Anyone get anything like that?on my system att works great, downloaded some weeks ago from this link, too. my antivirus is "antivir" by www.avira.com - a virus report via att is unknown to me.
-
Thanks guys can you oce the 5900 series with ATT using voltage tweak?ain't no overclocker, but I think that att provides some oc-features ... but which one exactly ... hmmm, dunno (I own a 4870 /512)
-
XP, in the CCC, Win7 and Vista you need a 3rd party tool.I use "Ati Tray Tools" by Ray Adams and don't have CCC installed, imo ATT is more powerful than CCC (it comes with OSD Framemeter and hotkeys, for example for screenshots)
I have a ati gpu is there a way to turn off Vsync?Ati Tray Tools will do that for you

By default the game now uses exThreads=7 with a quad-core processor.Good information, so everyone with a quad-core should get bests results by setting no exThread-parameter at all (if his/her tests with -exThreads=7 have beaten the other parameters, of course).
For me this is the case and so I removed -exThreads=N from command line - having same results as with -exThreads=7.

about "mindless robots"AI developments are great and good but they still have a long way until they will act like humans. There is no need to reduce or dumb down controls over AI - only for the sake of having somekind of an faked "human touch".
Imho the overriding AI option should work with existing AI mode - as additional control to get over some annoying AI issues.
This could become an almost philosophical discussion ;) I like that.
I dunno how many of us have ever been in a real war as soldier (hopefully not so many, of course) ... luckily I've never been to war, all of my real experience as soldier comes by serving 12months in the German Bundeswehr, early nineties when I was around 20years old (damn, am I old but so what ;) ) I remember when we went for a simulated infantry combat "blue country" vs "green country" - therefore we had laserpointers mounted on our G3's and everyone was wearing sensors on chest, back and on the helmet ...
I remember, too - and that's my bridge to topic - that somehow everyone of us was kind of "alone on his own", the group wasn't a group anymore after 10 seconds of shooting our blank cartridges, some simulated grenades had exploded and there was a little (in fact just a very little of course) feeling of "how it could be" --> I guess a soldier will follow his orders (as a "robot") until a certain point when combat becomes too intense and everything turns diffuse and bizarre, and then it's time for his own survival instinct to take command ...
So:
You're right Big Dawg, they shouldn't. I like the way AI acts atm because imo it's closer to reality than 100% obeying orders in combat situations (which can be suicide, btw) -- that's why it's ok that for example the team looks/turns 3 times around before it gets "into the car", before it moves "to that tree" and so on ... (I don't wanna have a button "get your ass out of here at any costs", because not everyone would do in real, I guess)Why should AI act like mindless robots?I got overall better fps with this build without using parameters.Yep, me too. Especially the frame drops become more and more rare :)

Mate it works perfectly fine Better get more users on six-update rsync (~7 MB download per beta update, instead of ~30 ), especially the official BI mirror should be ignored as much as possible; sometimes I wonder if the forum will return from another black-out by beta-download:) thinking so, too ... on my 2 x hdd dual boot rig I've several times copied the /beta-folder from one hdd to another (from xp to vista if I was too lazy too install for a 2nd time) after just having deleted the old /beta --> for me it has always worked out that way.
-
here you go, try it as an alternative (zipped from beta-folder made by six-updater)
http://rapidshare.com/files/396366833/beta.zip.html
EDIT: just read, that rapidshare download is (if it's not a collector's account)
limited to 10 downloads, perhaps someone could host it to an unlimited site
EDIT2:
!!!!! IMPORTANT !!!!!
there's no "install.exe" in this package, it's the via rsync installed /beta-Folder out of /ArmA2/-Inst-Folder. Maybe won't work for others - sorry, didn't know that. Maybe someone can host the "install.exe" ?
-
Alex, uploading @rapidshare ... at incredible high 78kb/sec :(
link to be followed, hope so
EDIT: must be the net complete, indeed
-
the whole i-net seems to be slow atm ;)
even jumping between the forums/posts here seems to take longer than usual, my email-service on web.de is crawling on the floor, too.
must be all the Arma2-Players worldwide (not to mention the players from foreign galaxies :D) that are pulling the new stuff at the same time !
back to serious: I just updated via six-updater-suite and download time here was fair.
BIS relation to its community is the best in the world :)yes, it is - thank you BIS
-
checked, works fine
just tested:
recognized that player must not crawl too close to the mg itself (underneath the camo net): when player's outside next to the net or a little away from mg (when he's under the net), the "enter static defense"-option appears by "enter" / "mouse wheel", too :)
(windows-key-method works always)
-
I've searched the key bindings of ace2 but have not found there nor ingame how to use the mg in a static defense as player (please don't answer 'omg', I know it's a newbie question :o) )
I'm able to order a subordinate into a s.d. and make him use the mg but me as player when I crawl under the camouflage net next to the mg, get up into crouch position I see the mg closest to me ... and now ? "enter" or "mouse wheel" won't both give me any option to grab the mg for myself ... ?

