? Would be nice to use when I'm already sure that it's working and don't need the logs. -
Opinions, opinions... Exactly the oppisite for me.

L_armFatigue - Because keeping your weapon raised is a bad idea!
St. Jimmy replied to laxemann's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
OK now that I've tested the auto gun down has bug with sprinting. When my arms are tired and I try to run my gun rises randomly and goes down and that makes me to stop. Easy to repro: 1. Tire your arms 2. Start to sprint 3. The gun rises and loweres by itself every second or so that makes any sprinting impossible. This happens likely because in sprinting the gun isn't really lowered but rised so it tires arms. Tested in dev branch but likely the same in stable? -

St. Jimmy replied to laxemann's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
I've to say don't force the gun down (because there's no hip firins in Arma) and no matter how tired your arms are you should be able to at least spray and pray ;) This is my feedback so far and now it's time to download and test this :D Sounds very good idea. I've no idea how I've missed this addon so far. -

Petition to Disqualify Epoch Mod from the MANW Contest
St. Jimmy replied to michaeldcullen's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
Now that I've read more in the Reddit I understand that this is just a case where some server hosters aren't happy that Epoch isn't yet open. If you're that pissed off then just don't try to run the mod and let it be. People just seem to want to get their hands on the source code and do what they want with it. There's nothing really bad in this case and this is just a personal issue. It seems like the real cancer are the "pissed off part of the Epoch community" that are some blacklisted hosters that tried to run with some stuff that wasn't good for helping alpha/beta mod. -

The amount of supporter votes didn't decide anything. About the topic. This just looks like a personal attack. -
Arma 3 CPU vs RAM performance comparison 1600-2133= up to 15% FPS gain
St. Jimmy replied to dasa's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
Well if you watch the second last picture in the first post it shows that 8-8-8-24 1600MHz isn't too far from 9-11-10-31 2133MHz so your improvement shouldn't be too big. Just about 2-3fps. AI will likely always be biggest fps killer no matter what setup you've (unless CPU OC'd maybe at 10GHz could help to get 60 fps with 137 AI :D ). -
Arma 3 CPU vs RAM performance comparison 1600-2133= up to 15% FPS gain
St. Jimmy replied to dasa's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
I've tried to tightening timings but it always fails :( So I can only get what's rated for the RAM (9-11-10-28-2T). I don't know should I try to give it bit more voltage like 1.70V to achieve anything more. I've 1.65V currently. -
This is still the mission that I can't get through and makes me hate the campaign. The AI is just useless. The campaing have too much unrealistic expectations when in reality you're outnumbered a lot.

It's not all about the MHz. It's also about the timings http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?166512-Arma-3-CPU-vs-RAM-performance-comparison-1600-2133-up-to-15-FPS-gain Btw Clawhammer if you want some tweaks to get better performance with tuning settings without losing much I suggest to put Object detail on standard. That has a great impact on fps. You really don't miss those objects when set higher than standard because you'll likely need to zoom to see anything. Terrain and texture detail can be set on Ultra, SMAA or CMAA are better than FXAA IMO and you might not need that much sharpen then but those really depends on per person. ATOC on grass is pretty useless thing but it's a nice thing for trees especially in Chernarus.

St. Jimmy replied to dasa's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
/Oh never mind... There are some nice timing tests also in the OP. So anyone who's going to upgrade their RAMs really need to watch the timings also. Because CL8 1600MHz can be as quick as CL11 2133MHz. So don't be fooled that MHz are the only thing that have effect ;) -
Weapon Inertia & Sway Feedback (dev branch)
St. Jimmy replied to solzenicyn's topic in ARMA 3 - DEVELOPMENT BRANCH
In my opinion logically weapon sway should go like this: When still the weapon sway should be mainly vertical (up and down) following your breath. The more fatigued the more frequent the sway is and holding breath should really slow it down. Changing stances should increase the vertical sway bit. Beign prone there shouldn't be much horizontal sway (left & right) and standing up there should be some. In Arma 3 it goes like this: When still the weapon sway is mainly vertical following your breath. This part is right because the more fatigued the more frequent the vertical sway is. But then comes the holding breath... It stops the vertical sway no matter how fatigued or what stance you're and only leaves the horizontal sway to play with. Holding breath isn't working logically and the sway looks very artificial because of the horizontal sway. Changing that the hold breath only changes the frequency of the vertical sway and doesn't make the aim move more horizontally. About the weapon inertia. I think it's over extragged for basic rifles. MX and other basic rifles shouldn't have that much inertia. Pistol and SMG inertia could be 0 IMO and basic rifles should be much lower but bit higher than SMGs. Inertia is OK penalty for MGs and 50 cals but it's too much for rifles. -
Be sure to upload your entry correctly this time! http://makearmanotwar.com/news/submissions-re-opening#.VHdDCMmGKGE Would be a shame this not make in MANW because this addon is pretty unique thing.

Good. 50fps sounds like what you really should get at least with your system

I could likely go higher bit higher. I haven't even tested what's the limit :D 2133MHz CL9-11-10-28 @Clawhammer You should check your motherboard and BIOS if it allows stable clocks so it doesn't change between 4199 and 4399 etc. but it remains at 4399 or 4199 or whatever you like it to be constant when it's doing something. My clocks changes only between 4700 and 1600 and 1600 means basically I'm on a desktop and not gaming. And forteh asked a good question. Have you checked that your RAM is actually running at 2400MHz and not lower? You need to set manually on that 2400MHz or otherwise it's running much lower. Going from 1600MHz -> 2400MHz should give at least 5fps or even more.

We have had some private discussion with Clawhammer. Here's my specs: Intel Core i7 2600K @ 4,7GHz Asus P8Z68-V LX 8GB (2x 4096MB) G.Skill RipjawsX DDR3-2133 DIMM CL9-11-10-28 Asus Geforce GTX 680 2GB Samsung 540 SSD 250GB for OS and Arma. Windows 7 x64 And I get result of 60fps with the same graphics settings that are in those pictures. So that's 21fps difference between us. I've bit more clocks on my CPU but that doesn't explain the difference. I've tried to help as much as I could but I'm starting to be out of ideas. If anyone with the same motherboard and CPU can help him out to know if there are any tricks with those? He should get much better performance with that rig.

Well I was expecting no DayZ SA or Arma 3 related and something shooted from above or play as a zombie. The game isn't easy and it's more hardcore than DayZ :D
-
Hmmm weird because your performance shouldn't be that far from my own. Maybe you've some power savings on in your BIOS or something? Or could SSD and some CPU OC really make that big difference between us... In Arma 3 Altis bench mission I got 63fps and that's a HUGE difference between us if we're talking about the same mission.
