  1. Yeah, still bypasses. In that test mission I saw how the helicopter unloaded the troops then flew off to that town, but didn't see HOW it did with no waypoint, or anything.

As for that, I used the helicopter in the northern part of Utes for my own test, Let me show you...

Blue circle represents your RAPPEL waypoint

Red Circle represents where I want it to go next.

Here is a in-depth look of the blue circle I circled the Waypoint order, the Rappel is Move1, while at the bottom of the script, it specefies Move1. This is the issue, what next?

Finally, this is my red Circle at the top you see I circled Move2, in your script it only specefies Move1, so if I play like this, it just completely bypasses Move1.

  2. Hello Norrin, not sure if you remember or not, but got another Q for ya.

Why is it, that after the "Rappel" waypoint, you can't place another waypoint? Like, if I wanted the Helicopter to rappel, then head back to base.

Everytime I try to put a move waypoint or whatnot after the rappel waypoint, the helicopter completely bypasses it and goes straight to that move destination which annoys me frankly since I don't want the helicopter to remain immobile in the air after dropping off troops.

  3. Excellent thank you! The purpose of this was to use it for the Rappeling script that someone made, it's all working great now, however I've noticed on heavily dense maps full of units and scripts (lag?) it dosen't work very well if not at all.

Edit: Looks like helicopter, if given another waypoint past the "Rappel" one, refuses to unload troops, and flies past it. Hmmm

  4. Well because to transport the troops there, they have to be linked to the helicopter as one primary group and also set to "In Cargo" status. No? (I soppose I am inexperienced at the editor)

EDIT: Actually, I was researching some stuff and it looks like to me it would work,

One helicopter, flies to location, drops off units. (It's own group with it's own name)

Squad of marines grouped seperately, but using the command this moveInCargo <helicopter name here> with their own waypoints are the chopper sets down.

    Hopefully that works.

  5. Basically, let's say I have a helicopter with a group of Marines in cargo. The helicopter is leader out of all of them.

I want the helicopter to fly over this city, drop the marines off. Then head back to base.

Essentialy, I want one of the marines to become leader so that I can have him command that squad and move around the city, while the helicopter seperates from the group, becomes it's own unit and heads back to anywhere I want it to go.

    Thank you for your time.

  6. True, I have the STEAM version and had to install 1.05 manually. I don't have a issue with it personally but the majority do, since after all---Why buy it off STEAM if the patches aren't going to be rolled out automaticly for them too?

    I love this game, deeply.

Take 1.05, put it out on STEAM offically, and sell it for 50% for a week. Demo alone, has enough content to make anyone buy it.

I think the reasons why ARMA 2 isn't bigger is firstly, I don't think the majority of gamers have a computer that can properly run it to their standards. (Luckily I got a new PC back in September)

Release was very buggy and unpolished. That has been fixed now, but the damage already done.

As others have noted, I saw very little promotion of the game.

To conclude, ARMA 2 is a must-have game in my opinion if you can run it. I haven't had this much fun with a game since the Novalogic days or even the HL2 years. Can't wait for the expansion.

  7. Using an custom island that I've done a mission on previously, I was making an D-day scenario, but for some reason it won't let me switch between units.

Of course I have many of them set to Playable but hitting T to see a list of units to switch between it shows none, just the one that I'm using at that current moment.

It's the only mission it happens on and I've checked triggers, or any options in the map to see what the issue could be but can't find anything.

  8. Yes I didn't actually mean using the Safezone trigger, that was just my name for the region :) I think a one time spawn would work, do you have any more information on this?

The threads here and on Armaholic don't yield much information about triggers and at that there isn't much detailed knowledge for ARMA 2.

Also thanks Mini, I will for sure use that.

  9. Hi, I've started to get serious about implementing triggers into my mission so naturally I'm doing all I can to learn more about them.

I'm trying to create a mission at the moment where there is a U.S Safezone, but if one zombie manages to reach the center of town it will spawn about 40-60 zeds (or perhaps activate the spawn module?) that will overwhelm the safezone. Basically causing humans to lose.

How would I go by implementing this? Thank you

  10. Hello all, just got a new monitor a few hours ago and go into ARMA to configure my new settings and see how it would look like, well everytime I play everything looks all out of wack, like a helicopter had this shiny, fuzzy silver stuff on it, everything didn't pre-render, so when i would look at one part of the map it would render, while everything behind me would mesh or just fade out.

1920/1080 is the monitor resolution, I set both the ingame resolution to that along with the 3D resolution.

Only game it does this on. I will try to get a screenshot later, but everytime I attempt to do one, it takes a pic of the desktop instead. I've tried taking a screenshot using arma launcher to start the game and using the regular STEAM system. For some reason it only takes a screenshot of the desktop, bleh.

  11. Could be lag compensation, considering I like to push it to max before my PC starts chopping (:

I like the radio chatter you put in, it gives it a sense of immersion, perhaps in a future update you could add more? Maybe even actual sound and not text that would be great. (If possible I could hunt for some for you to use)

    "We're being overrun!"

    "There's too many of them!"

More of that in the radio chatter would increase immersion along with a generic model for custom NPCs would make a great update in the future.

Sidenote; My paralyzing bug issue seems to only happen on Island Dula for some odd reason :\

  12. So only ONE module needs to be used and that covers the whole map then?

Also I can vouche for the "invisible attacks" since, I've been observing a horde in a town from far away only to get killed from attacks coming from nowhere. Has happened occasionaly when being on the roof of a building and sorrounded as well.
