    Swedish Army Mod

Are you sure this is a map bug? There was a new feature added (patch 1.5 I think), where people far away who are hidden in the grass (which is not visible at that distance) will appear to sink down into the ground and disappear to stop you from seeing them when you should not be able to. Anyway, using Stridsbåt 90 on Panthera would be nice, that island has a river running quite far through it and some islands along the coast. Not to mention it's undoubtedly the most beautiful map around.
  3. Seems to be just random smoke, I have never found anything near it. It looks strange when you're out on the water and smoke suddenly rises up from somewhere beneath the waves.
  4. First, is the game off? Otherwise, turn it off first. If that's not it, it could be a Vista or Windows 7 problem. I use XP myself so I don't know the details, but you might have to be an administrator or something to have permission to save the file.
  5. Ok, the WP grenade problem was due to a conflict with AAW, the Australian weapons mod. This apparently interferes with the ACE grenades. So if anyone is using that and can't use ACE grenades, you know why. It's going to get fixed in the next AAW update.
  6. Though a lot of files seems to get deleted, I don't think the updater makes a complete new download of everything every time, does it? Updating for me takes only a few minutes, but when I once deleted all of ACE and reinstalled it, that took something like at least 20 minutes.
  7. Thanks, but I think that's the one I've never really got either. Some of the others you need to stand exactly right to see, but this one seems totally hidden.
  8. Has this been fixed? I have WP grenades in my inventory but can't cycle to them, though smoke and normal frag grenades works.
  9. Ok, maybe the problem is that I used only 1 tank against an infantry squad, not a lot of troops vastly outnumbering the enemy. But I still think that the last man should flee when facing my tank without AT weapons and everyone else in his squad is dead. But he keeps firing uselessly at the tank with his rifle rather than surrender. I'll try putting some more friendly troops in.
  10. It's a lot quicker and easier to use the ready made thing in the armory than building your own kill house in the editor. And more useful too since you don't know the exact placement of all targets as you do if you place them yourself. It may be used mostly by newcomers, but does that mean that problems with the armory should just be ignored? I've noticed the same thing myself, it's almost impossible to finish the kill house challenge because some targets can not be seen.
  11. I can't get the surrender module to work. I'm using a tank blasting an enemy infantry squad. They always fight to the last man, continuing to fire on my tank with assault rifles and even handguns, never running away or surrendering. I just placed the module on the map in the editor, as there is no synchronization needed, or is it? What am I doing wrong?
  12. Well, some people do... http://defensetech.org/2010/01/29/bayonets-hit-the-mark/ :omg: I think it would be nice if ACE could at least add bayonets.
  13. The weapons need to be ACE compatible. If they're not, you could ask whoever made them to fix it.
  14. That would be nice, but as has been discussed before there is no feature in ArmA 2 that can be used to force the player to slow down and be unable to run but still walk. The only thing available is the "fall down and cannot walk any more" thing that happens when you are wounded in the legs. That's why this is used for the ACE stamina system.
  15. Ok, that information will be useful for the ACE team if they're going to tweak the stamina system.
  16. First, remember that the weight shown on the gear screen is not the total weight you carry. It's just the stuff that you can see in the inventory. You need to add maybe 15-20 kilos for clothes, helmet, vest, body armor etc. In the game you can jog (not sprint) for about those distances you mentioned with 30-35 kg showing on the gear screen (about 50 kg total). Sounds like you have to be really tough to do the same with 80 kg.
  17. If you can only run 50 meters with an M4 + 8 magazines something's wrong.
  18. And what does a bunch of stuff on Armaholic got to do with Moosed's complaint that this thread is dissapointing because it has a ton of pages and almost no official content?
  19. Ok, thanks for the info. No problem, I will just stick to the red dot sight then. I think using the 1.5 optics is too awkward the way it is now. Thanks again for your great work!
  20. Ok, that's what I suspected. But as it is now, you get about the same zoom level if you use the red dot sight and hold right mouse button and when you use the 1.5 optics (which are fixed and cannot be zoomed in any more). Have you considered using the unzoomed view for the 1.5 optics to make them more useful for CQB? Yes, it would be inaccurate to just have a 1 x normal zoom, but the extra RMB-zoom could be considered to make up for that, right? I think there is more loss of realism as it is now (with a totally obscured view through the 1.5 optics) than what that solution would be. Just a suggestion, make of it what you will. And thanks for a great addon, I love getting a chance to use one of my favourite weapons, the Steyr AUG, and very nice also to get the Swedish Carl Gustav AT launcher.
  21. But if they were using the red dot, open view, did the image in the scope have 1.5 times zoom then, or no zoom at all like the red dot view? The point is to use an open, unobstructed view and still get the 1.5 times zoom in the scope. But I suspect this can not be done. On the other hand, you can zoom the red dot view in with right mouse button, but not the 1.5 times scope as it is now. So maybe using that zoom could be considered having a 1.5 zoom, then you could use the red dot view with the reticle from the 1.5 times scope.
  22. No, it's been replaced by the AT4. EDIT: It's too bad the regular version of the AUG (with 1.5 times zoom) can not be modelled correctly. It's supposed to be used with both eyes open, right? So the view should be like the "aimpoint view" only with the image on the scope zoomed in a bit. Now, the surroundings are completely obscured when using the scope, making this weapon quite useless at close ranges (and forcing you to use the CQB sights instead). But I'm sure this is an ArmA 2 problem (it's probably not possible to both use zoom in the scope and see the surroundings), and that it cannot be fixed in an addon.
  23. I never said it is pointless setting up a camp in real life, just that I can't see the reason for bringing along a tent in the game just to keep your stuff in when you want to leave it somewhere. You don't sleep or need protection from the elements in the game, which is why you'd bring a tent in RL. But that's just my opinion, you've already had a few positive responses in this thread, so just submit the suggestion if you want to. If you have a problem registering on Devheaven or have another problem you might try to get some help here if you give the details of your problem.
  24. Oh, I have never played with AI and human teammates online. It's either with AI in single player or with teammates against AI online on our server. For SP I prefer to have radio sounds on so I don't miss any incoming messages.
