It's how we all feel, but I don't want to pressure him, since I know we are getting a quality product for free. I mean this is going to be a whole new game using the same engine!

6) is there a max number of zombies possible, or can there be infinite?Think about this question very carefully bdd.
Well, I have seen this happen in movies about zombies. In Shawn of the dead, Shawn lures the undead horde away from his friends and family when they are trying to gain access to the Winchester. I do agree that there should be something in place to prevent a exploit, but then again the Zombie hordes are known to be very dull (intelligence wise)True.

maybe the zeds should know about everyone on the map. then they would hunt the closest target. so you wouldnt be save in a hut away from anything else anymore.Say you have a few troops, all you do is glitch out the proposed system by putting one guy on a tower in the middle of the city, hang back on the outskirts, and wait until they mob the tower, then just walk in and pick em' all off from a safe distance while they mill about, focused on the one guy that's closest to them in the tower. Can I get a yahoo? I didn't think so.
It makes more sense that they tear off after any threat that they are able to see and reach. Hmmm, wait a sec... Charon, can they climb?
Say I am doing a sweep through a village/town/city and suddenly I am faced in the distance with a horde, if I leg it out of there, double back and around them without being spotted, I think its fair that I managed to do so.My thoughts exaclty. "You can run but you can't hide forever" is perfectly reasonable; "you can run but you can't hide AT ALL" is perfectly ridiculous. Anything less would get tiresome very quickly, IMHO.
I guess it all depends on what sort of zeds were talking about, I for one am more in favor of rage virus zombies than undead,How can you choose?! I can't choose!
and thus to be it is less about smell, and more about sound/visual.Bears and T-rex can smell anything anywhere. Dogs can smell some stuff somewhere. People can barely smell anything anywhere. Undead people... all they can smell is their own putrid stench, I would figure.

My question about
:Can the script be activated/deactivated by a trigger?
For example:
Condition: Count thislist >= 35
On Act: Gate lock false
Thirty five zombies press up against the door, and it will not hold any longer. Provides incentive to be quick about dispatching the incoming undead.
Will that work?

Nobody?
EDIT: ...It's always the most obvious solution, isn't it... Place unit, press F4, double click directly over the unit when it's name is displayed.
No wonder I didn't get any answers, it would seem to be pretty obvious after the fact.
In any case, consider my forehead slapped!
-
Well now that I have that part figured out (how to edit the unit with the allocated waypoint attached to it), how do I go about creating an allocated waypoint in the first place?
Thanks.

I've already done a few Google searches, but can't find anything close to an answer on this:
I have downloaded some chopper extraction/insertion demos, which are quite excellent, and for my lack of knowledge I had decided to simply copy and paste the work that was already done into my own missions, editing as needed.
Here is the scenario: A pilot is activated by a trigger to get into an empty chopper. The problem is that the chopper seems to be non-selectable; that is, I put the mouse over it and the only thing I can grab is the waypoint, but I can't even move it around, unless I click and drag to select the waypoint and the unit itself. But even then I cannot edit the unit to make it into a different chopper (the one in the mission is too small - I want the MH53).
I have noticed on occasion that in some of my other missions, the waypoint will seem to become fused to the unit in the same way. My questions are these:
Is such fusion necessary for the correct functioning of the extraction, or what is its purpose? Is it a glitch? If not, then how do I fuse and un-fuse the waypoint to a unit?
If anyone can help, I'd be most appreciative. Thanks.
EDIT: Sorry to waste everyone's time. I don't know why I didn't think to check Mr. Murray's guide. Allocated waypoints! Press shift and double click... sweet!

Thanks for the reply. Actually I'm on XP (heard nothing but horror stories about W7). I've already found PBOview, which is doing what I need it to do.
But I certainly don't mind helping myself to Mr. Murrays Editing Guide!
Thanks again.

This mod is going to massively outdo CZM! Completely different level!
-
You double click on cpbo, and then click "Okay". Right? There isn't really anything you can do wrong, unless I'm missing something...
-
I have already clicked OK to associate it in the registry, and it allows me the option to create a PBO when I right click a directory, but I never get the option to extract when I right click on a PBO and double clicking is also just as useless. Any advice would be great. Thanks.

and yes i know he should be larger :)As long as he has a ton more HP and armour than the standard enemies I think we'll be alright. Or rather we'll be toast.:D

May I direct your attention to:
No release date can be set. It is a huge mod. Alpha is currently going on and going well in terms of that the scripts are successfully infecting the whole island. Typically after the whole thing runs reliably, the beta phase starts. But that doesn't stop the squirming! ;)
-
Oh NO!!! THEY got him!
-
I can hardly wait. I'm squirming here CP!

How O how do you keep everyone happy?!
Zombies that can run at the same speed as the player are absolutely fine. They'll proved a great scare when the mission designer has set up objectives where you're forced into cramped/tight spaces or have limited ammo.
Slow zombies (the kind that are the inferior opponent we ALL, at least once in a while, subconsciously wish to square off against) are also excellent, more so when used in large numbers, populating a key area the player needs to enter for his objective.
Finally, faster-than-the-player-zombies are just what the doctor ordered if you actually want a TERRIFYING CHALLENGE (when it comes to war games, who doesn't)! They don't even need to be any more than 10% faster than the player - that is LOADS! And what is the outcome? You have to THINK! That's right, you can't just sit around and pick off walking corpse after walking corpse. No sir! You need to be running, running, running, FIRE! - scratch one! running, running, scan ahead, scan behind, make sure to remember which ledges were the most easily and quickly accessible for you and not them, make sure you parked the car in the perfect spot and facing the right direction for a fast getaway, etc.
Anybody who is not interested in faster-than-the-player-zombies just doesn't know how to have fun, in my humble opinion.
Or they're chicken.;)
In any case CP, I registered specifically to ask you the following question: Will it be possible to create and play a MP Mission with this addon for two players, or have you somehow locked out MP functionality completely, as you seem to imply?
There is simply not going to be a multiplayer mode... There is not going to be any players to tell anything to.The reason I ask is because I have a friend with whom I play Arma 2 on a very regular basis, and I've been eagerly following this thread. My friend and I still on occasion tolerate the inferior graphics of ArmA 1 just to play CZM, but if we'll be able to create and play some simple two player missions with your new mod, we'll be utterly thrilled!
I assumed from the following that it might be possible to do this:
A coop of maybe 4-6 players against a cleverly mission maker scripted number of zombies of around 100-140 at a time might run okayPlease advise. Over.

He probably means "Are you done yet!?"
I've watched your YouTube videos a couple times now. I can't even bring myself to play CZM now after seeing those!

Especially that dog! I plan to completely sabotage my buddy with a mission where we have to get separated. There'll be lots of dogs. I'll put them in a seemingly safe place, and I'll say "Hey, do you want to go check that spot while I take up this sniper position?";)
