i don't get Your comments ...the engine uses Geometry Instancing heavily
disabling that would cause unforseen consequences ...
yes the simple problem is wine or the linux opengl drivers can not handle the "Geometry Instancing" right ...

i retest it on wine 1.3.8 and catalyst 10.10 and arma2 1.08:

Myke;1793890']Since ArmA 2/OA isn't meant to be played on Linux/Wine' date=' the non-functionality can't be considered as bug.And it is not about "right or wrong", it is about worth or not. Although i would welcome a OpenGL/Linux variant, there are other more important things to fix/add.[/quote']
i know that.
my hope is just that wine/codewavers fix that
i just ad a bug report to the amd driver dev's :

Myke;1793537']Hmmm...so that ArmA 2 is not working on a OS that it is not meant to be runned with is a BIS problem? I don't think so' date=' Tim.[/quote']is it wrong to support more os than XP/7 ?
i just try to run arma2 on linux thats all..

i test OA to on patchlevel 1.50 same problem.

i found the source of the bug...
if i use a tool in windows to activate "Geometrie Instancing" arma2 in windows shows the same graphic errors than in linux/wine!
arma2 need's to stop using "Geometrie Instancing" and then arma2 works fine!
the driver's or ArmA2 can not handle "Geometrie Instancing" right.. thats the bug!

Well, the menu is so far the only thing that´s correct in your screenshot:eek:watch the image it isn't windows and it isn't direct X ;-)
wine translate arma2 into Open-GL and makes it compatible to Linux.
the upgrade from 1.05 to 1.07 shows me Arma2 1.07 fixes some 'bugs'
means wine isn't always wrong.

It seems like a compatibility issue with wines handling of the drivers. Unfortunately like most games, arma 2 isn't fully supported by wine or any Linux based API, but if you mention it on the wine forums you may get a fix for itarma2 is just not supportet because of this bug:
http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=21253
and upgrade from 1.05 to 1.07 shows me its a arma2 bug.
and yes they fixed a lot of arma2 'bug's in the past:

arma2 1.05:

Arma2 1.07

on 1.07 the menu is correct now!
Wine 1.2rc6 can handle games like arma2 but not 'bug' in arma2!
.05 to .07 shows its a arma2 not wine bug
