How do I check whether the copy protection that screws up your aim etc. is enabled? I'm using a legal copy but I get the feeling my aim is being severely messed with.
I'm playing the first sniper mission (the one on the water tower) and about 10% of my shots hit and even when they do they seem to do hardly any damage. It typically takes 3 or more shots to kill a guy and I've shot people in the face and they've kept coming.
I don't just have crappy aim. I've played a lot of Operation Flashpoint and so I know about adjusting for bullet drop etc. I did all the training missions fine but when I got to the actual game the above happened.

I should have mentioned that this is even on the easiest difficulty and with "auto aim" enabled.
