  1. Yes, we've not got anything about RR to actually talk about because the dev team ain't telling us anything good to say, So we're openly discussing the things happening whilst we wait. You didn't have to look at this thread. Theres no need to come here and ruin our little bit of fun.

    Yeah, So, What does it matter to you? If we end up talking about X and Y member, who cares. This thread has been full of X and Y member chats, about Templar and Sion and others.

    Whys it so important to you, thats the question..

    Yeah to be honest all that will be said in this thread is the same thing that will be said 1,000 times. All along the lines of they're going mainstream, there getting rid of all user editors so that all content must be bought off them as DLC turning into a quick profit rather than a worthwhile game. So why not laugh at what's left of the OFP community and the brilliant ideas they come up with for realism?

    Cheers I downloaded those too, really good but I quite like the BAF units. I think they're really well done.

    @da12thMonkey. Cheers I've figured out what it is. It looks like when you zoom in on the iron sight when your lying down the camera moves to you shoulder and the camel back that most units wear has a strap that gets in the way. I tested it with a BAF unit that wasn't wearing one and it worked fine.

    try stalker's mtp units, they're at least as good as the BAF and in some places more up to date.

    Thinking of brits Is there any way to make the brit voices used by BAF selectable? Be kinda nice to use some of them for other units too.

    Yeah I've downloaded those too and they are good but I think it would be cool to have the BAF units with it too.


  4. What is reallllly annoying is that i could create some really stunning effects using .sqf methods and other scripts. Only problem is the more scripts being run causes some massive power drains on performance. :(

    Could always release two versions for high end and low end PC's if you really wanted to make one of them look that much better.


  5. Voiceover is connected to your faction, i.e. you get a british one if you are playing BAF, american one for USMC and so on. There are four british voiceovers, fifth is just the same as Frost's.

    // edit: Its not faction, but character identity, but that should be mainly the same.

    Yeah i had ago in the editor and noticed that now, but is there anyway to test out which 1 you want to have like you can with the american voices?


  6. Okay lets look at it from a different angle. BIS has made this DLC a lot quicker than OA but has what sounds like a little less content but a lot less price wise. We know the campaign is going to be an extention of OA with a new faction so its not random. But maybe BIS will make the same amount of products over the next year, that add up to the same price as OA was. This means that the content would be coming in smaller chunks but there wouldn't be such a big gap between releases and makes the arma 2 story line seem like its happening as time passes in the real world. I think this is a better way of BIS releasing new stuff actually because it'll keep more people interested and as long as BIS dont go overboard and release 8 packs in 1 year it'll be about the same price.

    How many Guys from the Modder-Community are or have been working for Bohemia Interactive?

    You still wouldn't have all the free addons from the community if it weren't for BIS releasing the tools for free. BIS cant go on working on this game, the only game they make really, without either making a new version of the game each year which no one wants or making DLC for a reasonable price that fits into the current game. Companies dont run on dreams...

    *Support New BIS-Strategy :

    - Patches ( like here for the Engine) have to be paid in the Future

    - Release a Game "Soon as Possible" [( Without Casualties ( BUGS ))]

    - They couldnt release the UK-Addon with OA Release...

    Why they didnt release the StandaloneAddon 2 Month later,

    and increase the Price for about 4 Bucks? (*not for 9 Euros)

    * Yes the DVD is expensive as Hell ( the Box for sure too )

    Now i will not buy it and support that kind of Moneymaking! Point Flash is close for me...

    I play the Bohemia Series since it started 2001 and i have to realize that the Company earned 2 much Money from the Army for VBS etc (please correct me if i am wrong)

    I feel like a Puppet, and BIS is my Master...

    There are alot of great UK Adddons made by the Community, i m using those, cause those Modders are lookin to get Bugs out of their Addons :yay:

    Are you kidding? lol compare BIS to all other game companies and how they make games. Each year they bring out a new one with little improvement with maybe some new guns, units and a four hour campaign. BIS has probably made a longer campaign for this with new units, vehicles and they are only charging £8 for something other game companies would charge £40 for. To be honest everyone in this community owes bis for releasing the modding tools for free. Maybe instead of releasing DLC maybe BIS should have charged for the modding tools instead to make the money they need to continue making this game series and fixing the bugs. This game has the most support from its developers i have seen with any game...


  9. As for this DLC's campaign. What do you actually expect? OA has 6 missions that can be completed in one or two evenings. It took a year to develop and costed the price of a full game.

    This won't be anything bigger than Eagle Wings. The "campaign", while fun, was extremely short - two missions only, no more than 2 - 2.5 hours of gameplay.

    Maybe BIS held off on releasing it so there would be more value in the original arma 2... I'm sure they could have created more than 6 missions in that time and also now that the main bugs are fixed with the game they can start focusing on extra content more. The first half of the year after arma 2 was released was probably completely focussed on getting it working properly.

    I wouldn't have thought that that would be a significant enough reason to not include one though, seeing as the forums have not seen any (or at least, many) rants about T90 vs. M1 comparisons. I reckon time would probably be the bigger aspect of the decision, if they want to make the model to the usual BIS standard then it would take a fair amount of time.

    But hey, as MontyVCB said, we've not seen an official complete list yet, so there may be a Chally included yet. :D

    Yeah, we only have the Abrams... That is, if you ignore the T-90, T-72 and now the T-55 (I'll discount the T-34 for obvious reasons).

    Ahh but everyone can settle which is better the T-90 or the m1 abrams by putting them up against each other in game but with the challenger we'd have the same problem as in real life... we're on the same side :p lol
