31st NORMANDY MOD - WW2 Â -BETA RELEASE
canis lupus replied to rip31st's topic in ARMA - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
it's not always easy being new in this arround all the more experienced people and people demand much when it comes to ww2 stuff... however we do get a lot of help from the ones with experince and it would be a lot harder without them. I didn't really notice your name at first Gavin but actually its your units from ofp that got me started on ww2 units for arma I used your german helmet as a blueprint to make my own I would have given up if I hadn't done that I think... here's a little progress I'm done with garand and carbine riflemen now and there will be regular and d-day versions of all models -

In the last picture lighting is part of it but the smock does look a bit strange but I made it from a very bad picture because I didn't have much time on the internet to find now that I'm back online I'll try to improve it but I'm having a hard time finding anything usefull so if anyone could help it would be very nice I also need to find some pictures of the ranking symbols on the paratroopers couldn't find any pictures of officers. -

whenever I make my own normal map for my units I get a wierd shading problem. all I know is that it occurs when I make the normal maps but I can't figure out why here's a screenshot of how it looks
-
I got the idea for these from watching Generation Kill and I thought we could use some units from the early iraq war. they lack some accurate equipment but I'm having a hard time finding a good picture to work with but hopefully I'll find one and update them at some point. http://rapidshare.com/files/136020523/marines.rar.html

for some reason it doesn't help with the 1.08 patch but I changed the Arma.cfg and it did the trick thans alot -
well we simply can't all work together in one big project it would be totally out of controle and the standards would be to different take my work for an example and put it in the same pack as the I44 my units would look really bad next to them. at some point we do work together I got tons of usefull feedback from people with their own ww2 projects
-
MahMan I'm happy to get any feedback and you have been more than helpfull I'll try to ajust the belt again
-
just a small update I added some details to the webbing and got the shirt tugged in
-
don't worry I took no offense from anyone the critisism was just a little more overwhelming than expected but also very usefull I just need more time on it thats all. you'll be happy to know that the shirt has been tugged in, I'm no good with the UV map thing so it looks kinde odd right now but I'm hoping to get that settled.
-
thanks for all the constructive critisism everyone its all very usefull but please remember that I only just started working on them today its nothing more than a couple of hours work. MehMan you are more than welcome to send me any reference you got since I'm having a hard time finding anything usefull
-
thank you very much just perfect am I going the right way
-
better? I still need a picture of the webbing color before I can make any changes to that
-
it would help if I could find some color pictures of the men in their webbing so far this is the only one I got
-
okay here's my first attempt on some British troops
-
yes thats what I ment. thanks tomahawk I think I'll go with the 5th army, if anyone thinks it needs to be something else let me know
-
I really need to know what patches I need to put on the arms
-
I need a little help with finding good pictures of British troops, (not paratroopers) especially their equipment