I can confirm that the Boot Camp missions are fixed in this build.I can confirm that, too
referring to http://forums.bistudio.com/showpost.php?p=1642694&postcount=26
here's the link to the dump-files - hope these are the right ones ;)

CTD while testing ingame playing SP (Harvest Red/Badlands) after about 1 hour of playing
parameters I've used here: -mod=beta -exThreads=3 -nosplash -world=empty -maxmem=2047
maybe maxmem's the cause ?
ingame settings while playing: vd=3848, 3dres 1280x1024 (100%), terrain low, shadows normal, aa normal, pp high, vidmem default, rest very high
-
some results from my side
in game settings for BM City Run / Arma2 FPS Analyser:
all @very high except vd=3848, AA=high, 3dres=1280x1024 (100%)
71213@exThreads3 does for my rig the best related to FPS (best average fps, fewest lower fps, most higher fps), so I can put into that simple formula ('>' means 'more fps than'):
------
71213@exThreads3 > 70951@exThreads3 > 71213@exThreads7 > 71141@exThreads3 > 71141@exThreads7
------
I'm glad that the newest build is actual the best for my old system, too and that 70951/71141 has been taken over by 71213 :)
-
thx for tip, sickboy
just when I read your post I wanted to edit mine for "yes, ok now" :)
my way was logging out, closing six-updater and restarting all again ...
(your tip is smarter, I admit ! for next time I know better, now)
all entries and installations are updated ;)
-
thx for update, but was that mean in browser:
"@ACEX_SM 42 40" ? newest version of acex_sm (40) is older than the one on my machine (42) ?
-
my results in a short formula ('>' = 'more fps than'):
(in game settings for BM/Arma2 FPS Analyser: all @very high except vd=3848, AA=high => these settings are just for testing, for gaming it's no fun with these and with my rig)
70951@exThreads3 > 71141@exThreads3 > 71141@exThreads7
so related to FPS build 70951 holds best benefits for my system
I guess especially my CPU (->spoiler down below) is too slow and can't keep up with the progresses the new 71141-build has made
-
No, its not only on his end. Check out Link to bug.so, I've checked this out for me @71141, too and: prob's on my end, too ;) : no training missions to select, selection menue totally blank
-
First, this is an English forum, meaning the only acceptable language to post in is Engish.thx for reminding us of that
det99 (you're welcome to the forum !) was asking very polite for translation, and that's what MadDogX did, very friendly both of them.
@Big Dawg KS: those comments should come from our moderators, and if it's necessary they'll do so.
I can confirm that this is not an issue for me with 70951, and I haven't tried 71141 but I doubt it will change anything. So yea it must be something strange on his end.strange implication: there's a problem which you don't have and so you think it can't be a problem for anyone else ?
No, its not only on his end. Check out Link to bug
http://dev-heaven.net/issues/10884.
thx for that, Nikoladis
No. For dual-core default is set for -exthreads=0.I guess, for quads default is set for -exthreads=0, too
did some testing: arma2 @71141 -exThreads=7 stable, but first benchmark (ArmA2 FPS analyser) lower than betas before (-exThreads=3), will test more of course with all possible -exThreads-parameters and in-game-testing is to be followed soon, too.
-
... yes ! just took "no problems at all"-vote to 8
i think that's fair because of having no other choice than to praise ArmA 2 for it is a challenging game, indeed, SP or MP same fun for me.
people often see what they want to see - is it a bug ? is it a challenging path in the storyline ?? is it logical ??? is it f...g great designed ????
so look outside your window and you'll see a world that isn't perfect (as in ArmA 2), there are strange things happening (as in ArmA 2), nothing's linear, you have the freedom of choice (as in ArmA 2), sometimes you get stuck in life (as in ArmA 2 ;) ) but sometimes you can feel the holy flow (as in ArmA 2), you can die (as in ArmA 2), you can survive (as in ArmA 2), you can laugh (as in ArmA 2), you can feel the pain and be sick of it all (as in ArmA 2) ...
so welcome to the (actual) best PC Game (on planet Earth, at least)

out of myh tower.its a crackling sound like electricity, really really disconcerting tbh.
If I was you I would consult the one who build your rig. That doesn't sound good for me and 70 degrees celsius isn't too high temperatur imo.
do you use 10.4 or 10.4a (hotfix) Catalyst?atm I use 10.4. should I go for 10.4a ?
edit: 10.4a was the preview of 10.4, right ? so 10.4 should be newer than 10.4a. for me 10.4 gives better results than 10.5 or the leaked 10.6beta2.
which driver do you use, domokun ?
-
while playing arma 2 there is a distinct crackling noise coming from the PCso the sound comes out of your pc tower or out of your loudspeakers/headphones ? hmmm, never heard of crashing hardware caused by using ccc or att - do you overclock ?
ArmA2 is intense reading from harddrive, perhaps this is the noise you hear ?
are you playing vanilla / beta / mods ?
don't get me wrong, but I think in your case one has to ask any questions, even if they may sound weird ;)
same apply for 10.6 rc3 betas (2nd 10.6 beta), note: they leaked only for wXP platformI just checked the 10.6beta version I had installed today (before uninstalling and installing 10.4 again) - it was the second one:
"ati_catalyst_10.6beta2-xp(www.station-drivers.com).exe"
-
yes, very strange
Dwarden, do you think that using ATT instead of CCC may influence performance in a bad way ? All I know about ATT is that it is at least equivalent to CCC concerning getting the best out of the ATI-Cards, if not even better (same settings each, of course).
hmm, I think I'll wait until 10.6 final and will test then again, until then I'll let 10.4 do the job
-
wtfyes, I agree with you totally ;)
atm the new ATI drivers are poison for ArmA2
tested today 10.5 & 10.6beta - both of them less of quality and performance than 10.4
my tests fit into this simple formula:
"10.4(final) > 10.5(without hotfix) > 10.6beta"
in words:
BIS makes 2 steps forward with every new beta and ATI pushes these gains 3 steps behind.
btw: I don't use CCC because of various reasons (RAM usage, interface, features). Instead I use Ati Tray Tools:

A.C.E. 2 - v1.2 stable (Advanced Combat Environment)

thinking so, too
friday's supposed to be the weekly scheduled day for an ace-update
